How Class/Rank Resets Could Be a Good Thing

I disagree to this suggestion, strongly.

We all been through this situation where we rolled a wrong circle or already in a particular path until somebody pops up along with a better route of say, a particular class. And you will be wishing in your heart, dang! I want to reset to play that route, but I can’t because I am already lvl200 in this toon.

You’re not the first nor will you be the last to voice this suggestion. Let me just say, if this is implemented, it will dilute the entire experience you will have. It will bring forth this concept that it does not matter what path I choose, I will end up in a cookie cutter build that everyone will determine as “the best”.

What is perfect about the game is that it also allows for imperfection. I have seen, despite players I partied with being a dragonball build(1 circle in all paths), it works for them! And it’s amazing how different circles can work in synergy and tandem.

I understand how some people want to carry a perfectionist mindset in game, thus you would reset and reset to “test builds” and reset again if you didn’t like it. Be brave, dare to make a choice, and live with that choice to advance. There’s numerous guides in the web to guide enthusiasts, but there’s no guarantee that what works for others, works for you.

My main character is Krivis - Monk with STR-INT and only use Cleric C1 (call it weird build all you want, but combining str and int somehow become powerful). I’m not complaining about my weakness but 1000 people are shouting about where is Heal tile when they consume all of it while their HP is still 80% max…

Again my advice is actually disagreeing with class reset, but somehow something need to be done to cover “You are not healer without C2 Cleric/Priest” and “You are not Swordman if you’re not Peltasta”. Pardoner makes Cleric class can abandon Priest from every build to begin with…

just tell them straight up at the start: "I am not a healer build. Don’t rely on me for HP."
i have a melee chaplain, cler1 > prst3 > chap… it’s worked for me so far.
(mind you, i’m a high-int build, so my heals are pretty strong anyway, even for only 5 tiles.)

“i am not a healer. i’m not saying i won’t let you have heal tiles, or that i will ignore you if i notice you’re low on hp… but i -am- warning you that i was not built to be a healer, and i do not play as a healer, so i won’t be paying a lot of attention to your HP bars, and i might not notice if you are low.”

as a for a str/int monk… it seems pretty obvious. Str boosts your physical skills, Int boosts your magical skills, and both stats get the 10%-per-rank bonus.

LMAO good luck getting anything other than that out of that guy. That’s literally his MO. He picks apart your posts sentence by sentence with dumb, niggling, out of context criticisms.

Can people just stop replying and let this topic die?

Seriously who would agree with this idea?

Games that implement this idea have their replay value absolutely destroyed, and thus the game dies a LOT quicker.

It is NEVER a good idea, especially when the ENTIRE GAME IS ABOUT GRINDING.

Pretty much every single MMO in existence that allows build changing in a sort is out-performing TOS probably in critical reception and most definitely financially.

Your anecdotes are weak.

If you’re so ready to quit this game why don’t you just do it now Zipzo?

Why wait until they make it so you don’t even have to roll alts anymore, just change your class at will?

Makes no sense that you keep playing a game you don’t want to play.

This is a korean grind mmo meaning that there is no end game to rush for like in wow. The leveling is an big part of the game and not something you should rush to see the glorious end game… You can pvp even if not capped. Mostly the people who rush to max lvl in these type of games judt get bored cause once again there isnt an end game they were waiting for.

I agree that reaching max but the game is more about the journey. Then there is still stuff you can do at max lvl. But just thinking about the end game like that might end up in high hopes being brought down.

Well why dont you take a look at those games instead of trying to turn this game into your liking?
Not every game is for everyone and while I agree something has to be done here, a rushed circle reset would most likely just ruin the game. I see circle resets being handled somehow when they release new ranks and such.
I dont understand how long you are going to be conplaining here before you get tired. Those of us happy with the game are playing it.

I find it extremely ridiculous that some people here have been complaining for about two-three months now about class change, while they could have just leveled new character even higher than their previous in the same time  Seeing how they are still here means that they either struggled with their bad made character up to this point or didn’t played at all and just wait for something that will never come

What make you thinkbthey didnt?i have one that need the reset out of 5

People that want the reset playing it as well.you can have and will have more that one character here.but what will you do in lets say 2 more circles and 200lvls if your build no longer good or working.restart and play 480blvls from the start over new contetnt?

Also if imc gave them resets who could ensure they wouldnt get bored regardless?

That would brkng problems and I might make a new char, start maining an alt or quit. Yourclass getting nerffed is the problem in EVERY single mmo so why would this make an exception? Yes in wow you can have specs and alternate between them but not every game had those yet people still roll classes and lvl them to max lvl.
Just because we have a cool class system and not a classic class a=a always people are making things more difficult tham they are. If we couldnt actually build our own class with our choices people probably would be happier. But then this game would be just like every other mmo out there.

So now that balance (nerfs and buffs) is natural and shouldnt make you scared of choosing a class the only thikg that might really screw you over is bad class choices that can be undone with research

Also game being new all classes will most likely get their deserved nerfa and buffs. Its not like any game with a lot of diversity reached ultimate balance 2 weeks after release.

Resets are just hard to handle in a game like this. If they are too easy to use and have no drawbacks them builds become meaningless as everyone would just reset into best endgame build from the best lvling build.

If they have drawbacks a lot of people would complain how stupid the drawbacks are and they should be removed.

Your idea is not bad, but just look at all the game that have character stats/skills reset and how it keep getting worse when people found out a new build and everyone just jump to that build. There would end up with no more diversity in a game anymore, everyone could be a tank/DPS/support at the same time.

And new players would be like meh, I can mess up my build without having a second though about it, I could just use a potion to get the best build I want later on at highest level.

It is just kind a bad thing to have reset mechanic in a game, just keep the game in the way it is.

Lol you mean those tokens that I bought 10 off the market without spending money?

Considering the market limitations (as well as trade) that are still in place for token users, you dont gain much by having a token. ‘exponentially higher’ is just a hyperbole used by you. When you reach the point where you would make far more silver from the market then grinding or questing, you’ve long since obtained enough silver to purchase a token.

What you call ‘hundreds if not thousands of hours’ in all reality comes down to less then 30 hours fo an attribute. And there are literally only a handful of attributes that even have learning time to begin with.

I disagree with your statement whole heartedly.

Endgame and trading make tokens an absolute must.

It’s a good thing they’re so cheap on the market, you can get it within a day or two if you go hard (get to level 100 and grind) as a new player.

I would not play this game without a token, endgame and trading are huge parts of the game that you shouldn’t play without.

I view this game as a sub based game, F2P is just a trial, due to these.

Only ever go F2P if you have absolutely no life so it doesn’t matter anyway and you can sell one item at a time and level slowly at endgame. But if you were no life you’d make enough silver to get a token within a day, sooooo…

You are welcome to disagree.
But what I wrote was: you do not need a token before you are able to afford one. Nor will a token solve your issues, the market and trade limitions are still there, there’s just less of them.

Both of which are still EXTREMELY limited even with a token active. [quote=“kirkrocks1, post:78, topic:277056”]

You only have to make enough silver in a month, not a day; so that argument has no ground to stand on.

Can I ask what level you are? I made it to 272.

I’ve never EVER had to post more than 10 things on the market at a time.

The game doesn’t allow me to flip items, so you have to sell stuff that drops for you. As for you basically saying exp boost is limited… well… that’s illogical LOL. You should have said “market is limited”.
