I demand justice for my ban

“I am a law-abiding citizen for 20 years. One day I killed 15 people with a bomb. I should not be getting life imprisonment/death sentence because it was my first offence and I was a good citizen for 20 years.”

IMC just wants to deter these kinds of abuse/hacks because if they show a weak side, it tells people that they can abuse the system and at the end of the day, as long as they apologize for their mistake, they can get away with it.

“B-B-But I’m Founder Pack Owner who has spent over 99,999 TP and played 3 years in the game!?”

To be fair, how often do unban threads succeed in getting bans removed? Banbas Cave I dub thee “Interrogation Room”.

thank you for your good job  keep it up

Oh wow this was much of text to read…

Im pretty new… i installed the Game via Steam and get startet.

I never talk to a GM or have much money anyway… like about 5 mio at all? Thats poor isn it?
So what i read is that the GMs seems strech there rules like they want…
There are Players who can BUY out the whole Market and also kontroll it with massive amount of money.
I wasnt able to finisch a quest because of AFK farming guys…
There are Areas where u can stay easy afk without makro and get exp and wont get any DMG.
And u guys punish me and my boyfriend for haven only 2 accounts?
And i never looked in this forum even dont know it exist… ur Hamepage is more like an big advertising than a homepage at all…
So why there are no notifications via mail or Steam?
And are all GMs so personally involved and not professional?
Im sooooooooooo glad that we are get banned … we play now FF14

Tiana IS OUT!

how much money did you make afking in those pillars for hours?
now ask yourself.
how much money does a player who doesnt stand for hours on those pillars make?
a guy said he make 200m straigh silver just by afking on the pillars
Do you think thats fair for everyone i mean i really dont care i can make money just by doing cms all day, cuz i actually enjoy playing the game, but new players see you one member of the strongest guild on klaipeda doing that and just copycat you, and thats not good for anyone

“I mAdE a FoRuM pOsT”
The forum is for salt, Bob, not news.

I bet a lot of people shitting on Nulight are using OP Genbu or Scout Evasion bug for “illicit gains”.
Such a toxic and hypocritical community here in ToS.

Thanks for the popcorn. Kinda sounded like both parties are in the wrong a bit, but since corrupt behavior is so commonplace in ToS the ban seems even more unfair.

All activity is relevant in an account ban, years-ago or not. It doesn’t matter what probed the investigation.
,BUT
When a heavy portion of the population are breaking the EULA every day, well then wtf are you banning a couple of accounts for?
REALLY
You seem to expect everyone to tiptoe around ToS’ absolute trash game design, even though you let MANY people get away with it on the daily

Maybe Staff would get more support if they were consistent and professional.

The way this issue is being handled gives little hope for the future, and I didn’t think that I would care before reading the this thread.

Making an example of someone once in a while is a lazy way to enforce the law of the land.

Should all Swordies stop using Bear for now? plz advise

I like how you conveniently dodged the 50+ accounts he mentioned. And keep dodging it throughout the thread, it seems.

Because the GMs personally know every single player in the game, as well as every detail in their personal lives and their connections to every other player in the game. I’m sure that ends up being a pretty big chart; maybe that explains why they can’t get anything about the game done, they’re too busy stalking players and recording their interactions with each other! (and their cats)

“I exploited a thing but it’s definitely their fault”

Yeah but fishing for exploits/abuse from any Melody person is like fishing here:

Is it really fishing if you do nothing but talk trash and spend most of your time doing things which dip in and out of legitimacy, even by your own admission?

Most true statement in this thread.

They should have Restricted a Content or a Map if its still incomplete or exploitable until its fix. (ahem boruta)

Anyway Keep Up the Good work @STAFF_Bob (Side note: please remove boruta cause the seal is so strong and its being monopolize by certain peeps and its pretty much a meh content. RIP PVE Players ).

That’s what it comes to. GM banning only the few select players they don’t like, because:

The GM in question (and same Staff answering) is actually a player from a certain guild that dislikes the player and the guild the current banned player is in. They do know about their life. xd

As to why I’m answering here… let me pick the ban reasons the said GM provided and a breakdown of sentences:

  1. “We didn’t ban you because you were AFK farming in Baubas.”

Not a valid ban reason as per GM own justification.

  1. “It seems that someone in your household(lol it was your cat wasn’t it?) had created 50+ accounts to exploit an event that was started out of good will towards players”

Assumptions and guesses aside. I’ve got tired of discussing this with players before and never seen an update about it.

The conclusion was none. Then I decided to send tickets to clarify if I was actually reporting right things or not.

Result: It was allowed as per ticket.

What the issue with this ban case?
-> The justification was never explicitly disallowed.
-> The same reason was explicitly allowed before (via ticket).

For example:
A) As per IMC own words, AFK farming by itself (without 3rd party tools) isn’t a violation of natural progression of the game. (As per GM justification.)

B) Getting 200m from a bug and keeping it isn’t a violation of natural progression of the game. (As per case by case analysis of the text within this thread.)

C) Win trading and match-fixing to manipulate GvG rankings isn’t a violation of natural progression of the game. (As per old cases and reports.)

D) People logging in 10+ necromancer accounts and funneling resources into one isn’t a violation of natural progression of the game. (As per ticket.)

E) Players using multiple accounts for album opening parties aren’t violating the natural progression of the game. (As per ticket.)

F) People using multiple accounts on previous events (i.e, Diamond Anvils) aren’t violating natural progression of the game. (As per ticket, per previous announcements, per KToS announcements etc.)

G) Abusing an overpowered class skill bug to beat challenges easily aren’t violating the natural progression of the game.

There’s a lot of issues with IMC if they decide to go for case by case judgments in this question such as:
I) Rigging the rules in case of GM power abuse as justification of their actions.

II) Actual player’s compliment of the rules.
-> If having alts is explicitly disallowed: less people uses it.
-> If having alts is explicitly allowed: more people uses it.
-> If funneling resources is explicitly disallowed: less people uses it.
-> If funneling resources is explicitly allowed: more people uses it.

From experience dealing with this game player base there’s a history that a lot of players will try the maximum to get profit as long it’s within the rules boundaries.

But if the rules boundaries themselves aren’t clear and similar, very profitable, cases were explicitly allowed before by sentences that covers other similar very profitable activities… big issues like this thread happens.

If for once IMC learned to be explicit a lot of things could have been prevented. Not only on the offending cases but also in regards to why people got tired of being in unfair situations and sometimes quitting the game (i.e. GvG match fixing/skill bugs in the past, Boruta, PvP issues, AFK farming and economy).

III) Promoting hate: Players ends up calling each others for cheating and huge discussions occurs. No sides actually have any basis for their claims. This can heavily split communities as seem before regarding PvP skill abuses, ranking manipulation etc.

IV) Actual number of players helping GMs in making the game clean. Many players on a lot of corners knows or have seen little dirty secrets of others in this game since the start. What’s exactly a valid report reason? What isn’t?

Players doesn’t report only what affects them, if you have clean directives on what’s allowed and what’s not your work will be easier, not harder.

V) Ban appeals & drama: cherry picking (no pun intended) without clean directives will always have huge backlashes or fill forums with something similar to what’s happening right now.

  1. “and your “wife’s” account was funneling massive amounts of CM portals, monster albums and etc to “your” account.”

Not a valid ban reason as per ticket.

Let’s get into semantics… as previously stated in this thread, this falls into definition of what a party is. A girlfriend, wife or anyone is allowed to transfer resources to someone to help their account progress if they don’t care much about their own account progression or prefer to have resources centralized in one of the accounts.

  1. “This is enough grounds for us to ban you because you are transferring items between differenct accounts”

Goes back into sentence 3. which is allowed as per ticket.

  1. “because you know that we will ban you if you transfer silver via listing items for ridiculous prices on the market.”

This is the first valid ban reason that doesn’t fall into any previously stances/explicitly allowed behavior, as per latest update:

Given that Nulight’s case is Strike 1, the appropriate sanctions are:
A) GM Warning and resource permanent removal.

1) Market Surveillance
Accounts eligible for Strike 1 measures will not only receive a GM warning, but will also have the items and/or Silver involved in the transaction permanently seized.

or

B) 15 days ban, if the situation is deemed similar to bots transferring silver between accounts.

2) GM Monitoring
Accounts found to be using bots or practicing similar violations of our Terms of Service will now receive stronger restrictions when processed by a GM. On Strike 1 , the account will be temporarily banned for 15 days . On Strike 2 , the account will be permanently banned .

Valid reason #1: But the sanction applied was a permanent ban which doesn’t fall into any of the ban reasons up to now.

  1. “You could still make the argument that you were transferring those items in order to enjoy the game together with your “wife”.”

I’ll just skip this, it’s a obnoxious discussion here since that’s the actual case.

  1. “but coming from a guy who created 50+ accounts to exploit vent to gain massive blessed gems?”

Goes back into sentence 2 which is ambiguous and falls into deeper discussions and a ticket answer that explicitly allowed the use case.

Terms of Service (https://treeofsavior.com/page/common/?t=ts) has no mention regarding multiple accounts and also not in any other page containing rules about the game.

With a previously allowed stance and no other place that ever cites with or without details this case it’s hard to believe a permanent ban would be appropriate.

  1. “You expect us to believe you?”

That’s my exact feeling after learning the GM (also player) is putting personal feelings over professionalism in the game and applying unfair sanctions to certain players.

I started playing another game in the meantime, was victim of cheaters match-fixing and lost my rankings in a competition for founder packs.

One of the GMs there told me to not buy the founder pack as I’d be still rewarded and the cheaters would be handled. Nothing happened.

It took 2 months of complaining and bringing up the GM who told me to not buy the pack to read to justifications as “I apologize for the inconvenience, it was a confusion” or “The GM said about the lower priced pack” even though there was no mention of it at all in the conversation. Also, never a mention of possible fix of the rankings as promised earlier too.

After those 2 months I finally received my reward as deserved after going public with the GM lies and avoidance of the topic and them refusing to answer more and even temporarily banning me from the ticket online chat system for complaining about something where I was in the right.

By the way, that’s one of the reasons the game is almost dead now since the abusers case was widespread and a lot of people gave up on trying the game after learning about what happened back then and the consequences.

You could read in a lot of places about the unfairness of judgement from the company such as a certain case where the GM told someone to delete their character before giving an emote to another character and then backing out after the character from the player was permanently deleted and never giving them the emotes again (btw, part of the paid founder pack items).

GMs that doesn’t think of the consequences of their actions and words are the worst and are infinitely worse than cheaters when the corruption parts from their side, as there’s no one to ask for help when that happens and you’re the actual victim and have no one to resort to.

They’re not coming back to this thread, lol. They said what they said.

Feels like the case I was in the new game I’m playing.

-> GM does some bad stuff.
-> Ignores you forever.

I’d strongly recommend for the affected player to not give up. In this new game it took me 2 months to receive a reward the GM (in the wrong) was refusing to sent to me.

Seems like a pattern that GMs of these korean MMOs will always back out when they do something wrong. The only way to get past through it is by being public and insisting about it.

Other people’s bad behavior (regardless off severity) doesn’t justify another person’s bad behavior.

You undercut the rest of your argument with things like this especially when they are the start of what might be an otherwise well thought out post.

If the GM in question does play the game and does have personal issues with the guild as you suggest, why are these two players the only one targeted? Why not the guild leader? Why not ten more of the guild’s players? Why wasn’t it done sooner?

How thick is the tinfoil hat?

EDIT:Spelling

Read the OP post again, there are actually more players from that guild banned, even unrelated ones.

Here:

Read my post again. Why not Louka? Why not Bhikku? Why not Ayne, Hakushi, Liel, Amagi, RandyBK? What makes them special? We also don’t have all the responses or details to Matsuda’s ban so we can’t really speculate on the reasoning, can we? It could be the same event exploit or something entirely different.

Read mine again.

Maybe the GM doesn’t have personal issues with these or couldn’t find any excuses that could seem like something more?

Same goes for this, there’s at least 3, I know 1 more that goes to 4.

I don’t really have too much info on the guild but that’s a good number already I’d say. Plus there’s probably people who didn’t go around telling “I’m banned”.

Maybe something fishy is going on… like… GM targeting multiple people trying to fish for any excuse (i.e. the market thing) that can pass or even something actually allowed before (trading between alts) and give a permanent ban instead of a proper sanction (if any should’ve been applied at all - or in that case, being a Strike 1 offense for market items at most). xd

Just maybe, right?! No GM ever in the history never has manipulated rules or excuses with bad intentions, never! Anywhere!

Okay, what about the other servers, am I right? Once someone in Tels got a golden pig from that box there were multiple people on the reddit discord making multiple accounts. To just target certain people and exclude the entire population is pretty pathetic. And this obviously doesn’t warrant a permanent ban, if this was even an offense. And the entire requirements for this event seemed so baity to say the least. I was wondering why all of a sudden they made that particular event available to level 1 instead of, you know, level 50 or team level 10 like past events?
