KTEST] New Fireball

i am a full pve player… :smiley: and yeah considering my options… couz i dont want to lose the pyro chrono thing… but if it does… hello enchanter… maybe… i dont know… currently i got the pyro/chrono/alch for the purpose of just the alch and being useful in dungeons to level… but mehh… come what may then… it’s already stressing me out… and i can just reroll to a support dmg. for the purpose of only the alch… :smiley:

for reasons why i did pyro chrono… i usually mess putting skills in the ground… at times… so i use pass to re position… also use pass to re dps on a very movable target… that’s my play style when i’m doing deploy magic… (magic that casted on the ground and stay for a period of time)…

if pyro wont work… then I don’t know… :confused:
as for farming i got another one for that so i dont mind focusing my pyro just to level only… :smiley: and effectively and can contribute to a party more…

and if anyone will suggest a cryo… i got 1 too… 2 wiz 1 base on fire 1 base on ice… just for anyone to know :smiley:

I also thought of one thing… The new Agny necklace would synergize WAAAYY more with the ulti hit skill since the 50% additionall damage modifier would apply per hit, compared to the new lame fireball which will only have it apply once.

This means a level 15 fireball: 1 hit x 496% + agny (50%) = 546% dmg total. (496% w/o Agny)

compared to… let’s say flame ground: (around 10 hits in 8.4 seconds) x 179% +agny = 2,290% dmg total. (1,790% w/o Agny).

Firewall would also do 253% dmg per hit with Agny instead of just 203%

so yeah… new fireball is lame.

Do you have a source saying agny will be additive to skill factor?

Pretty sure it’s been stated ever since the first dev post about combat changes.

“As for accessories, the Agny Necklace, an item with rather peculiar options, will now increase the factor of fire property skill attacks by 50%. Say, if Fireball has an attack factor of 230%, with an Agny Necklace equipped it will expand to 280%.”

Even Freezing sphere has better numbers than fireball :S

well … Freezing sphere is also a mono target spell. They adjust depeding of many factor range/rank/hit number/cost/cd/aoe ratio etc.

Would be kinda sad if the scalling was lower than fireball.

It has AoE. And a lot of ppl would like Fireball to be ranged like that, even if the AoE is not big.

Personally i dont think i want that, tho. There are already too many “missile” clone skills in the wizard tree (energy bolt, ice bol, freezing sphere, gather corpse, arlchemy missile…)

But i would like a faster casting animation… and not just to Fireball. Many wizard skills take too long with animation, and not all of them can be canceled with jumping the same way Ice Pike and Electrocute can.

I noticed that firewall’s damage and number of hits regardless of level, and the amount of flames only increase every 2 levels… So does this mean odd numbered level for that skill is pointless, since leveling it from level 2 to level 3 literally does nothing to the skill?

How is pyro2>linker2 now?
Is fireball lv10 + flare lv 10 + agny enough?
I currently have linker2>pyro2> alche3

looking for alternatives if its gets bad after the rebalance

Good but not amazing.

Agny will give a better damage to Flame Ground and Fire Pillar because of the multi hit nature and additive change of the necklace.

FireBall is not boosted that much with Agny and the combo with Linker is different, you will have to link and use hangman knot before the fireball.

Is Cryo now a better pick then Pyro as a low circle damage class after the update?

I seriously can’t see that being true, especially now that ice blast’s been fixed to hit ice walls only once regardless of how many walls there are.

Pyro has much more versatility in terms of damage skills. Also cool downs are very decent now for fireball, firewall and pillar. And agny still helps quite a lot with the multi hit skills by adding +50% skill factor per hit.

Cryo on the other hand has basically 2 direct damage skills and ice blast which needs mobs to be frozen in the first place or to have ice wall/tree deployed.

If you are using Agny, Fire Pillar will be the most boosted skill.

But I don’t remember if level still increase the duration after patch, if yes then max it, if not then you can use the points in something else because have only a 5,2% damage increase per level.

reset to wiz 3 link 2. you will have more sucess with combustion i feel, just use the attribute that consumes 200 silver

Nope, attribute that consumes 200 Silver will make a combustion explosion somewhere random around your character, plus the 200 silvers equals to one item, the combustion is busted with dig because its dig lv15, 15 items x combustion, got it?

Plus to use dig i would have to be with a full inventory so i wouldnt loot the items, which sucks

I think you can actually aim combustion, its not random, its a slight distance in front of you.

Hmm, maybe fixed distance then?
But i still dont think is worth to spend 15 levels on a 32s cd skill that doesnt hit that hard…
I see investing 15 dig and 15 combustion if there was an attribute like Battle Materials On/off which keeps the dig items from being looted so you could use combustion without a full inventory
