Anyway to stop him beside walk out far away.
Currently theres no way to cancel Growling (and maybe other similar skills), as far I can tell, other than the method you already mentioned.
Until IMC decides to implement a better AI for pets, that includes postures/commands (Attack, Defence, Stop and Wait), Hunters will have to keep improvising. 
just a complain. there is some monsters that are floating but they away resist my Snatching so i checked tos base it appear that they are walking mobs
