Is STR becoming too weak?

I’m sure a lof of competent people try to apply there with a very good cv but the team in charge has so much pride, they prefer to sink the whole ship together than just improving the game.
You could be a level 2 engineer working for the best world known companies imc would still refuse them I bet.

Why not both? put enough dex so with gear your evasion and crit is high and rest in str and a lil in con.

Wouldnt this mean higher int is better? Mostly int with some con gives like 700 matk or more. Thats 700 more matk you would need to get through other means to pass that mdef.

Weight limit doesnt affect combat and crit attack is weak since it is just flat damage. Shouldnt even be considered, so attack and block pen. magic cant be blocked.

So it seems the only thing str has on int is the ability to crit, which you need dex and gear to make it happen often. Maybe a small amount of magic amp per int would make it balanced. like .5 per int since it actually adds to the base damage and gets affected by attributes and other things afaik. correct me if im wrong.

Weight limit affects combat as you can carry heavy equip, spare equip if things break, items to use skills, healing items and the loot you get without getting overweight so easily. It’s just not a direct affection.

on Magic Amp: edited wrong info out

Best would be to not affect the damage at all, but do something useful for the gameplay like 200 INT shave off 1 second of SP regeneration time e.g.

This is what i dont understand. People often say it multiplies. I thought it just added a random amount of your magic amp to your base damage when attacking. What do you mean multiplies your damage by it? i know 100 magic amp doesnt multiply it by 100.

So the way i figured, if you had 700 int, then it would add 350 mamp which averages to just 175 damage. didnt think it was too strong, but if it is a multiplier of some sort, maybe it would be.

I went from 350 str and 125 dex on my lancer to 45 str and 320 dex and the only area that suffered damage wise was auto attack. My auto attack went from 2.5k to 700. All my other skills are the same, or stronger cuz I got some attributes. Best decision I ever made was going full dex. Now I rape in pvp where I used to lose, but I still win where I would win before. so

That is not at all how magic amp works.

Magic amp randomly adds “0 ~ yourMagicAmp” magic attack to your normal damage. If you have 150 magic amp, your sills do randomly 0~150 more damage. Even if you somehow got 1000 magic amp, that’d only add 500 damage on average to your attacks, which is not really that great considering normal monsters quickly reach 100k+ or even 500k+ hp.

On average, 1 magic amp is worth as much as 0.5 magic attack, aka garbage.
That is far, FAR weaker than any theoretical magic crit (1.5x total damage).

If only magic amp was applied after defense. Then it would have been a little better.

Darn, I was wrong xD
I re-read the TOS mechanics guide and yeah, magic amplification atm is damn crap… It’s not really an amplification the way it currently works but instead is additional damage… going to edit that sh!t out xD

That would only change anything if you’re hitting for 1. And hitting for 1 + magic amp vs. mobs with hundreds of thousands to millions of HP isn’t very useful even if you somehow have 1000 magic amp.

Anyway, people saying “just add enough DEX so you can crit all the time” don’t seem to understand how stats work in this game. At 330 rank 8 you can go full STR and have over 800 STR, or you can go half STR half DEX and have 390 STR 230 DEX, which is almost 200 stat points you miss out on. The retarded way the stat system rewards you for dumping all your stats into one category, especially STR or INT, on top of the retarded way it calculates crit rate, means it will always be all-or-nothing for the most efficient spread. If you can somehow get near-capped critrate with 0 DEX, STR is the most efficient. Otherwise you might as well just go all DEX and make up for the lost damage from STR with gear (much easier than making up for lost crit rate, especially with new gems).

In R7 it was possible to have a relatively high critrate and go full STR even as a Swordsman with certain builds. Generally not capped, but enough that the added damage of STR was worth it from a purely DPS perspective. However, since in R8, with new gear and gems and etc. damage values are way, way higher, and it looks impossible even with BIS gear to be crit rate capped as a Swordsman with 0 DEX, you may as well go full DEX. Even with full DEX you’ll need some crit rate from gear to be capped for most classes, so why bother with STR? A build that does ~1000 more damage per hit but never crits isn’t worth it, even completely ignoring the benefits of evasion and accuracy.

That build would deal fantastic damage… Until it faces a mob/player with high block. The new gems don’t add block penetration at op levels and gloves usually give 1 socket so… That will be something players who focused on str will deal with better than dex players

Str is amazing when you got high crit without dex. Str > dex in group play.

Yeah, and CON is amazing when you have high damage without STR or DEX…

think ToC meant 10 werewolf cards

This is the biggest problem for me. Thank you for pointing out

Which is exactly what ELEMEMEs were before r8. It’s extremely easy to get over 80% crit with gears for r8 content.

STR should give DEF at rate of 3:1 I think

STR isnt becoming weak we still use it to by pass block.
Uh… well…

We need more hogmas in every map if possible to make things fair xD

I have 700 STR and those shits still block some hits

You know I almost don’t regret doing that with my wiz, I really do love how my character plays though in the end he’ll be next to useless other than the fact he has c1 linker in the build once I get to 280+ maps. Oh well I enjoyed the journey at least lol
