Ideas for Monk improvement!

yea but thats becos of doing constant dmg via DP and some strike debuffs/armor break from monk right? its obvious you’re gonna have more dps than diev/kabba/oralce peeps

but if ur just comparing monk3 (a rank7) on its own without inqui( a rank 8) , the gap is so huge. like really big gaps in dmg.

Being “stuck” at r5-7 isn’t a “bad thing”. All classes deal with it. Bokor is r3-5 but still gets used (because it has good design and synergy with the classes that came out after it).

This is another case where monk gets used successfully because monk1 … I mean DP is so good. I used to think the entire monk kit was garbage but thanks to @Wrathior I think only monks 2 and 3 are garbage now.

It wasn’t obvious either. The wrath-monk was mostly ridiculed for “building like that” until it started taking 1st place.

that’s the whole point of this thread though… monk 2 and 3 are ???

and some people just wanna play monk to make it work and they feel like investing in C2 and C3 is so unrewarding cos of bad scaling and skills :S

They really just need to make the other skills ‘worth’ using over DP because as it stands (and it’s been repeated many times here), using anything other than DP is a DPS loss.

PS/HK already seem be going down that path. I’m just waiting for them to improve EB now. The faster cast time is good, but I’d like to see the damage get boosted too, and by a lot. Just like Dopp is worth taking more ranks for better cyclone, I think EB should be a staple skill for Monk where you want to take more ranks into it.

The rest of the Monk kit could use tweaks too but I think they are low priority.

Fix our dmg first. PLEASE

Yeah, and I got what I wanted, ~200% damage mods each to HK & PS skill just like DP. C’mon dev, give me 0cd HK & PS bwahahahahahah.

After thinking though, you’re right. These are monk 1 buffs … well OIP is r2 but all this mostly does is improve r1 which a lot of people already agree is “in a good place”.

yea exactly ! monk1 i feel it’s not bad. but 2 and 3 are so lackluster and serves no purpose lol (i mean oracle c2 is eh too but at least C3 you can gender change people - thats a purpose lol)

EB needs buff/rework big time. /2000000000000000

Sad thing is that currently, Eblast can be easily out-DPSed by Double Punch since it offers nothing but mediocre damage.

I’ve also come to realize that the new damage modifiers would be good in junction with inquisitor’s wheel. Though I think Paladin-Inquis still has better burst with wheel.

This thread dead now? Just want to suggest if Monks can be revamped to tie the cooldown of monk skills (Palm strike, Hand knife, etc) with how much Double Punch you spam? Maybe balance it by giving more cooldown to the skills but the overall picture is to be able to use more monk skills other than Double Punch more frequently. It’ll be interesting to put it in place at least.

Monk:
Double Punch:
- Skill’s hitbox range has been increased by 20%.

Palm Strike:
- Now inflicts additional damage to the target based upon the target’s defense.
*( However, The additional damage cannot exceed the maximum damage)
- 150% Attack modifier has been added to the skill.

Hand Knife:
- Now inflicts additional damage to the target based upon the target’s SPR Stat.
*( However, The additional damage cannot exceed the maximum damage)
- 200% Attack modifier has been added to the skill.

One Inch Punch:
- 150% Attack modifier has been added to the skill.

(NEW!) ‘Monk: Sustained Strike’ Attribute :
- Increases the debuff duration on the [Double Punch] and [God Finger Flick] by 5 seconds.
- * This is unlocked at Circle 3, and has a mastery level of 1.

Let’s say an average damage on the previous Palm Strike is 4800 x 1.5 = 7200 damage with the 150% increase. If the remaining damage which is around100-200 is the bonus for the armor, seems pretty low.

But then I think the video didnt’ show that bonus and couldve just shown us the 150% increase modifier. And from what we can see, the mobs didnt even take the bleeding DoT, so it seems most likely.

Only way to find out is when we get the update and actually test for ourselves. kek

It seem that SPR will be a good stat because why else would they put this

Nobody really goes SPR in the game.I believe SPR will reduce CD’s and increase buff duration in the future.

my guess is that they made it into SPR since most monks, if not all, took inquisitor with at least 1 skillpoint on Malleus Maleficarum and malleus damage already scales with enemies’ INT. Only downside is that you cant palmstrike after a malleus since the enemies’ SPR is halved as well… kek. But really, the only way for us to know is if these are already applied to us.

How about Monk being a tank killer?

Double Punch needs to hit like 4-6 times even if they don’t buff the damage to make it better and Energy Blasts needs to have more damage or not have a 60 second cooldown, I feel like 30-40 seconds is good. Golden Bell Shield must have a fast cooldown, like 14 seconds as stated in the balance talks.
One last hing, yeah, Monk should be the 0 cooldown class, I bought 150 sp potions in Monk C1 when I became Inquisitor I still had 145 sp potions. Those are used when I had to continously cast heal, buffs and revive during a grinding session never due to combat.

We still didn’t get the range increase to Double Punch, the new C3 attribute for the strike debuffs and the boost in damage multipliers

i didnt get the changes on the golden bell skill… what is happening? l,5 sec of a skill is nothing ;-;
