kTOS General Thread v2.0

They could make specific class reset potions when they drasitcally change classes.

Like “Corsair Reset potion” when used it counts how many circles you have and gives you exactly the amount of points for that class.

It’s not hard to program and send to characters, at all.

■■■■ I’d want one.
I must’ve been smoking something because I have a Rodelero C1 Corsair C1.

It will probably reset you to base class job 1 and then you eat the special cards to proceed with your new choices.

Which is interesting because, well, they may give you “r2~r8” cards that first time thanks to the event, but they eventually can sell a class reset and the “rank up” cards separately so you either buy it or grind back all your JOB EXP to r8 again.

If the translation doesnt fails me, those items actually make one go from level 1 to level 15 immediately on use, in their current ranks. They do not seem related to Rank resets, unless those items are part of a bundle in which you character gets reseted to rank 1 and you have to use em, successively.

Those items have been on the database for a LONG time already.

The theorycrafted idea for class reset involving those items is like this:

  • Use Class Reset Potion
  • Get back to Rank 1 - lvl 1 (No attribute refund)
  • The system provides with enough Job Class Cards to reach your previous rank. (If you were Rank 5 lvl 13, you receive up to 4 rank cards so you will be set to Rank 5 lvl 1)
  • This also means, you will have to retake every class advacement quest. Special examples: Shinobi flower, Miko hunt, etc

This is just speculation, and we gonna know how it really knows when its implemented on ktos.

3am to 1pm (kst)
that would be 4 hours left

That’s a real long maintenance.

I have used Rank Cards in the private test server. It increases your class level to 15 upon use. iTOS has these for a long time in the data.

IMC topic about rank reset scroll;

teaching/showing how it works.
now someone can do a translation for us, or let’s go with google trans :slight_smile:

it seems that we will go back to rank 1: loses all attributes but once we select the same class as before; we can “buy” the attributes back until the level we had before the reset without the use of silver.
for example you reset a sword 3 cata 3 dragon2. to sw 1 petal hop cata 3 dragon. you will be able to re buy the cata3 dragon 2 attribute, to the same level you had before without the need of silver. this is what i could grasp.
edit: it seems that we can jump direct to a hidden class if we had her before too.
there is no need to re do all the steps; for example collecting the flower; we can jump direct to the part where we talk to the shinobi master and kill the mobs.
see item 4: Hidden class Pre-condition is retained.

@Gwenyth illuminate us please :slight_smile:

Feel like taking same class again will allow player to upgrade skill attribute (which has learned before) to the old level without consuming silver. So good.

ah ok so it’s a halfway between refunding all silver and zero refunds.

is more like; refunding all silver without doubt.
since if you ever get the same class as before; you will be able to level all the attributes you had before.
but if you choice a complete new one, it would not make any sense for them to give money to upgrade as well so you will have to PAY, from 0.
this works well; because it would allow us to optimize our builds when there is nerfs-buffs, but the core of the build would still be the same since would be to expensive to lose all the main class attribute; but circle 1class that we take as filler-supp, can be changed without penalty, since normally we do not invest in attribute for them!

i can say; that IMC really have put effort in it;. because if you can only reroll one or two circle to make you class better; you will lose almost nothing;
But if you want to complete re roll a entire class to a new one; you will have to start from 0 attribute; so it may not be worth to do so, would be better to level one from scratch.

It works almost like predicted here:

except for the attribute part.

Also, seems all pre-requisites to unlock Hidden Classes are keep. But the “Advacement Quest” have to be retaken. So not sure what would this mean.

i have wrote about this above;
this means: for example: shinobi quest you need to collect multiple items (flower scroll) and so on; just to unlock the NPC to receive the quest.
but if you reset the class having shinobi before : you can jump direct to the npc and take the quest without the need to unlock it again, by collecting the flower and so on!
i believe this is clearly now; you understand?
all hidden classes: first you unlock the NPC>>> then do a quest>>> the time consuming part is always to unlock the NPC, at least for shinobi it is.
but you will be able to skip it, if you already had it before.

Okay, I hope they fully tested the reset for every possible class combination or it will be yet another hilarious bug fest

i’m not expert in those details, but everything seems solid for me; the only bug i can see happening is allowing us to take hidden class before the minimum rank; since for hidden class we need to talk to the npc to receive it. and since we will already be save the progress from before, i can see a bug allowing us to talk to him before the minimum rank and getting the quest, and this would be hilarious.
