So many damn swordsman classes are spear users or universal. It ought to just be called spearman.

Lemme even outline it
Hoplite - Spear
Lancer - Spear, Mounted only,
Cataphract - Spear, Mounted only,
Dragoon - Spear

Highlander: All (Only 2H sword guard even uses a sword- Rest is all)
Barb: All
Nak Muay: All
Ret: Some moves are 1H spear and shield or 1H spear and subweapon, But some moves are weird… dagger guard and dagger finish can be done with a 1H sword and dagger for example. and pull and throw rete with all- But they only buff 1H spear damage so what’s the point of using anything but a spear?
Pelt: All 1H and shield
Doppel: 2H sword
Rodelero: All 1H and shield
Murmillo: All 1H and shield
Fencer: Rapier
Matador: Rapier
Templar: Any/All but has one move that needs 1H 2H swords or a rapier. Also mounted only.
Hackapel: 1H sword, mount only

5 basically spear only classes, one 1H sword class, one 2H sword class.

1h sword AND SHIELD,

I am scout, and I have 1h velco sword and velco dagger, I make one hackapel for use my 1h velco sword in another class, and I discovered (in the worst possible way) that I can not use the skill of the hackapel with 1h sword + dagger, only with 1h sword + shield

Correction Hackapel is 1H Sword/Mace with Shield and IMC is planning to give it the Peltasta treatment soon but only with 1H weapons.

Also @flowzerker Retiarius uses a dagger as a pseudo weapon and all its skill damage comes from the spear even though it has a skill called dagger finish.

Really? So the actual value of the dagger is not a factor whatsoever barring maybe whatever stats are on it?

pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffft :haha:

What do they gain by completely obliterating a set of skills (healing abilities) from healing classes?

Can anyone explain to me what is IMC trying to achieve? I mean I like to play as a Healer, but by reading all of this I am not sure if I’ll have the opportunity to.
Having a Main healer will be such a waste now, I think we’ll probably have healers be renegated to alts for group content (that old “now its your turn to heal go, log on”).

Also can anyone confirm to me if those new healing nerfs will be applied ON TOP of the current (itos) healing nerfs on PvP/TBL rules? Or are PvP/TBL rules being removed and this is just a simple normalization??? Because if it is, then I guess I can live with it(?), but if it isnt and Im going to have 1minute+ cd mass heal and heals that restore 2% of my health, lol that’ll be a nay

I heard you don’t buy tp elixir. So we nerf heal so casuals had to depend tp elixir.

With the upcoming stronger monster I wish IMC updated the HP potion to lv 20 or something.

Most likely not gonna happen but I like to make a false hope.

Content is just far too easy. They want people to learn and dodge mechanics via the things people should be learning within the first 5 quests: You can dodge most abilities that come from enemies, either by moving or jumping via correct timing.

Healing and revive are fail safes, but people rely on them 100% of the time and never really learn the game. This leads to people getting really upset when something even a little bit difficult comes their way, they tend to just not do the content or look only for super primo specific class makeups.

Like, LFG Ignas need a healer–but the healer must be priest oracle PD or we’re not inviting you. IMC probably wants to discourage that kind of behavior. You don’t get to have your heal crutch anymore, revive is being nerfed in the newest raid. And if revive gets removed or nerfed further into oblivion everywhere, even PVP, suddenly every single player doesn’t need a priest alt, you no longer need one per party for GVG, and suddenly you can do more interesting things with your support builds without feeling like a potential drain on whatever group you find yourself in.

Well, it depends. If you look from the other side, having only 1 class as The Healer class (Priest) allows you to have whatever you want on the other 2 slots of your FS build (in theory).

If IMC wanted more diversity, specially for basic content, they should not implement skills like the one Ignas have that can easily 1hko people. This created another necessity in an FS build: Oracle, as this is the only class that has an invulnerability skill. Then you have the last slot, that can honestly be anything. PD got that spot because people overestimate Movespeed, but I had good results with a friend of mine who uses Paladin and even Pardoner.

I welcome more classes capable of healing, but it is sad that this will - apparently - kill diversity due to exaggerated nerfs. Now it looks that you will have to run 3 healer classes, or the basic build Priest Oracle PD will still be the meta for that. I don’t see where these changes will bring Pardoner, Kabbalist and even Paladin more to the game, or even Diev and Miko on the support side.

I use basic Heal skill a lot, but I’m unsure if it will be a reliable skill for healing even on the hands of a FS, cause it looks that it is not healing a lot. If they could make it more viable on the hands of an FS build (the new Heal attributes kinda looks like this intention), that would be nice too. But is sad that this is killing the diversity a little. Mixed feelings here.

Thats a pretty bad point considering this change forces Priests into going 3/3 support rather than mixing builds as we currently do.
It also furthers increase the need of oracle rather than diminish it, just look at the new raid video, it begs you to be oracle rather than say exo or inq, so your point makes no sense at all.
not to mention that if these changes STACK with current pvp/tbl rules, mass heal will heal for 1-2% of a player’s health at 100 atributes, and heal will heal for 1% tops.

If only you could ACTUALLY dodge most things. What actually ends up happening is you move well out of the way of a monster’s hit zone and take damage anyway about 3 seconds later.

If anything it will encourage existing priests to drop the class for oracle so they can offer DPS support and foretell.

People who want to play Priests will continue to do so and get their 5 minute get out of jail free card. It had no business having 100% uptime, ever. Frankly the skill shouldn’t even exist since it encourages bad play.

Less healing puts the onus on the 4 other people in the group to actually learn mechanics instead of just brute force healing through them.
