[Guide] Wugushi: The Venomous Tribe

Hi Harumi!
Increasing jincan gu levels increases the damage. A long time ago the devs put an increasing damage formula however they did not bother to add it to the skill description - so many people wrongly assume increasing jincan lvls = waste SP.

Old old old patch note:

Needle Blow cooldown changed from 25s to 20s.
Needle Blow damage changed from 194.2 + 40.9 per skill level to 254.2 + 56.9 per skill level.
Needle Blow poison damage frequency changed from 0.8s to 0.5s.
Wugong Gu cooldown changed from 30s to 25s.
Wugong Gu damage changed from 252.8 + 73.9 per skill level to 302.8 + 88.9 per skill level.
Wugong Gu poison damage frequency changed from 0.8s to 0.5s.
Throw Gu Pot damage changed from 204.2 + 41.8 per skill level to 414.2 + 91.8 per skill level.
Jincan Gu damage changed from 393.7 + 85.1 per skill level to 593.7 + 145.1 per skill level.

Rogue would be better overall than Wugushi C3. Especially if youā€™re looking at the long-term with Mergen C2 and C3 where Arrow Rain will only be stronger.

You donā€™t lose much from going Wugu C2 over C3 since Jincan Gu isnā€™t that great. The slight damage boost to poisons isnā€™t worth losing the utility and huge AoE burst damage boost youā€™d get from having two Arrow Rains.

considering R8, what is best choice for QS 3 WU 2

Wugushi C3 > R8
or Cannoneer C2

iā€™m thinking get cannonner

Is it worth putting 4/5?

Or I go for it.

It deals over damage over 60 seconds (long duration) - one tick of damage every 3 seconds. I donā€™t know which mob lives for 60 seconds. It is up to you to decide if you think it is worth - it does count as an extra debuff and poison stack (perhaps you party up a lot with Plague Doc?).

I understand your point of view.

I didnā€™t pay attention to it. Long duration is something to think of.

I have noticed Wugong Gu and Needle Blow spreads poison to other monsters around right?

So what combo should I do?

Does that spread only when I use Wugong Gu/Needle Blow and auto-attack that poisoned monster?

Yes, you may use wugong gu and attack the mob to spread the poison. I would use needle+wugong on tanky high hp mobs, especially later on in the game.

Of course always use them on bosses.

Thanks for the reply.

One more thing I would like to know:

Does poison scale well at 280 and further? I know that the dmg from attributes increases with the wugu rank like 11 dmg/attribute at circle 3 i think compared to 7/attribute at circle 2. So if we consider wugu3 would it still scale enough as the lvl cap increases?

The poison damage does start to fall off, it feels extremely powerful at lower levels but around 280 it is indeed lackluster, especially compared to something like Fletcher. Poison will most likely fade into a more support role as more ranks are added. 4k ticks of poison wonā€™t do much against monsters that have 500k HP. Itā€™s flat scaling based on phys. attack, so it doesnā€™t ā€œscaleā€ any different, itā€™s just more noticeable that the low base damage gets relatively lower and lower as higher ranks outclass the damage and you gain more levels and face stronger monsters.

Because poison is more of a utility than a main source of damage later on, taking it to C3 isnā€™t always a good choice when you can have something else since C2 provides you with the damaging abilities and the attributes.

You have helped me a lot. This is exactly what I wanted to know.
In this case I now think that rogue would be a better option for my build with the utility provided by it.

Thatā€™s why Wugushi needs a Linker to help him out in terms of smelting monsters with high HP.

I didnā€™t fight against World Bosses yet so I donā€™t know how it is to fight it while there are other Wugushis.

So, while there are two Wugushis for example, I cast a skill and the other one casts his skills. His skills are going to overwrite mine right? So am I useless?!?! My whole amount of damage dealt doesnā€™t count on then?

If itā€™s like that I might presume this is really unfair.

Yes it will get overwritten. However you may overwrite the other wugu too. The way debuff works at bosses is just extra bad for Wugushi poison debuff, since poison debuff is your damage.

So that means who overwrites more is gonna be the winner?

Yes. Perhaps it helps you if I say not many wugushi go worldboss, at least in my server. I meet a lot of fletchers. Occasionally some QS3-Wugu2/3-Musket1.

Letā€™s say thereā€™s a boss with 2.000.000 HP.

Wugushi 1 dealt = 800.000 damage
Wugushi 2 dealt = 900.000 damage
Fletcher 1 dealt = 300.000 damage

I who dealt 800k is not going to get a cube because there was another Wugushi attacking the boss?

While thereā€™s a Fletcher who dealt only 300k and then he gets a cube because Wugushi vs Wugushi doesnā€™t count on? LOL.

Is that what I am thinking about?

No, it will be:

Wugushi1 uses needle blow = 800 000 damage possible.
Wugushi2 uses needle blow 1 sec after wugushi 1 = 800 000 damage, Wugushi 1 needle blow damage is now = 0.

Wugushi 1 uses wugong gu = 800 000 damage possible.
Wugushi 2 uses wugong gu 1 sec after wugushi 1 -> wugushi 1 = 0dmg.

Because the poison on the boss will count the damage from the latest/newest poison.

Ok, this point I got.

What I have a doubt is if 800 000 damage = 0 against any other class no matter if thereā€™s another Wugushi versus me.

I mean, 800k damage dealt.

Against another Wugushi who overwrote mine = 0
Against another class also = 0???

No, if you can apply your poison successfully (after other wugu), you will win a cube - usually. Wugu poison damage is high for our current level cap, especially vs Ghost armour worldbosses.

If another wugu overwrites your poison, your 800 000 damage = 0, also =0 vs other classes, yes. You cannot get a cube like this.
