kTOS General Thread v2.0

Yes.

Skeletons can still die even in iToS right now on a full SPR character. It just takes a long time, but does happen in particularly long farming sessions or hectic fights (like Uphill Defense without OP characters, for example)

wow such a big patch!
and finally a cleric exclusive weapon! i hope no other class can equip it in the future

You would think it is but no. PvP now is decided mostly on whoever has the most money to spend on the weapon. We have full con builds dealing a ā– ā– ā– ā–  ton of damage and being nigh unkillable because of that, and yes, i agree that something should be done to decrease their damage. But decreasing the skill damage is the stupidest way to do so! I still personally prefer the old style of pvp where everyone had the same gear, that alongside with the combat changes would make pvp 100% skill based.
But the main problem is clerics. Almost any cleric build is fliping excruciatingly hard to beat right now and the only way you can do so is by locking them down and bursting them. If this does not work anymore, if you cant kill the cleric in one combo then they will become even more overpowered than they already are, its just a stupid way of dealing with the problem.
And on a personal case, Musketeers will vanish from the game. Our main goal in pvp is to burst someone down with one or 2 skills before they can react. We are squishy as hell and if we get caught out of position we Will die. Now we wont be able to burst people down because of this stupid change, making our class virtually useless. Granted, they can keep musketeer damage as it is but come on, its IMC we are talking about here…
This is just overall a stupid way of solving a much bigger problem. Just so frustrating.

These changes make me so happy, the dev blog too. After a long time I feel hope again, these changes in my opinion are so good and all the information of future plans seem so good and exciting.

Waiting for rank 9 doesn’t seem all that bad anymore in my opinion.

yes, but we will get these changes 3 months later -.- I’m still waiting for summoner patch…

Perhaps not 3 months, anyways for a less buggy more stable game I’m willing to wait. But yeah I’m anxiously waiting for summon buffs too.

Also they will introduce new boss cards, MORE SUMMONS PLES

How exactly the new Card System will work? I didn’t understand that google translation

The information is still very limited based on it but how I understood it more cards will have valuable options and I guess more bonuses that are good for specific classes and I guess certain pairs can give bonuses etc.

Seems interesting.

So now have to wait for the new orange 2h mace?
Just start to like my shield on my monk/pala lol

What i understand is you only can stack up to three of the same cards. And they will rework several of them

Cards will be given different types/categories and you will only be able to stack max 3 of the same card, regardless of what they do.

This means no more 5-8 Glassmoles/Chapparitions Cards, since deep down this is all we are really interested about.

Still, I think it’s too soon to cry about it, they could rework them to give more PA/MATK or have the buff last longer, or not change them at all, honestly even now some ranks reach the damage cap with some abilities while proccing those cards, since some spells are still fake multihits and the damagecap is garbage…

Ye so much skill… Inqui uses maleus you are dead. Sneaked archer uses blindside / snipe, you are dead. No counter play, no way to avoid. This new system at least lets players try. The only problem this new skill system brings is full con characters. That might return. Thats my only concern. Block might need a pvp nerf with this.

If they reduce the pvp damage in TBL and don’t restrict the use of recovery items/healing skills, the rounds will go forever and the whales using TP potion will be unkillable.

or you may have teamplay focused on killing one at time and ccing the rest.
i’m not gonna say that you are wrong; but let’s also remember that the new tbl is only 3x3 now, not 5x5 .
So a lot of things gonna change, and until it hit the game it is simple too soon to tell.
but in the end if there is a super whale full trans, it will be almost impossible to kill him without a team with higher trans as well, just like is now.

In TBL it’s already -50% damage inflicted

whale will cry for foul play

It’s actually a clever move to further reduce the damage in TBL so that people don’t have to be full CON builds to survive some hits.

We’ll just have to wait and see how it goes, hopefully they’ll come up with a better combat system in general in the future. The whole refining/transcend thing is bad as it is right now, allowing for way too much damage with the current damage formula. We don’t need tanks for most of the content in game which is bad. A lot of classes/skills need to be reworked still and there’s the whole optimization problem.

But think of it as a start. From what I can see, it seems like the Devs don’t know a whole lot about PvP/PvE and they’re trying to learn.

And the old style you speak of only worked with the old damage system. However with the current system + standard gear, you’ll probably still die super easy. So they still took a baby step in the general direction they need to be heading.

From my RO experience (13+ years) I can tell that reduced damage was a core point of War of Emperium, so that players MUST work together to kill other players/guilds. There is no point in making gvg without the need to work together!

… I think that it will be better to gather some cards right now, specially Gazing Golens and Tomb Lords.
