Think what Yuri means to say is that private and consistent interactions with a player or a group of players in an environment not specifically structured to accomodate that sort of deal is really dangerous, unprofessional, and highly looked down upon no matter the reason or the justification/upsides to it.
It would be different if it was something like the translator discord, where a majority of the discussion and channels are based on the goal of translating and there’s an established sort of who-to-talk-to-and-listen-to thing. Art discord is way more casual and has way more grounds for bias about certain things and whatnot. I do see that some people would be much more comfortable discussing this sort of thing outside of forums, but having a GM as a GM easily accessible in a chat like that is…weird at best. Even consistent correspondence with only one player is considered really iffy, since there is no sort of professional representative position and GMs are more or less supposed to keep their discussions with players open and multifaceted.
it’s fantastic that you’re tryin to make things better for the artist community because I agree a lot of the policies and treatment of fancreators is pretty lackluster as it is, but I don’t think that the GM doesn’t care or whatever. They wouldn’t respond to this otherwise, and there’s a reason they responded on an open platform like this forum versus a PM reply.
