After digging through a ton of videos (including that 3 hour stream) here’s what I can conclude for the “x” value in the formula.

  1. x” is a variable, not a constant.
  2. x” goes up as defense goes up.
  3. x” is not affected by % factor.

It’s still not clear whether or not atk value affects “x”, or how is “x” calculated precisely. Most of the videos I find either doesn’t show the stats screen or has a variable atk range (e.g. 900~1000) which makes it pretty much unusable.

If anyone finds a video where the player has a constant atk, shows their stats, and isn’t fighting mission mobs (they scale with level so I can’t get the mob’s stats) then please do share.

ALL base stats(attack,mattack,def,mdef) have changed, the only thing that hasnt changed from older gear are the sub stats. instead of asking for imc to change stuff read what has changed yourself first…

yeah i already see this… MY english is not very good… i Talking about the sub stats… need better SUB stats in older leather equips. WHY the new free dg kill all older sets??

Because it’s less work to make something new than it is reworking your old stuff.

this is just pure ignorance now.
lolopanther/solmiki still better than all this, a lot of older gear is still relveant with high crit rate (weapons and accesories), a lot of older gear still has the things that actually made them top tier.

this gears are mediocre aditions for people that have NOTHING ELSE To use, but i guess thats too hard for this community to get over their heads. everything is uwaaa muh crit rate, uwaaa i dont hit damage cap, uwaaa muh memes.

sub stats from newer stuff hardly offer anything really good, the amount of crit rate on new leather wich you need lvl 270/315 to get is questionably good, and why would you even NEED high crit rate early on when everything has its health reduced by 1/5 on field and 1/3 for dungeon bosses? even blut a world boss went from 440m hp to 20m, that 5% of his old total health for ■■■■ sake.
this is also the first ■■■■■■■ iteration of the changes. there are more important ■■■■ to fix than the cries of crit memers on a system that doesnt intent any player to have huge amounts of crit unless they get out of their way to invest in actual crit rate gear.

yes this is what im worried of. if its after the skill factor than dex is totally useless only for block pan and evasion. i even think no matter in pve or pvp thses two are kinda useless after the new system, like everyone has high str and accuracy

In the old formula, which I simplified into this:

{
({(Skill Attack + Attack) + [random(0% … 100%) * Magic Amplification] * (100% + T0)} - “DEFENSE”) *
[100% + (0 or 50% if crit)] + (0 or Critical Attack) + (Extra Elemental Attack) + (Enemy Specific Damage)
} * (100% + T1) * (100% + T2) * (100% + T3) * (100% + Enhance) + Bonus Damage

Crit Attack would be multiplied by:

  • Skill % Modifier (there already were some skills with %)
  • Skill Attribute
  • Final damage modifiers (like “Quick Cast Attribute”)
  • Enemy armor type or dimensions

New formula is:

damage = (% factor) x attack x log10 ((attack / defense + 1)^0.x + 1) + additional damage

Yet it doesn’t factor in “Crit, Critical Attack, Extra Elemental Damage” and all the others stuff

I’m pretty confident that the given “damage” formula is just the basic damage calculation of “Attack vs Defense” PRIOR to the other final factors:

  • Skill Attributes
  • Final Damage Modifiers
  • Enemy armor

I guess they either implied Critical Attack in the first multiplication (% factor) or it does either multiply at the end for that same “% factor”.

The only difference would be the influence of the “Log” on critical attack or not, but that’s irrelevant to the most important thing which is Critical Attack to multiply with those final factors. (% factor mainly).

I’d say that based on the stats we’ve been told up to now:

  • 10 STR = 25 P. Atk
  • 10 DEX = 62 Critical Attack

Given that P.Atk becomes “150%” when it lands a critical hit, DEX would be better than STR in either single hit or multi-hit skills if the critical chance is > 50~51% or so, else STR would win.

Unless they made Critical Attack to multiply not with anything but just add flat… in that case… well, it’d be more likely no use for any skill unless they’d have a < 100% multiplier (or even lower), but it would sound crazy and not effective at all.

I think it’s 210 or around this as @TheAlleyCats tried to check from where it came from.

indeed, can someone test this on ktest if they have acceses to it?i think most patk players would want to know how STR and DEX do in crit situations.

how to do it is simple, just pick rogue3 and see the dmg on backstab for full str and full dex. because with sneak hit backstab always crit.

how did you download ktest again? and does anyone have that jtos fix for the creators update bug?
would want to try thiss changes myself, specially sorc/necro with SPR since NO ONE seems to care for anything but crit right now

Cat buff’s sp regen seems like a pretty effective reason to go Sorc1 (unless it was nerfed via the patch? idk), but summons in general needed some love damage-wise.

I´m fine as long doppel/Fencers are still viable dps.
And i hope they nerf spear throw its like a 1-skill cls now …

Nah man, spear lunge and Finestra are great too (Finestra even moreso with this patch making critrate harder to get) TBH 3 good skills is more than most low level classes have. Curious to see what stabbing’s damage will look like, too.

IMO spear throw is as strong as it should be for a C3 skill. Shitty C3 skills is a problem for a lot of classes, especially low rank. If there’s any problem it’s probably with the spear that massively boosts its damage. It needs to be Agny’d with the patch.
