I will thumbs up this because you actually though about using the card system!
Itās such an awesome system that can cover several weak spots from most builds, not just make them stronger.
Like the straightforward: I do burst then i need to get Mole. If you are running a farmer archer, which objective is to get income then you desire to reduce the mainteance costs for it, which cheap cards that can be nurtured slowly cover quite nicely.

played FFXI literally for 12 straight years, atleast with them you know you have game security, not a huge fan of 14, the original or the relaunch but I need to mix it up, cant keep logging into ToS every day just to solo my dungeons and hit my Saalus runs, whats the point tbh if thatās all there is left to do outside of an ET static

thanks, ya sadly cards are extremely expensive atm to lv, roughly 5mil to make a 10star card but eventually they pay for themselves when you can eliminate the need for sp pots the majority of the time
a ways back you could just level an alt to tenet church and get about 10-11 cards from quests, bank them on another alt, delete that alt and start all over, I really miss those days

Iām also following the iDreamy build, still new you could say, any advices you could give? Iāve went full str, got 20dex rest str lv182 atm struggling farming silver/leveling atm my split arrow is at 40 currently
why struggling? at lv 182-200 i was grinding+farming black colifly at roxona east.

the terrible advice just never stops on the forums sadly, @myself is right though, roxona is comprised mostly of coliflys and vigglys, they will take double damage assuming you have an 2h bow and their drops are still regularly purchased to craft roxona armor and some other items such as catacombs pike, thus you will make a little bank while you level
(not playing ToS atm so replies will be scattered, just glance at the forums once a day pretty much for lols)
Basically this guy is telling people to get to lv5 split arrow with his 100 million gears. Sure, with godly weapon and 20mils of card investment, you can go for lv5 split arrow. (Because he 1~2 shots mobs to begin with)
He is assuming everyone has his 100 million gears / traits so thatās why we all need to get to lv5 split arrow asap starting from level 176 with crappy gears and no card.
Not to mention he must be a head-start player who has access to easy cards back then. (15 cards in an hr by creating new character and then delete it), so obviously he didnāt spend that much on cards.
He also got to use the exploit to get his practonion in first few days, which the bug was already fixed, so newer people could be stuck without 315 weapon for months because of RNG.
Anyway, Iāll stick to my opinion because I donāt have his godly gears, and for the rest of the community, just think again about whether you have his gears or not before you make the decision.
Oh, basically heās also telling everyone who donāt have his 100+ million gears stupid. (And Iām not making up numbers, Card = 20mils, Practonion = 25~30 mils, Bless shards x 300+, traits, armors, gems, head gears etc etc)
Abit of added note: At r8 contents, mobs have so much hp that basically without a godly weapon, your main means of clearing mobs is Circling + Mergen skills, and split arrow is just an added bonus to chip the remaining health. So if you want to spend lots and lots of sp for that extra chip damage from split arrow at r8 contents, go for it. Not to mention Mergenās skills itsefl is already very costly in terms of SP usage. This is from the opinion of an average gears player, which should be the majority.
