I mean i’ve been playing for a while an it’s cool with friends an such, but theirs these bot’s they keep coming an it’s pissing people off I would suggest a clean wipe an have everyone starting from scratch an a hardcore bot ip blocker thing cause it’s getting frusterating af. However I do appreciate the updates on the gameplay an optimization but what good is a game if people can’t enjoy it let alone the company is profitting properly from something that could be truly successful I mean look at the reviews their mixed it’s not good or bad but it’s just small issues that are sinking your boat’s anyway i’ll continue to play cause I like it inspite what other’s may think.
A clean wipe ? Starting from scratch ? Seriously ?
People have spent one year leveling all kinds of characters, restarting them, farming dungeons and maps to get their weapon, their enhancement items, crying blood rerolling cubes to get what they wanted, not counting everything they bought, etc., and you want a wipe just to stop some bots ?
I’m pretty sure there are other less extreme solutions.
I don’t even understand how you can think it’s a good idea… Wipe a year of work, punishing all their players, just to get rid of some botters. How counterproductive.
I would quit if there was a wipe.
Wow for someone who have been playing “for a while” to suggest a clean wipe is just wow. I have started playing since Founder’s Early Access and leveled 6 of my chars to 325+, done most quest and participated to almost all of the events to gain precious items and farmed mats for hours for my armors and weapons and you’ll suggest a clean wipe because IMC cannot handle the bots.
i don’t mind if there was a wipe as long as the material drop rates aren’t this ridiculous, they really dealt with the bots at a snail pace and majority of the players got away with buying the silver for dirt cheap, in the end imc got less money out of it because those players didn’t need to buy cash shop items to trade via silver or items. there is no way they would wipe though…
majority of the bots use vpns so your suggestion is far from the solution, they need proper bot detection or a better countermeasure such as random captchas / anti-bot monster that spawns when alot of monsters were killed with reflect.
players i know quit when they get lost, they never think of googling the maps because they didn’t expect to research or study to enjoy the game.
some people make the biggest mistake not grinding at a certain level range
i didn’t look for a guide when i first played but i was prepared and saved my cards for later incase the leveling becomes tough later on, fortunately for me i made the right choice
if only those people considered to grind lv.25~lv.30 strautus gorge / lv.30~lv.37 tenet garden / lv.37~45 tenet church and use the exp cards after (atleast save the lv.3 cards to reach lv.50 asap for the instance dungeon) they would have still been playing.
party grinding is fun but it doesn’t really happen until the higher levels because players don’t bother interacting with strangers atleast in the na servers until lv.205-208 when you can join alemeth forest grind, i had a blast partying there for the mobs.
dungeons are also unnecessarily long, generic and boring, some late game dungeons require proper gear but that means it requires rare material farming or silver farming which is hard to come by when you’re new so yeah there are alot more things that chase the playerbase away.
some recipes have ridiculous material requirements, like who the hell would want to craft a carpenter’s glove when nobody can farm firent’s skin?
it’s so annoying to only be able to pvp on a set time, many players want proper competition and it’s not new if you haven’t noticed tera and blade&soul far older mmorpgs yet have many open world pk… we did not get what we deserved… instead we get a pvp arena on a certain time
it makes me want to play ragnarok everytime i run this game but if they had proper pk with better ways to obtain pk points…
speaking of ragnarok i’m sure everyone knows exploration meant alot in RO, it meant discovering new places, monsters and even friends however the exploration in tree of savior felt linear, it’s just your average generic quest grinder, clear quest then move on to the next map rinse & repeat.
this game is more similar to legend of edda than ragnarok which i found surprising i mean LoE atleast had proper openworld pvp (infact they have faction vs faction which lead to proper competition) they did have a similar pk except it was in capture the flag format with 100 players (50 vs 50 or even 100 vs 100) it’s sad that tos can’t even handle 10 vs 10 when this old game can lol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFoKS748Gnw
boss fights usually keep me interested in mmorpgs but that wasn’t the case for tree of savior considering that there are always people soloing or have a party to wipe it before other players get to even witness the boss, it’s also quite boring to fight certain bosses with billion hp, i wouldn’t mind fighting that on RO since you can reach high attack speed also without worrying about ping.
global tree of savior needs better servers if they want the attack speed from dex to work… i can’t believe i get 300-500 ms after they moved silute to south america, did they accidentally move klaipedia to south america or something? i usually have 170 ms on other games…

To be honest, people complaining bots either in RO or ToS is really questionable about how or what objectives in your game… There are a lot of legit ways to farm silver and leveling is all about having fun, if you get bored with dungeons then do quests/hunting grounds.
Stop thinking that you’re losing competition or even think about MMORPGs are about getting ultimate equipments or get billions in-game money which is impossible without pay2win or illegal/grey area farmings like bots/AFK farming… Other games are same anyway and ToS still a bit tame as my reason to sticking to this game
Which bots? Those that spam shout and pms? Those make people quit? lol.
Nah the bot’s that like stealing peoples kills an teleporting everywhere <.<
When I said clean wipe I didn’t mean for people to have their character’s entirely wiped I mean people can keep their character’s I meant a wipe removing all the bot’s entirely is what I was referring as clean. Should’ve been more clear about that mybad.
A wipe would kill the game completely. End of game.
IP blocking hasn’t been done by anybody that isn’t stupid since the 90s. It’s a stupid way to block anything, doesn’t work, and falsely affects innocent people all the time.
One bad person getting IP blocked in an entire dorm building for 2000 people gets everyone in the building blocked.
MAC address blocking is used, is safe, but is also bypassable just as easily as IP blocking.
There are these things called full-stops and capital letters. They’re useful for making posts pleasant and readable. Please use them.
I don’t really know what you’re talking about with stealing kills and teleporting everywhere. The number of bots in the game right now is at an alltime low and is honestly significantly lower than the recently released f2p RevO.
It’s actually huge problems that are chasing the playerbase away, not small things.
It’s hard to say that the playerbase is being chased away at all while it’s rising to be fair.
No, the playerbase was ALREADY chased away, it’s just that some people are coming back now that IMC is finally making some indication that they’re fixing their mistakes. The population already dropped like a stone in the first couple months and has continued to steadily decline until very recently. It’s impossible to say yet if the new or returning players are going to stick around, considering there was a brief shining spike when they released rank resets and then it tanked even harder than it was dropping before the month afterwards. This could just be a blip. There are still serious core issues that need addressing and I seriously hope they jump on it quickly now that the rebalance patch is out in kToS.
serious core issues
Instead of painting in broad sweeps, help out by explaining which issues you care about most goat. I don’t think it’s very constructive to just speak quite so broadly as opposed to labelling exactly what they are and what should be done about them.
Particularly when everyone that talks about issues seems to have a different idea of what matters and what does not.
I think once pvp/gvg issues are addressed it will bring a good portion of people back.
Objective-Based GVG is kinda needed in MMORPGs. Dailies and old content can only keep your attention for so long.
I’ve done so numerous times in the past.
Do we want to set an example to the new forum users to post constructively or just talk as if everything in the game is broken and we hate everything about it?
I’ve never seen what you care about. So I’m asking you now.
Two recent examples.
Ok so for the sake of this thread so people don’t need to click-through, what you consider core issues are:
- Linearity of questing/levelling.
- Endgame being low due to being too hard to participate in Lolo/Solmiki. And the removal of worldbossing.
- Class balance.
- Gear variety.
Is that a correct assessment of those two links?
I’d also add the sad state of PVP/GVG to this for people who are interested in that aspect of the ‘endgame’. I have some parallel complaints about leveling PVP characters and pre-endgame PVP/GVG, so I guess just PVP in general and its place in the game, in addition to general balance.
I wouldn’t even say ET/Solmiki are too hard to participate in, they’re just overall extremely specialized. Having one kind of specialized endgame content disenfranchises most builds in a game designed around multiple diverse class builds; E.G. the pre-R8 meta of World Boss characters got people to complain enough that instead of making more endgame content or making world bosses more approachable they just put a limit on how often you can do WBs and eventually phased them out completely - now the post-R8 meta is strictly ET/Solmiki characters with nobody else having much of value to do except open their RNG cube every day and pray. So, there’s another issue - the game’s direction is in my opinion moving in the exact opposite direction, closing off options instead of opening them up, and introducing more daily login incentives like the mystical cube instead of real content.
That’s just core gameplay issues, too, not even considering horrendous optimization problems, bugs, and the expedience of IMC in addressing serious issues. For example just recently we had the dungeon reset bug plaguing the game for a while, and as soon as that was fixed we’ve got attribute timers freezing and locking new players out from training their attributes. Bugs like these in particular will chase new players away when they run into them, and should be squashed with much more urgency than IMC has shown.
