Tree of Savior Forum

I'm pretty sure this game is called Tree of Savior

Currently it’s more of a tree of botters and hacks than anything else.
Gameplay-wise, currently, it can be summarized as a linear theme park. You go questing until you are finished with the “tutorial” area, then be forced to repeat instances.

Messed up your cards and quests? I mean they give more right now than they will at launch so expecting to get through all your levels off the xp cards was never going to be viable anyways.

It’s also not very difficult to make more maps, especially if there purpose is just for grinding in. I can create a couple maps in a day if the editor is any good (as can any level designer who is probably better than me at it and has more experience).

I actually kind of think they already plan for more maps. There are a ton of “exit” points in maps that go nowhere but a dead end at the moment and the amount of them is increasing the higher level map I see. The contradiction to this theory is the world map which seems to be pretty rigidly planned out. Still it’s pretty strange that there’s so many long, narrow, exit looking sections on pretty much every map that go nowhere at the moment.

That’s not what I meant, but yeah, I get that.

It’s because this game has only 1/3 of the planned content

RO was a example of a MMORPG with extreme player interdependence, IMO. The classes themselves in TOS suggest that is what they were trying to achieve when they created classes like Dievdirby, Squire etc…

Edit: typos corrected

On the bright side, people doesn’t compare it to WoW.

… Damn it! What have i done!!

Is it a Green Peace game?

Is there one?

I just found out that our version is completely different from the Korean one, and the team that is managing ours is completely different from the Korean also, well makes sense.

Too late hahahahaha.

I think that goes by the taste of the player.

Where RO is Open World? It got massive maps, but Open World i don’t remember, unless its on the official one and it’s a recent update that i don’t know off.

Again, by the taste of the player, i myself prefer do quests specially if it allow me to explore the game world.

I agree on that, the current map set is nice and all, but they could fill lots of spaces and create more areas which would be good for who want to grind and even help who is questing to find monsters more easily.

Why late? Can be added as a xpack later i think, but as for going that way only they can decide and if they decide to do that it will take a long time too.

Its been a while since i saw someone speedhacking, maybe they out leveled me already lol, but bots? You mean the people who camp spawn points with the attack key triggered? It’s legit, but i don’t approve of it, it can be easily fixed if they make the spawns random and make the char stop after 1 minute of attacking in the same place, i think i saw something similar on other game, just don’t remember which one was.

I feel free with the classes here in ToS, tried so many combinations of builds and all of them proved viable at some point, but since the classes still need lots of balance i can’t make any affirmation if it will keep this aspect later on.

Initially it was announced as Project R1 and marketed as spiritual successor of RO.
Let be true to ourselves. > 90% of people in the iCBT2 are ex-RO players. Know and touch ToS because they missed the RO kind of feeling.

Whenever there are expectation not met, there are disappointments.
The bigger the expectation, the bigger the disappointment.

p.s. Even the companion AI is running on LUA.

People argue against game mechanics not because it’s different from RO. They argue because a lot of mechanics are just bad and the easiest thing how to express themselves is to compare it to RO.

OP is right. We should stop comparing Tree of Savior to good games like RO. If we do that Tree of Savior will look bad! We don’t want to play a bad game do we?

The thing is, everyone praise RO as if that game had 0 flaws. I played that game for 13 years(still play it now from time to time). If you take your nostalgia glasses off you’ll be able to see how many flaws that game had.

This game has the massive following it has now BECAUSE of the popularity of RO.

Asking for RO not to be mentioned in the forums of the game CLEARLY DESIGNED as the spiritual successor to RO is just asinine. It’s just not going to happen.

Projecting this much

I hear Ragnarok all the time, but the closest game Tree of Savior reminds me is Playstation One’s Legend of Mana. Heck, even the art style is similar.

I thought the whole Spiritual Successor was just a pitch-line (did I say that right?) from someone who made a blog about the game. I didn’t see or hear anything about IMC saying it.

That’s exactly it.
The devs themselves said that this game has nothing to do with RO.

Only when a certain race behaves so poorly that even non-racist people begin to hate them >.<

Are you expecting people to compare it to tetris after seing the graphics of ragna and the programmer of it on this game? Let me ask you fanboys one thing.
Which game did came up to your mind when you saw TOS?
