that is true, but I do get what @nammyjaja is pointing at tho. Rank7 Classes should at least be equal or specialize on their own niche no matter what their C1 Rank came from. A c3 monk can be compared to a c1 PD.
If you compare it to a PD2 tho, then thats a different story. kek. since we all know the powerspike rank8 had from rank7. lol

It doesn’t matter bc classes before rank 7 doesn’t have huge base damage regardless if their C2 and C3 passes the rank 7 mark.

Classes below rank 7 will never come close to DPS rank 7+ even with all the buffs and nerfs.You people need to understand that.

I see what you mean tho and this is by the game design so basically Monk is always gonna be obsolete according to this game design kek. i mean they were already so weak compared to other rank 7 before rank8 release but yea

That’s why they come with synergy combos like Paladin and Inquistor,Pelt/Rod/Hop and Murmillo and others.To compensate their damage.

the strike debuff time increement attribute is exclusively for Monk Circle 3, not 1, though…

well, the red Class ornament on Cleric was a real death flag until Rank 8 when Inquisitor came to bring a useful damage dealing Class onto the Cleric table. Monk and Sadhu are both really bad damagedealers, and Bokor is mediocre at best, not noticeable unless you get a 315 weapon+transcendence to boost your overall damage high enough…

It’s sad,though, that Bokor is the only thought-through Class within the 3 damagedealers of Rank 3,4 and 5. Seeing how most of his skills provide useful effects only for himself and his zombies + damage skills on all Ranks, he’s superior to Sadhu, and Effigy spam is by far better than Double Punching because you don’t have to stay close to the enemy all the time.

Back on topic:
The changes to the skills seem good at first glance, but they still don’t solve the problem that investing more than 1 point is nonsense and that the CD times are way too high to make them an alternative to Double Punch.
Double Punch is still like advanced autoattacking, which gives you an advantage over putting your points into Hand Knife, Palm Strike,etc.

These skills are still debuff skills because of their CD time, doubling or tripling their damage doesn’t help that much here[unless the power creep gets real from Rank 8 onwards]…

Also, by pulling out that card, how do they think to balance this with Pardoner? Giving Indulgentia 300-400% and Decatose 200% base damage? I honestly believe that ROs after cast delay system was superior to CD times on skills, as gameplay with CD feels way more static and limiting than delay by animation/skill execution…

Again, we don’t want PS/HK to simple be DP clones. It’s good to have long CD skills. With the proposed changes I can already see them potentially hitting for 199k (dmg cap) which is a good thing.

@Chuse And If they then bring up EB’s damage the I think we got a viable DPS class.

[running shot] lv7 is a 380% damage mod with ~77% uptime(420% if you have the gem, good luck with that). That roughly translates to a 292% damage mod.

DP fully invested is a 400% damage mod with 100% uptime. Even with just a 50% investment you are already pulling away from RS’s 292%.

That could be the other way around. Monk damage has to be “like that” BECAUSE they come with those combos. Chicken or the egg. Which ever came first, this is what the monk has to deal with now.

I would comment that this is the case because bokor skills are so different from each other that they fulfill different roles and “don’t step on each other’s toes”. DP, HK, PS & OIP are all the same where DP >>> all. EB is the only skill that is different.

All that aside, as much as I like the changes, the monk is still just a swordie that can heal. It is still going to be worse off because the swordie at least can go to the later ranks while the monk is stuck in r5-7.

exactly that’s the problem with monks… like they’re stuck at r7 max with nothing to complement them… inquisitor is the only choice for rank8 for dmg… BUT inquisitor is its own independent class, it doesn’t need monk to do its job (thats why diev3-oracle-kabba-inqui is meta) and tbh it feels more like a progression for pally.

monk just needs a follow up booster class like what pelt and rode got with murmillo (and like what pally got with inquisitor)… hidden class for monk c3 or rank9 class for monk plz…

cos most magic clerics probably go plague c3 in rank9 or taoist2

Tbh, my Inquis would be a lot shitter without Monk1 in the build. Too many people jumped on the Diev3-Inq hype train.

In my server, I’m one of the top DPS when it comes to WB and it’s partially thanks to having Monk in my build. People are starting to realise this and have re-rolled chars that copies my build.
