iDreamy's Guide to Scout C3

Thanks for the reply sir, this helps a lot.

So somehow I mistakenly put down this build even tho I didn’t mean to in another thread regarding world bossing. I would like to apologize here as I did in the other thread. With everyone’s pig headed views on what’s good, based on 2 year old Korean videos that aren’t even relevant anymore, fletcher is and will be (because its an overpowered piece of *** that wont get modified until god knows when) a good option for most things including world bossing. So I used this idea of flare shot resembling Magic arrow as a basis to basically rehash the exact thing I saw here, even hinting that I had an ounce of input into this particular setup is ridiculous and a mistake on my part .@Dream Hopefully this is enough to set thing straight because while I enjoy typing long paragraphs to include my exact thoughts on a subject most others don’t so I refrain from such.

That being said the only thing I had a question on is if you can take hunter instead of archer2 for more critical decrease on coursing to allow for more points in STR, or to aid the rest of the party since the same skill also offers a Mdef reduction. Thanks you for all the work you put in this guide and for all the help you’ve given me and others.

When I see newbie archers I point them here first, Ranger C3 is a joke, I hate fletchers, I think falcon is a waste of a rank and just people conforming to mages being the absolute in DPS and taking an entire circle just to be allowed into a party so that they have something to give to mages, and not exploring how they can make there own char better. Musketeer and cannoneer are unimpressive rank 7 with nothing but ridiculous 4K+400% modifiers attached to them, no synergy or thought put behind them, just big fat guns. So anything like this with potential to actually DO something in the late game without HAVING to take a rank 7 class is much appreciated.

Before I finish reading, sorry I misunderstood as well. I’ll clean up my reply on that other thread.

While Hunter is a strong alternative, Coursing is limited to just mobs while Snatching is limited to only flying targets although the nice part about this is it can be used as well on a flying boss. I still do not suggest Hunter though BUT it can compete.

Not really related to your build, but what is your opinion on 5/5 barrage without feint? If I do AR3 SC3, you think split arrow is just used too much to care about barrage? I have an AR3, and was wondering if I made a mistake of not going RA1. Thanks.

You don’t have to do anything or apologize. I just felt like typing it all out so nothing was left on the table, plus I just read the SR nerf from the Kots thread and im really salty right now. Because I messed up on 2 level 136+ archers already and im looking to reroll into another build. Witchmore than likely will be this one coincidentally.

That being said there are a LOT of hidden synergies//combos in here. How long before they clean up//fix any of them? It wont take much to change things for better//worse.

Also thoughts on the hunter? I think archer c2 is better for the swift step but not sure.

Edited my previous reply.

Barrage itself is a good AOE w/ or w/o Feint. It just becomes an extremely potent bossing skill with Feint or a single combo to sweep those tanky mobs with 100k+ HP at higher level grinding areas.

Split Arrow’s biggest weakness is being limited to just 3 targets but Barrage can increase it’s AOE capability as long as you stack AOE attack ratio, ALTHOUGH if you’re following this exact same build, I do not suggest AOE attack ratio because a Scout C3 focused build should not be focusing on the classes around it. Flare Shot is true AOE, Split Arrow is not affected by AOE attack ratio as well.

Ok so im about to reroll into this build just had a few questions.

For stats I don’t think I can justify going pure STR without any access to anything but a couple of lvl 3 green gems and a skull bow from my other archer (maybe a couple other things but not sure.)

3:1 seems alright and will definitely help given my lack of high level gems//ā€œnice stuffā€ what would you think about doing 3:1 until about 100 dase dex then going full STR? also like I cant deal with no con. Its wonderfull that people can gear themselves with stuff for more hp but I don’t see how im going to make it to rank 6+ with 4K hp cuz bad gear//no monies.

Thank you so much!!!

Just thinking, if your low on funds, and dislike sp potting alot, will leaving split arrow at lvl1 be sufficient for leveling?, will that 300-400 dmg extra really make a diff?

The second hit from it do less damage than the first one…

Invest 30 stat points on CON. That should make it fine not taking any HP boost items/gears. 3:1 is my build at the moment is the evasion and decent crit rate from it is great. Although I still have a plan to reset to pure STR eventually.

Incoming math. This comparison is considering your base damage is at average 1200 patk.

Lv1 Split Arrow
100%+332
332/1200 = 27.6% improvement on both the main hit and bounced hits.

Lv5 Split Arrow
100%+631
631/1200 = 52.6%

But let’s say you want to think ahead using end-game stats, 1800 base patk,

Lv1 Split Arrow
100%+332
332/1800 = 18.4%

Lv5 Split Arrow
100%+631
631/1800 = 35%

As you can see, it’s still quite the drastic improvement. You can farm fast anyways so spending silvers on Lv10 CSP won’t be a problem.

It’s really common for most players to be misled by some game mechanic. If I say that Spiral Arrow also has 100% modifier each yet it has some weaker hits. Does that mean the skill is actually weak and the modifier is a lie? The answer is no.

IMC sometimes puts some unnecessary damage randomizer on skills just so it improves game aesthetics. This especially can be seen on Seism and Spiral Arrow, of course there are other skills too.

To check how these modifiers actually work is you test your damage output using a weapon with the smallest damage variance + using a -max attack gem on it to make the damage output more stable.

After that, you can now finally test the damage of a skill. It’s better to do this w/o any crit rate or any additive damage blabla etc.

So for example, I tested Twin Arrows. Let’s say it did a total damage of 200.
I then equipped a head costume with +40 patk and did another damage test. It became a total of 280 damage.

So as you can see, I did not test how the damage fluctuates but instead checked the total damage dealt and how it improved. Having an 80 damage increase with just an additional 40 patk means the modifier is 200%. 40*2 = 80.

IMO FLoki giving away statements like ā€œThe second hit from it do less damage than the first oneā€¦ā€ makes you look naive as you would only look at the cover then judge. I’m not trying to offend you again, I’m just being frank here.

Thanks. Always appreciate the figures. Still using the mana pots given from missions and dinnt need to buy any yet. But I’m pretty darn sure sp will be used alot when split arrow finally comes in.
Got +5 9 potent(before buying in market) khasti bow for 750k on Telsai servers. Seemed like a good buy and I’ll need to go for gem farming soon I guess, do you guys usually burn mats or hunt gems to enhance them?

Upgrading alone to +5 already cost around 600k+ so it’s a good buy~
buy and burn mats
Fixed.

Farming mats or gems? Ain’t nobody got time fo that. Especially with a Scout C3 where you are most efficient at getting silvers really fast so you could just buy what you want.

I see, no offense taken.

Imo, the second hit just dont take elemental damage into account, I was talking about that with a archer c3>scout c3 friend, and he just said the same thing. My first char was a archer c3, and I saw that all the time…

I cant test twin arrow again rigth now, as my first char was deleted long ago, I will just take my in game friend and my past experience IN GAME with this skill.

Any archer c3 is wellcome to say Im wrong, anyway, Im 99% sure that the second hit never takes elemental damage into account.

Also, I usually test stuff with broken crossbows or with low lvl crossbows, as I can use the small damage variance, but I will try to use - max attack gem to get better results, nice idea, thanks.

PS> twin arrows changed a lot from ICBT2

Found a video.

See for yourself at 1:57 to 1:59. And again at 4:21 to 4:22. And AGAIN at 5:44. MORE AT 5:46. AND AGAIN at 5:58. Want more? Again at 6:22. More: 6:30 ~ 6:31, 6:32, 6:33.

I could not see just a SINGLE time when the second hit does more damage than the first one.

Coincidence? ā€œunnecessary damage randomizerā€ ?

hm…

can i have the link to this SR nerf thread you mentioned? thank you

Ahhh, that is what you meant. It’s like the same case for Backstab. The 2 hits are just considered 1 hit thus it only applies additive bonuses from Arde, Blessing, etc once.

Same case with Seism. Spiral Arrow must be special case though as you said because it applies Blessing per tick? Though I actually don’t believe that, I still think Spiral Arrow is considered 1 hit with 600% modifier and has a damage randomizer.

Nah. :joy:

Im just too lazy to search for a video and shows you again that spiral arrow get blessing, elemental dmg, etc, on every single tick.

EDIT:

This is rigth, but the skill only hits one time.

one miss or one hit

one block

all critical or all non critical

Still, Every single ā€œfakeā€ mult hit got blessings bonus.

Strange.

@Dream

You don’t need to search a video. Steady Aim’s +100 damage from attributes works the same as Blessing. Test it and make a video yourself.

I will do it later…But whats the point?

I had tested it a lot in game.

EDIT:

With new addons was easier to see whats the point of spiral arrow and I was wrong.

Edited all my above posts.
