Oh, he used dust storm. Very hard to notice but itâs true, I donât think fire pillar interacts with the fireballs.
Your own video clearly shows the explosions only happen after sandstorm is cast. Fireball at 0:18 has no explosion effects with fire pillar. Fireball at 0:19 does have explosion effects because he cast sandstorm.

Does it only trigger once, does it consume the normal trigger effect?
Because if a monster already runs over it and triggers the aoe then there isnât as much value in Sandstorm triggering it if it wonât hit anything anymore.
The way I see it. Fireball can hit a target only once BUT will remain on the field for some time (like we have now). So not much different from what we have now. The question is, what happens to multiple fireballs? PP can only âexplodeâ 1 fireball regardless of how many are in range of PP. If this can trigger multiple fireballs then sage could be a good alternative to chrono. Sage could provide a bigger burst while chrono would âextend durationâ for the combo.
Giving up 10% in matk to get the higher cast time and the defense of a shieldâproblem is that shields seem way too strong at the moment. I think staff needs something else to make it better, even if the staff mastery is locked behind certain class options rather than granted to everyone.

Still, the maximum duration you have are 15s with the attribute. If you factor in the âcasting animationâ of the skill then it becomes difficult to gather multiple Fireballs for a combo.
It probably would be better if Sandstorm would swirl around the Fireballs and trigger them on each hit with reduced strength or Sandstorm itself gets strengthend when a Fireball is present.
Well, I will have to see which classes I pick. The Elementalist buff already is really strong but I like the flavor of Pyro, Sage, Kino more.
I donât get it. Sandstorm lasts 5.4 sec meaning you have 9.6 sec to drop all 5 OH of fireball. I canât really tell but 0:57 seems like 2 fireballs are going off so maybe?
Ok, so SRs now will still use crossbows or what? Or are you saying that Marching Fire and Wild Shot now changed to a single pistol skill? See, my point is: Since SR is a scout class now theyâre suppose to use 1 hand swords instead of crossbows am I right? So if thatâs the case Iâm wondering whatâs the damage calc now of those 2 skills, becauseit doesnât make any sense if its formula adds the damage of the main weapon (sword now, correct?) since YOU CANâT SHOOT WITH A SWORD! Is this hard to understand?
The animation of making the Fireball is generally relatively slow all while enemies can just run over it and trigger it thus you loosing the effect on the mobs hit. It just seems difficult to set up and mostly an effect you will sometimes get.
I used Fireball for a long time and the animation isnât the best to be honest. I believe they sped it up a bit already but you still stand in place and place it.
I actually wanna see special effects for staff from the raids, like Asio mace/pistol. Asio staff is completely garbage though. Just an idea, for example, the description of Masinios staff read : Once Masinios understood that the devices installed by Agailla Flurry in the Mage Tower operated not on magical power, but the collection and accumulation of a certain power, he applied the same principles to the staff which provided high magic amplification considering the materials and effort required. They could have made something like, for example, ability to gain charges upon using spells (think of magic wand if you know DotA/DotA2). Upon fully charged, gains certain amount of magic amplification (which fits weapon description and actually something unique for raid staves, also fitting for the playstyle of wizard which is mostly burst oriented).
It received ground targeting but tapping it will cast it in front of you like before it got ground targeting. I was pyro-kino for a while so I got used to the set up. I also tried with a sage for duplicate fireball but it didnât pan out (only 1fireball could combo PP so the duplicated were meh).

I mainly use it for linker/Thauma and general aoe, therefore it only lands in front of me. It just seems difficult when the mobs run around and run over it, thus triggering it. Especially as you donât have much cc and I like to fight bigger groups because that is what aoe is for.
Well my sage choice is more for magic circles, a bit of copy and general flavor. I know that Elementalist and Omni probably would be the better choices. =x
