KToS General Thread v4.0

That moment when people assume Crevox translated everything about the new cosmetics when in fact there’s one part left at the bottom about Exchange Medals that remained untranslated.

Its nice to check the kToS/kTest website personally and read Google-Translated patch notes once in a while, really.

I think you can equip them, but use the “hide” option in the appearence tab, that way you get the benefits from the helmets without looking ugly. Downside of this is that you cant wear a wig under the helmet :frowning:

Why it’s called fuckced when you liteally pay for dev team’s works?

Again, 90% of the people playing tos want some freebies “Art”. Hee hee.

welp thanks you guys for the info, just need confirmation about things that happened in korean sever  hope it comes to IToS too
and also, i do have 5000 medals in storage as well, cause i belive in the kindness of IMC

@lumo.aq I myself am a paying player. Nobody is upset about IMC selling things in the TP store. The problem is with how much they expect you to pay and what you get for it. There’s no reason to set the prices in this recycling system so high (5k medals? Seriously?). It’s an obvious cashgrab with no regard for the players.

None of us want to see IMC start pulling EA-type stunts, and this, unfortunately, is how it begins. If we don’t say something, it’ll just get worse. Paying players lose out because they get less for the same amount of money, and free players lose out because they can’t find what they need in the market.

@redwea Because this is an F2P game, not an exlusive VIP club for rich lucky people. You have to take every player into account. It’s fine to sell highly desirable stuff that’s expensive enough that ordinary people aren’t willing to buy it, but you’re crossing a line when it’s so expensive that they literally CAN’T buy it. It’s the same as telling 99% of your player base to get f*cked.

Secondly, when you start treating your player base that way, you kill the game. Look at Archeage. Trion’s greed killed the population. They were forced to relaunch the game as Archeage: Unchained with all of the P2W elements pulled out in the hopes of reviving its population.

Now, TOS isn’t P2W, but the same principle applies. When the best content is exclusive to whales (and fashion is HUGELY important in TOS) normal players will quit. And when normal players quit, so do whales, because without a large population they have nobody to show off to.

You have to make sure that paying players get worthwhile benefits while ensuring things are still fair to everyone else… and that means setting reasonable prices.

i have to admit, IDGAF about cosmetics, and if whales can buy them and keep the game free for me
god bless them

also if something is so expensive that even whales can’t buy it, then the sales themselves will show it to them, unless there are people actually buying it of course

some whales might realize they are not as big of a whale after all …sorry

Lmao, the only problem with exclusive accesories like this is how much silver you can reap from selling it. Fashion in and of itself is NOT p2w.

Well, yeah, I did say that

My point is that it’s a huge deal in this game, which should be obvious given the sheer amount of money and silver people are willing to spend. I’m happy with the way things are now and I don’t want IMC to start screwing people over by introducing prices like this. They’ve never tried anything like this before.

Even if the wings are going to be more expensive, there’s a limit to greed. Costumes are already expensive to get hold of to begin with, and yet they’re asking for fifty costumes’ worth?

I agree that the pricing itself for these costumes are kinda absurd yeah, but honestly if just cosmetics it doesnt really matter to me. Even if really do want them.

Yeah. I would consider myself a paying player but I never gamble so I just tend to ignore those in the blessed cube but I do buy he Thanksgiving stuff and things.

As of Dec 2019, Elixir in Tels is 450k ea, so you can buy doll by hardly farm 200m+.
And you still think 200m is high? It’s fairly to exchange your visual silver to premium item (which is some dev’s hard working)

is it that expensive? hold my beer

the price:

Considering you buy items from the market to exchange for medals this Wing will be cheaper than small giltine wings, at least in my server

is that a freaking phoenix bird im looking?
thats look way better than the one in fire tower or whatever the name is
man… if its exist in the game as falcon i ll just invest in falconer build rightaway

that is the Shop NPC

Translating recycle shop info is often extremely misleading because our recycle shop has a history of being extremely different compared to the KR server. This goes the same for event information. We may not ever have this item in the recycle shop, and even if we do, it may cost a different amount of medals. It’s up to IMC.

I specifically avoid translating event information because it takes a fair amount of time to translate for things that we likely will never even see on ITOS and gives people a false assumption of things to come.

I was about to ask that
sad

Maybe IMC is waiting another oportunity to release the phoenix

I didn’t omit anything.

I translated the KR live maintenance notes. The fact that the item was added to the Recycle Shop is not in the patch notes, but in a completely different “event description page” linked here:

There is NO mention of the recycle shop having these new items in the patch notes:

The wing and feather information I provided was gathered through datamining before the event page was even up for translation, and even after the event page was added, as I said, I explicitly chose not to translate that page because it is an event.

I did not omit anything, I did not remove details, and there is nothing misleading about what I translated.

So regardless, its a misunderstanding that arose from having only one half of an event content being translated from data-mining. Apologies for all the criticism, the exchange medals could’ve been a great way to spend all the exchange medals players who spent loads on those 7 TP boxes on.

I gave information on the functionality of the items because they are new items added to the game. I did not do a full diff comparison on recycle shop data to be able to discern that they added new items to the recycle shop, and I never include recycle shop information in datamining posts. In both ITOS and KTOS, IMC doesn’t include them in patch notes either outside of one specific case which I did translate:

I translated the page I said I translated (as in every post, I put the link to the page I translate at the top). There may always be information in other pages and posts that I don’t include, especially for events. Those are not my responsibility (though technically, none of these posts are). I try my best to keep people informed of changes coming to the game, but I typically only translate patch notes and important update posts (like the episode 12 update). If people found more information outside of those posts, that’s not me “omitting” anything or being the source of any “misunderstanding.”

I try my best to dig and provide all the information I can: a lot of the stuff I find through datamining is not provided by IMC and are nice previews of things to come. These do often include disclaimers, either from myself or IMC. Some of this info is pretty hidden, like the new class skill names. No, I’m not perfect, and it’s always possible I’ll miss something. I do these posts because it is my understanding that people like them and it helps them out, so I’m sorry if I miss something. I always double-triple check all the information in my posts, cross-referencing multiple sources so that I try my best to not provide misinformation or cause misunderstandings. I know how much harm that can cause.

Going forward, my policy remains the same on event information.
