Hakkapalle Theorycrafting - on giving up Manamana

There doesn’t seem to be as much hype for Hakkapalle as there are other classes, I’m personally stoked for it as the mechanics seem cool and the idea of basically getting to use 2-main hand weapons is kind of cool.

With that said, I was looking through swords that might rival manamana as an offhand, and it wasn’t really easy to find one. Manamana has amazing stats all around, none which I can see being replaced with any of the current onehanded swords.

Then, I figured, maybe this is a case of musket and cannon skills, you’re not supposed to run around with a crossbow and 1h sword but keep using your manamana and have the sword in autoswap to use hakkapalle skills. This sounds fine until you consider that probably most of us have already chosen Cannon or Musket at Rank 7.

Just curious to hear other people’s thoughts on Hakkapalle and the interaction between the 1H sword vs. Manamana (the only one I can really think where the sword would be superior is cata blade vs. plate targets)

This isn’t really a problem because anyone who chose cannon/musket at rank 7 is most likely going to go C2 at rank 8. It would be huge waste to go hakkapelle

1h sword that come to my mind are
trinity have nice option but base dmg is a bit low at late game
sharkcutter seem interesting of those come from QS3 rogue2 ,but not sure if bleed from AA only work with sword or work with xbow too.

well you can definetely plan if they are not adding new gear with the upcoming increase in max lvl

Seems like it’ll only fit quarrel shooters, because that arrows sticking mechanic seems to only apply to auto attacks i think. What an annoying and eye straining mechanic. lol Can you even see those things when all magic skills and dmg numbers fills the screen?

if you wanna give up on manamana the only option i see that is worth is this one :
Bendras Sword

not only it have a very good balance in status: 24 con and 24 str and 24 spr.
but allow you to equip 4 gems, i will say again 4 GEMS.
so you would have a total of 6 gems.
if you mix this with a build who focus on str, for example, you will be able to maintain a really low amount of dex so you will be able to recover the damage lost by using the points you would put on dex in str now.

hell, let’s also not forget that with 330 cap, it will come a new 270 set, so it will also open new possibilities for you.

yeah its more gem slot and Onehard sword type alway +AOE ratio
That mean AOE+ratio limit will increase from +7aoe (2gla+2 3head+3 vub+2) up to +10aoe (some sword + 3 aoe rate)

Eh, arguably, I guess. I’m a QS3/Wu2/Musket. Honestly, while farming/grinding it’s not that efficient for me to use my musket skills most of the time. In boss fights, I can just sneak in a snipe and rarely cover firing in my rotation between my poisons and running shot. Snipe is the only skills that feels worth it in that situation just because of the huge damage, so it’s worth it to drop it every time it’s up, but even then, whenever running shot is up it’s not always clear whether it’s worth it to stop autoattacking.

And musket2 seems really underwhelming. At least for PvE. I’m sure it’ll continue to be great for PvP, even more damage on snipe and being able to hit two targets, but as far as PvE goes, I’m not sure it is the right way to go for everyone.

Now having seen the R8 classes, it would probably make more sense to go QS3/Wu3 and then Hakka and skip musket all together, but I don’t see myself rerolling at this point.

yea I’m hoping for some new items to come through, and while that sword looks great I didn’t think it was actually in game?

VS PLATES

  • Block Penetration stat up198
  • Attack on Plate Armor Targets stat up461
  • Deals additional damage equal to 50% of an enemy’s block value when using a basic attack

For Additional Crit Rate?

  • AoE Attack Ratio stat up2
  • Critical Rate stat up50

I am personally very stoked for Hakkapelle, even going as far as saying I might main it if it turns out even decent.

With R8, there probably also comes a new set of gears which will probably outrival Manamana. Assuming status quo, a Magas Sword would probably be my pick for Hakkapelle. Tbh, while I am aware that Manamana is strong, I am also very ready to give it up if need be in favor of a 1H sword so I am not too bothered by it.

Though a little off topic, I think a better question would be, what are the possible builds leading up to Hakkapelle? Because of it’s inherent mechanic, I am pretty sure not many current ‘archer meta’ will synchronize with Hakkapelle very well and the fact that the job only comes at rank 8 means it could be a wise idea to do some theorycrafting at this point to get a ‘headstart’.

i believe it is, all the mats is in the game, and the recipe i remember seeing one on the market before, this was a long ago so i could be mistake as well but it think it is .
at first i have not know about the sword as well, but someone pointed out in a similar topic like this one, where he was asking if he would sell or use it and since then that sword is on my list of top onehand sword.

for javin:
for hakkapelle build i believe that the basic a2 qs3 falconer would already give a good build, a2qs3 for the basic 1x1 damage combo with running shot and falconer for that extra circling for the melee skills once they come close, the only question is on the tosbase the skill set says that we can not use circling while in a pet, but in reality i do not see why not since is the falcon doing all the ■■■■, someone who have a falconer would need to answer that, but i believe that is one of the best because with circling you would not need to invest in AOE atk ratio equips.
if falconer is not possible, flet2 is a good choice because of MA, after all almost all archers classes have a good synergy with hakka, since you are going for a range fighter who goes melee once the enemy is close and this can be done with almost all builds

As others have said, assuming the mechanic is how it’s described in the preview (you do more damage per arrows sticking out of the targets), QS3 is a given. Nery definitely had a good point with circling (assuming, as he said, that we can use it while mounted). Personally, if I rerolled, or by some gift we were granted the ability to repick R7 leading into R8, I would probably just go QS3->Wu3. I’m not sure what other QS3 builds there are that are viable aside from SR (which would seem like a waste to go SR2 considering how good SR3 looks). But yea, I like QS3/Wu3 for a Hakka build, you have the benefit of running shot and the power of poison, seems like a solid rotation to get off your poisons, load up the arrows, run in for the Hakka melee skill hits, rinse and repeat.

i do not think that sr would be a valid option since you would need gun in the offhand, and hakka needs sword.
and the main point of hakka, is the use of offhand sword to boost arrow atks as well, since swords have a very good status, too.

what’s really gonna happen:

the best sword is gonna be a new 280 or 320 sword one, and whatever lower leve sword is just gonna be trash

Austas is hard as hell to get and only has 1 gem slot anyway.

Flame and Bendras Sword would both be great options if they existed. But they don’t.

Honestly all 1h swords suck, so unless they add some nice new ones having to use a 1h sword will be a downside rather than a plus. The game needs more equipment added in general, you have such a sparse selection no matter what class you are.

Great answer, though I am not entirely sold on going QS3 again as my SR is already one. I am actually heavily considering going Ranger3 this time round. Thanks anyways.

guys do you imagine how to DASH when using MOUSE MODE UI. becase I think most of archers class use MOUSE ui.

Dashing is very bad for Hakkapalle since it uses pet stamina. If you have 0 pet stamina, you won’t get its bonus stats. Pet food is too expensive, especially if you use a pengu.

ill use my velheider. dash/ms is a big deal.
