It’s already been said before, but I wanna say it, too. I’ve seen that a a lot of players, including myself, are running most of the game at a lowly 30FPS; even in low spec mode. In crowded areas, it can drop to as low as 10FPS. I’m pleading for the game to be optimized to the point where at least a decent graphics card can run it at 60FPS on low-spec mode. qq
Yeah still need lots to be polished and one thing that can be included is a limiter of how many players will be shown, some games use that to solve this kind of problem on populated areas.
I don’t think they would release the game in the optimisation state it is in right now. It’s indeed very damn poor. The game is, graphics wise, from the last gen and should run on every PC thats build in the last few years with 30 FPS and FAR above. No develper would release a game like this in that state, so i honestly dont worry about that part.
Don’t confuse graphics with game engine, did you check what other games run on Path Engine? I took a look on their site and there are some heavy ones there too. So don’t expect to see an AMD Athlon 4500+ running this game on a AGP GS8500 or GT8800.
Well I have a shitty over 5year old computer and during icbt2 I had a pretty stable 30fps.
However in ktos Im most of the time around 50-60fps sometimes dropping to around 30. For me they have done huge improvements since our beta, ktos would be nicely playable for me if it wasn’t for the shitty latency I have.
ToS need optimization, that’s the only thing i need from IMC right now.
I have i5 4460, r7 260x 2gig gddr5, 8 gig ram and I still having below 10fps at klapeia I have no trouble in games like tera, witcher3, the division, mgsv, titanfall and gtav…so yes very poor optimization.
Unless you live around KR you can’t beat physics, more far from the server mean more latency due to the distance. It’s like a curse for gamers.
Not only that but fix most bugs and block code injection through chat.
Yeah I know that
I think the optimization atleast in ktos is pretty good.
Okay, now what you wanted to tell me with that link? That it’s an enigine used for 3A titles that are mostly well optimized and run really damn good on low and high end pc’s? Still don’t changes anything on my statement that the game, with it’s graphics (yes i use that word because it matters alot), should run without ANY kind of FPS drop, especially below 30…
So it seem by one of the posts above.
I think they will make it happen on that low end PC option, if i am not mistaken that thing is not working properly, at least i didn’t saw any difference in FPS or effect loss with it on or off.
Sorry i had to edit that word in particular, you said well, mostly, it doesn’t mean that ToS is already well optimized, the game is in release state in KR not here. that is, and it is my opinion in the case, because Nexon KR pressured IMC in doing so. I am by any means happy with the current state of the game itself, there are lots to be done, be it optimization or bug fix, but since on KR version they are fixing stuff every week, or so i do hope, those fixes will come to our version too (since its core related), but until then, i will wait to see it with my own eyes.
As for the graphic thing, i am talking about the texture itself, the model is under the engine, so if the polygons or w/e this engine use as structure to the characters and objects have unnecessary lines or vertices it will increase the load on the client.
But then again, ToS is EXTREMLY simple when you compare it to ALOT of the games on the Client list of Pathengine. I have no doubt that we will get a optimized game that runs pretty good and wont be compareable with the version we have had, because noone would play a game that runs that bad for a long time. Also, you sound like a smartass, because at the end of the day, you don’t know anything thats behind that process, nore do i, but please don’t try to sound like you do.
Indeed, but you have to take into consideration the engine system requirement, well, if it can run on a 5-6 year old PC i think its pretty good.
Oh sorry if i sounded like a smartass, but i am not, but i do know about computers since i own a computer parts shop, well in any case, the game still need optimization, that is a fact.
I had 60 fps… but i have an monster of a mashine here…
Only times i dropped below 25 fps, was when cbt2 ended and people stormed the city channels for farewells.
SKILL SPAMMMMMMINNNG * 1000.
You could have a look at this Reddit thread. I have no idea on hows the project, nor did I make use of it, but it seems to be quite interesting and useful.
Interesting tool, it might add some hidden options to the config file of the game, and as i can see one is not really stable (note that it is not the tool’s fault but something built-in game that is not fixed yet) since can cause glitches, but still its a nice way to improve the fps.
The glitched option i did suggest here or was on another thread, can’t recall now, to make a slide option so we can set the number of visible players on screen, if you need to trade with a character that is not showing you can right click on the player name on chat and trade from there, other thing is, players in party or guild have priority to be shown.
