3-5s cd. It’s a twitch skill that is channeled. Against monsters, you get to do stuff in between slow attack intervals. Against players, you either kill some melee or you both do nothing. The cd keeps the monk from turtling completely.
This is what I’m asking for. I said “make HK & PS like DP”. HK would be DP but slash and PS would be DP but pierce. Each 1 would be 200% damage mods just like how DP is currently a 200% damage mod.
I chose 200% because I also proposed HK & PS be 0cd skills letting you chose which 1 to use depending on your target’s armor type. At least in this case you get to ask and answer “which do I use now” or “when do I use this”. This is part of my proposal so as to not change the current playstyle too drastically.
With DP as a baseline, we get to tweak numbers now in terms of dps.
If we want to stay with the current “all strike type” and “same skill cd” conditions:
HK 15s cd = DP + something = DP + armor break
PS 15s cd = DP + something = DP + bleed
It is no longer a dps loss to HK & PS every 15 sec.
