Cuz history has shown players view balances via nerf more negatively than buffing other classes up. Devs rather buff other classes so when the elememes whine about it, they can say “Hey we never touch your class, you still do the same as what you did before. What’s your complain?”
They just flat out nerf swordman right? I don’t think that’s their view, unless they have different views when it come to wizard and archers

meh they won care anyways, when they nerf sadhu they left it buggy and theres a ton of people whining about it, but sadhu has barely been tunched for the past 5 months :C

I can see why people would blow up at you for something like that. The quick cast comment is enough to warrant a verbal thrashing since it is not addressing any of the parts of Wizard that makes them OP. It’s just a net nerf and to many builds that don’t need it.

From what I understand is that the R8 classes are still new, barely 1 week old. They are really taking ktos like a test server or something. They are just balancing all the skills and damages each class can do. It is just balancing and not nerfing. At least they actively now try to make every R8 class balance against each other.
The speed they nerf serpentine make me wonder why they have no reaction toward magic arrow and quick cast, which has been around for like a year now.
Oh well, not like I can do anything about it.
But I don’t like the fact that they only balance R8 against R8. It’s making lower rank skills obsolete, except for murmillo that specifically boost lower ranks.

You keep bringing up quick cast. Why do you think two ranks in Wizard to get a personal 50% matk is OP?
Seeing the videos of ktos, it is indeed worrying that the power creep has risen so much. I wonder what will happen when the game settles down and players without an R8 circle will need to farm for materials in the 300+ maps sporting only monsters at 300+k hp.

Sorry I phrase it wrongly. What I meant is without the power/damage of an R8 circle it will be really hard to farm for materials needed for gears. An example will be my FS wiz which only has pyro1 as the damage circle in the build. I can still farm for material mats till 240, although it is slow. The new 330 patch will make the build even more reliant on partying for everything if I continue down the FS build.
It make me start to think that full FS is just too masochist for me in the game with power creeps. Support builds will need some form of damage to at least have a bit of soloing power just to get by in the upcoming patch.
No skills usable with pistol. Half not usable with dagger. Impossible to bring 3 weapon kits even if I wanted to ■■■■ around with the terrible weapon swapping lag.
Also just terrible synergy even if every single skill worked with pistol. Murmillo is clearly designed to only be useful if you went pelt/rode. Would rather go Dragoon or Doppel or Shinobi or ■■■■■■■ SwordsmanC2 at this point.
I think that’s a problem with the other lines not giving enough scaling. Not the power of quick cast. Wizard’s are not suddenly gods when they spend two ranks to get a 50% buff.
% buffs and debuffs is Intrinsic to scaling in ToS. Unless you want to rip up much of what we have and replace it all with flat scaling or flat hits only. But right now it’s expected that classes have ways to increase damage by %.
I suppose you could go the other way and look at everything that does do % and start pulling them out. But I think a simpler way is to fix pyro.
This is the worst argument that ever comes up. Pyro is a trash class and it has nothing to do with quick cast. The only way nerfing quick cast would ever make sense is if you allow magic to crit.
