Ideas for Monk improvement!

3-5s cd. It’s a twitch skill that is channeled. Against monsters, you get to do stuff in between slow attack intervals. Against players, you either kill some melee or you both do nothing. The cd keeps the monk from turtling completely.

This is what I’m asking for. I said “make HK & PS like DP”. HK would be DP but slash and PS would be DP but pierce. Each 1 would be 200% damage mods just like how DP is currently a 200% damage mod.

I chose 200% because I also proposed HK & PS be 0cd skills letting you chose which 1 to use depending on your target’s armor type. At least in this case you get to ask and answer “which do I use now” or “when do I use this”. This is part of my proposal so as to not change the current playstyle too drastically.


With DP as a baseline, we get to tweak numbers now in terms of dps.

If we want to stay with the current “all strike type” and “same skill cd” conditions:
HK 15s cd = DP + something = DP + armor break
PS 15s cd = DP + something = DP + bleed
It is no longer a dps loss to HK & PS every 15 sec.

I’d rather keep them as strike with better modifiers so you can use them as hard hitting CD skills too. It’d still be improvement for solo play but even better when teamed.

new monk buffs from kTest server:

aside from those talked about on the 7th balance talk(double punch side-to-side range increase, Hand Knife scaling on enemies’ INT, Palm Strike on enemies def,etc)

The skills now have ATK scaling:
Palm Strike-150%
Hand Knife-200%
One Inch Punch-150%

Also we got a new Attribute which I couldnt figure out with Google Translate. kek. its a C3 Attribute which says increases debuff by 5seconds.

Here,

Double Punch - AoE range is now the same as normal attacks

Palm Strike - 150% damage multiplier. Deals additional damage proportional to the enemies’ defense

Hand Knife - 200% damage multiplier. Deals additional damage proportional to the enemies’ SPR

One Inch Punch - 150% damage multiplier

Monk Circle 3 New attribute - Increases the duration of the Strike debuffs from Double Punch and God Finger Flick by 5 seconds. Max level 1

Are you sure is SPR and not INT

Based on the text, yeah it is SPR despite previous balance talk mentioning INT

so with the new changes on Palm Strike, One Inch Punch, and Hand Knife, still think theyre worth it to be more than 1-point wonders?

Palm and Knife will still be one point wonders.

Glad to see Monk buffs but there’s still no reason to get more than Monk1 lol

yeah, what they fail to realize is that we didnt have much of a problem with these skills being just debuffs. We have other skills that are better at max level.
As what I’m seeing, Monk is quite similar to Wugushi-QS builds where they deal DoTs and then spam autoattack skills. The problem with monk is that we dont have the atk modifier of QS’ running shot, or the potency of Wugu’s DoTs. Our strike modifiers arent as good as Rodelero, our Armor Break isnt as good as Pelt3s. Not to mention we dont have the specialized gear for strike damage like Oghma Gloves.

The balance are nice and all, but again, they didnt really bring much to our table. Even the C3 attribute is nice, but still kinda meh with what Monk has to offer. At least maybe the +5sec strike debuffs will enable us to deal better damage. They shouldve put the atk modifier on Double Punch and that wouldve been sickening as dps. lol.

Still hoping for a buff/rework on Iron Skin, Eblast, and please at least make GBS Party share thing have bigger aoe. Been running Solmiki with my cl2-diev3-monk3, and GBS AoE range is so bad its unreliable. kek.

ye the problem is with Monk c2 and c3 being lackluster and nothing to offer at all… in terms of good sustained dmg… lol

whilst PD2 have it all and they even get buffed with overheats on their skills kek

If they don’t want to add any other attribute to Monk Skills,t hey could at least:
A.) Make Palm Strike/One Inch Punch DoTs Tick Faster
or
B.) SImiliar to the Wugu buff, attributes on the respective skills increase it’s DoT and not just the initial damage (this would make monk a HUGE money sink and still not worth the investment imo. Also, not to mention how huge of a Money Sink DP attribute 1-100 is. 61.9m in total. KEK. “Lets make your 4kdmg to 8kdmg with 61m. yay!”)

with 61m, you couldve transcended your weapon to trans4-midway-trans5. LEWL. that wouldve given you if not more, up to par damage with DP attri100, as well as overall damage on your DoTs and other skills.

Unless youre probably like some RMT God.

Quite sad how for monk to actually be good is that you’ll need to be as RMTed as that. Monks are for the Meme, kek. I’m in a Solmiki pt not because im Monk3, but because I’m diev3. If I wasnt diev3 or the alternate Priest-Monk build, it would be unlikely for me to get into a PT. Unless, like what I said earlier, get as much good coughRMTedcough gear to compensate your evident weakness. kekhue

IMC hasnt been clear on what niche they want Monk to be since it equally Mediocre for PvP and PvE.

My DP hits for 20k on cloth. What’s this 4k business?

I just based this on the average damage DP can make from monk1s-3s(since all of them can pump up DP to attri100)
Also, 20k as crit? what weapon? and how many attri?

I have 100% crit.
