KToS General Thread v4.0

It was quite common on a few maps. You’d be there grinding and then a high level party would pass by, kill everything, check the loot and move on. Some parties would try not to disrupt anyone tho.
The exp. was really nice. You as a lowlevel trying to get better equips and stronger classes walking side by side with the mighty highend players. People would stop to chat, ask questions, see the skills of these classes, etc.

There’s a new cannon-user class coming first thing 2019.

is it true that the test in Ktos will end in Mid November?

Just make a new attribute that the damage is based on the helmet and depending on what helmet you wear you get different boosts to the skills. =P
But I see it like this, if you want a gladiator then you pick the skills scaling of the weapon and ignore most of the offensive shield skills while taking up some net stuff or whatever. I believe the skills with Headbutt and stuff have stun as well so probably nasty in pvp if paired with net and other cc.
As a full tank you gonna pick all defense and shield related skills, this way all skills have their niche and they simply have to balance the numbers to make skills evenly useful. =)

@pr0xy
I can imagine it being nice even if the novelty of it would vanish quickly (like seeing the skills, etc.). Difficult to do today and most wouldn’t like it in our “fast” society. Would love another immersive and slow leveling MMORPG, levels have to matter, Skillpoints have to matter, gear matters, etc. .
Well, don’t get me wrong I don’t mind the theme park like structure, it has its own charm and fun. I simply want both, I guess. xD

@Maisko
I believe they want to release it at the 22nd of November on kToS. So it may take another month for us to get it.

Found some footage of Shinobi/Bullet Marker in action.

There is only female outlaws… i want to see the male outfit :stuck_out_tongue:

Probably close to the pictures posted earlier, just like the female one.

Am I not seeing this right or can you now use Fletcher Skills with a Cannon? I don’t know how up to date these weapon requirements/usability displays are on the skill simulator that got posted. Certainly would be interesting if you can do that, especially as Cannon is now 2-hand and thus stronger.
Mergen seems to be still only Bow and Crossbow, but they seemed to opened up a lot outside of actual specialists. If all of that is correct so far and doesn’t change of course.

In case people are interested, Sapper got two new Traps in return detonate and conceal got reduced to 1 point skills. =P
Traps are a Spring trap and a Bear trap, both with Over Heat.

Heal no more tiled. :frowning: If it’s a single target lock, a mouse move will better than keyboard play?

There is an interface with 5 directions (neutral is yourself) that lets you cast the base heal of Cleric in the direction you want and then the targeted player gets healed. People moan about and it is a bit sad but it brings it more in line with what a Cleric does and makes healing in the thick of monsters easier I suppose as they can’t take healing tiles anymore and people don’t have to run to it, possibly dying on the way.
No clue what will be better, you have to test this yourself once it is released.

I welcome our new scout farmer overlords.

We will see some nerfs, specially to the Assassin Class.

Edit: And there are some they need some Skills to get a fitting skill set.

Two-handed cannon in action, as well as new Sapper spike trap. It seems quite strong.

I plan to go rodelero without peltasta and try a full offense shield PVP build, like swordie - rodelero - murmillo - retiarius.

The changes to peltasta really turned me off to the class, and I am someone who went sw3 - pelt3 - rode1 - murm - rete2

If only 3 classes to choose, I feel that peltasta is strictly for those who just want to tank mobs and bosses. Its uses in PVP will be minimal.

I assume this is 100% attributes on skill and trans 10 weapon
I wonder how much you actually need to do budget farming
The best thing of thauma linker FF was that it really didnt need much at all

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCen8ZJces4 this new unique raid?

Outlaw probably isn’t the best class to choose here as a ‘finisher’ for the kill combo. Too many multi-hits. I imagine that any powerful single-target attack will work just fine instead though for budget builds. We also have to keep in mind that scouts have no way to self-sustain, unlike wizards used to with transpose or featherfoot.

Honestly, as we can now pick any class each new class will open up a lot of opportunity for new combinations. Even more so if they decide to let us pick a 4th class at the top.

@frustratedsquirrel2
Yeah, it also got two new traps as well. Certainly exciting to see what you can do with it.

@Remiri
It needed the changes, it is a tank class after all. You can still take it for a defensive, shield based PvP character as well as the defensive cooldowns it has.
But the offensive shield build you have in mind sounds good. Having defensive and offensive shield builds in PvP should be great. Both will use some CC and be a pain to fight though. xD

@Patch2
Generally Linker made a lot of farming builds possible while Thauma gave us so much loot. I can see Corsair being a premium farming build due to Pillaging (if it is still there) and other classes are the entry point due to higher damage skills that don’t rely on multiple hits, which often can be bad for linked mobs.
Guess we should consider Corsair the premium option if you got a good weapon to do the damage needed as you yourself mentioned.

It is on kTest right now.
Next week, should be in kToS. If it takes similar time as the other things before to get in iToS, should be here around January/February. But it is safe to assume they will speed things up to release on iToS around christmas or new year, or even before. We have to wait for an official announcement.

The best option I see for budget build is shinobi since it has a high damage electrical attack which hopefully works with link attribute

https://tos.guru/ktest/simulator?tinyurl=y9patssq

I still intend to go with corsair for the Pillage (unless pillage is removed from the game) for the absolute highest chance of more loot. I guess I’ll have to use dagger attack or something.

If Linker still works the way it does on live, how you kill enemies really won’t matter as long as you have some sort of AOE attack and the ability to do the combo fast enough.

And of course, we still have the classic Link/thaum/enchanter

I think SR will be the best for link-thaum. The companion gives more mov speed, and all link-thaum skills can be used while riding. Limacon can be used to aggro and gather mobs quickly while on the move, and Caracole to one shot linked+swelled mobs. Caracole cd also matches Joint penalty (both 20sec).

The only problem is that I dont know if Caracole can still ricochet. If it can, then it will be great, if not, SR is probably not good for link-thaum.
