hey, if you really want to play hunter+rogue, i suggest you go to the 2nd option you suggested though you need to redo some skill planning you did there.
qs1 albeit not that good, makes you effective against fellow archers if you wear shield, has stone shot for stun if your pet fails to lock on your targets with rush dog/coursing/retrieve
you can go w/ 1 rank in hunter which is good enough for holding your enemies if you max coursing or get c2 for retrieve and an uber long coursing
scout for obvious reasons i might say.
now for rogue, i still suggest you keep wearing shield, then place on swap your xbow+dagger so it auto switches for backstab. you will have to use your hunter skills or your qs skills to get backstab.
for stats, i dont really suggest going the str route for rogues (i know most rogues go str). youd be hit easily and since people are too geared nowadays, its either you have high hp or high evasion for those melee.
i warn you, this route, its very hard. you’d be lacking on lots of places just so you can land a good backstab. its rewarding when it hits though, trust me on that, but is freakishly hard.
i can also suggest you to replace 1 rank of hunter w/ ranger so you can have some feint+barrage burst in your arsenal other than relying on backstab damage. You can also try stopping at rogue c2.
again, this route is very hard
