Tree of Savior Forum

I'm really tired with all that comparsions with RO and whine

wow so the guy is kinda like Hideo Kojima

honestly, as soon as you enter those two letters on these forums it’s like dipping buckets of blood into the ocean, the sharks are coming

@SuspiciousBox
hhhahahha

@Rhagius we will see @@ if it becomes a failure in the long un… But this game is greenlit in 10hours on steam meaning people are hyped to see this game come out…

TOF steam greenlit:
http://news.mmosite.com/content/2015-05-13/tree_of_savior_english_version_arrives_on_steam_greenlight_now.shtml

i was commentating on the point that you always call it TOF instead of TOS

How old is RO Now…20 years? 15? (Looked it up 13 years) Geese… I played with my husband back when we where dating… That game forever made me feel like i suck at stuff… Anyway

RO was memorable. And now is just OLD …Thing is this isn’t RO… and Elements should be compared on a Element by Element basis. TOS > RO questing, TOS > RO graphics TOS > RO in Leveling TOS>RO Story TOS=RO Art wise. However… TOS has NOTHING to do with RO…it’s a spiritual successor… for those who need a hand here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spiritual_successor If you came in expecting RO2 there is one out there, its F2P on Steam… AND IT WAS AN ABOMINATION!

But never-the-less its the 2nd close beta of a KOREAN mmo… Why is any one deciding on weather its a good game or not NOW. its like you see the teaser trailer for Star Wars and is like ā€œEh… it sucks.ā€ The fact that there is an English version for us to play this soon is amazing.

And last-but-not-least… I dunno what y’all where expecting… I’ve been watching TOS since god…last year? i think… And so far i’ve gotten what i have expect, with a lot of bugs.

hahahah back to edditting…

Arguing about Ragnarok should be a bannable offense. There’s an undeniable draw from RO in ToS, and it is impossble to deny people who played RO are attracted to it. Get the ā– ā– ā– ā–  over it.

If you read the previous comments… some of us are just reminiscing the old days. no harm done.
But I do agree… some are being a bit whiney.

And as a matter of fact TOS should be greatful for those people who advertise this game as the soul successor of Ragnarok coz if it wasnt for them this forum is prolly empty

ā€œFunā€ has always been a subjective thing, influenced by alot of stuffs, expectations included.

The point is, IMC have to make this game fun to more people. Telling people not to expect so much isn’t a solution.

Ok people one more post where people will go and say how they didnt get ro 2 and people like me will say its not ro in the first place.
Can one of the so big amount of not pleased people go 2 all the posts and make a name list of people dont like the game /not hapy its not ro so we all can see just how big the problem is.
Becous lets be real you ont get even 100 people.in a game industry whete a mmo need somthing like 500k people 100 or even 100 is not event a problem.for a f2p game like tos it start be a problem onlly if they start lose paying players.

Oh, you mean those top 5 MMOs in Japan, Korea and US aren’t gigantic grindfests?

Upgrading gears on RO didn’t protect from those OP skills? ever heard of CARDS? they exist for that reason. (PVE/PVP)
TOS grind as it is now is not as rewarding as ROs. And I’m not talking bout end-game. talking bout low-level, no money grinding.

I don’t mind ppl comparing TOS with RO, but I find it funny how some of them cry that TOS is ā€œnothing like ROā€.

Well, iff you want to play RO, then do exactly that… play RO, not TOS, I guess?

Let’s see, even though they are different games, what most of the RO fans( which is a important and big part of the fan base) really want is not a game that will be the sequel of RO, but a game that embrace the RO spirit and freedom, that this game lacks for now. I don’t know if I can express myself in words how RO was a great and is still a good game( I like Renewal, sorry folks). But 3 core aspects come to my mind:

1- Freedom

You had the freedom to choose, your own path, your own leveling place, your own build. Sure there were optimal builds and optimal grinding spots, but each grinding spot was diferent for each class and unique in its own way, and you had to have diferent equipments to handle or to speed up your leveling. And even if we had optimal builds(Asura champ, AD Bio), there were lots of other builds that could be more effective in some aspects or could be more entertaining to the player. And remember, there were classes and builds more focused in PvM, PvP, MvP and WoE, so even if a asura champ was god in PvP, his PvM was painful. And one more thing, you didn’t have to be max level to be able to do any of the PvP, WoE or MvP content. In ToS, the build class aspect is present and has the potential to become even betten than in RO, but we still don’t have enough content to see the full scale of things( And they have to fix the str/int lack of importance). For the other freedom aspects, they lack so much that the game becomes less and less fun with time. Having lots of classes, and not having maps or bosses or quests that should make them important and unique is a huge downside for this game, and the linear path created actually disencorages people to create new classes, because the game feels the same, no matter the class. I can’t bring myself to create another character knowing that I have to do the same stuff over and over.

2- Equipment Costumization

One of the best aspects of RO that I wish we had in ToS is equipment costumization. We had all kinds of equipments for different situations with lots of cards and enchantments with cool effects to help the costumization even futher. Right now ToS fells like you will have only one set of gear that you will bring for endgame and that’s it, nothing like having gears for each map and situation, because most of the ToS maps have the same map/quest structure and mob style.

3- Social

I can’t play RO without interacting with other people. Even if I wanted, I can’t. The game was build that the players needed to interact. I had to interact to get information about the game, had to interact to create builds, had to interact in leveling grinding with parties, had to interact with other people for buying and selling itens or equips. Had to interact for killing mvps and doing quests. Had to interact a lot for WoE. Because the game didn’t throw in your face everything that you had to do to become stronger and better, you needed to seek other players and databases and quest guides and foruns to be able to progress. Right now, ToS still feels like a single player game, with coop aspects. You can clear everything till 150+(just because I haven’t got past there) soloing, because the quests and the grinding don’t need to you to party with someone to be cleared or even to look for information. They really need to pump it up the social features in this game to be as dinamic as is in RO.

Sorry for the wall of text, I, like everybody, as game developer myself just want to be able to help the creators to improve the game and make a memorable and unique experience.

It’s still valid feedback from people who intend to play this game. There is no ā€œmore validā€ feedback just because you agree to it or not, everyone is here to give their opinion on the game based on their expectations and experiences. Whether or not you like it a great chunk of the future players of this game will be RO veterans and their feedback too is something to be taken into account.

Thing is lots if this people asking for grind give more exp that a quest+ exp card will give for the same time.some hard core ro players they are.
Then there people asking there will be no quests ,they as 2 take out somrhing people having fun doing in the game.

I don’t think quests should be removed. there are some fun quests :3
but the game does feel linear because of it. Not because there’s a lot of quests. but because there’s a lack of events or something that’s not quest related. like bosses spawn outside of quest (everyone in the map gets to participate). or quests that are not told by npc. Something like the hidden quest in Royal Mausoleum Constructor F2. I see where they’re going with the map and the quests there, and I like it :3 it caters for people who want adventures.

Don’t get me wrong. I still love this game

Well, grinding gives a lot less exp than questing. I don’t see the issue with making grinding more rewarding.
