Probably because 0 cd Skyliner is just too good to pass. One rank in Barb gives you CC and buff to slash.
Iâm so hoping that with the KTOS dev branch merge iTOS will get 0 cd skyliner aswell for more dps. When that hapens iâm going to make a non-pelt doppel aswell.
I decided to make one now. Itâs nice to take a break from main char sometimes and I hope the merge will bring all the buffs swordies got in kTOS. Doppel is nice nonetheless.
Highlander skills has overall higher DPS output compare to BARB in 90% of the end game situations (world boss/ earth tower)

Is about Deeds of Valor, the skill does increase your ATK SPEED, this is how u do it.
After you used the skill Deeds of Valor, u switch one of your equipments (be it weapon or equipments), you can re-switch it back is up to u, you will get the ATK SPEED buff right after tat.
e.g. switch your weapon (2 diff weapon) or switch your shoes (windrunner and ur standard plate shoe), and quickly switch it back, use hotkeys to do it, you will get the ATK SPEED buff right after tat.

Yes, i m suggesting taking Highlander C3 because Barbarian C3 falls off a little later on, Highlander has Cartar Stroke and Bleeding effect whichs scales great in the later game, one being status effect which works on bosses and another Strike attribute attack that the longest and widest attack range (longer than Seism)
I see, thanks for your information, but in the end Highlander is still giving more extra damage to end game Doppel, where crit starts to matters due to Magi Two Handed and Dual Sissel Bracelet + Max Peta

I saw your vid and what I can say: Its explains how swordie is lackluster.
About your build, well, if you lure 4 mobs youâre dead (with dov 10, 2 mobs can do the job easy).
You think your damage is good when in real arenât. Rotating too many skills to kill a mob isnât attractive when you run out of them, you will be useless for some time. If you rotate your best skills first and staying rotating barb skill, you will still be useless.
You are not suited for ET because you havenât pelt for UTILITY and because your damage is ok to low and can be easly replaced. Stack dov 10 times takes too much time and you will not get hit in ET unless youâre crazy.
In Tos what I can say is: Utility>Damage

So all-in-all, which build is best for 2Handed-maniac Swordies who wanna dps off-tank?
The damage in the video wasnt shown with weapon +10 or weapon lv 15 buff, is a showcast of dmg without any town buffs or team buffs on and with all form of weapon +5 (magi and superior twin), i m currently with +9 magi and eqp all +5 (full grynas, sissel x2, max peta, 3x headgear that buffs dmg), swordsmen needs to work harder than any other classes x3 the effort already just to enjoy end game content or to be on par with other aoe dps, be in getting the levels or farming the silvers for attributes and equipments, especially the hyper offensive doppel path.
Another thing is basically u just thrashed the entire swordsmen class and being the same as others with those words, calling swords to go back being petalsta, great contribution to this topic, mind u stop coming to this thread if u hav nth to contribute other then calling a hardworking player useless? people like u needs to stop ruining the game by calling other classes useless, especially when the problem lies in iTOS which nerfed swords skill cyclone, not giving slash dmg buff to cleave and so on, u dont even play the class to 280 and tries to get all the equipment to +10 and attribute to 70 and tried to ET with it, do u even know how hard that is? basically require x3 the efforts just to get it compare to other classes, swords has been looked down upon especially those without petalsta through out the entire game already regardless of world boss or pvp or grinding party levelling, rlly sick of people like u, ur gonna storm in here and call them useless again? please just go back to your warlock or whatever classes thread if you have nth better to contribute to high dps 2 hander sword thread and just calling ppl useless, thx.

Anyway, taking peltasta over highlander(in case youâre sw>high>barb3>>whatever) will decrease your dps is less than 2%.
There is no problem in use taunt and do dps.
And again utility>damage in both scenarios solo and party.
If you are happy with your ok damage is not of my business. I have a dragoon 280 and I know what is a good damage. People never hited 200+ will see your vid and say Wow, who hited 280 will see your vid and say ok

Decreased DPS isnât less than 2%, please, Cartar Stroke(highlander c1) with attribute 50 contributes a huge DPS boost for Stike base AOE dmg (and it is the widest and biggest AOE Doppel can get, Seism cant even compete with its range) alongside with 2 Handed Sword Crit Attack +50%, do you even play the game before you state is less than 2%? That is so misinformed. I guess you satisfied with your DPS so easily thus you think petalsta isnât going to affect the overall damage, while I will tell you now that having Highlander is like getting a +15 weapon bonus damage in ET, because Critical Attack +50%, for every crits that happened literally stacks up to 500,000 to 800,000 more damage in that 4 minute, and that is huge and it will be the different between u finished it under the time or not.
And please, the previous video purpose isnât to show how awesome the damage is when there were no buy buffs or weapon enhancement, its a showcast of each and every skills under request, if you wanna compete why donât you compete with a fully buffed cleaved up Cyclone instead?
Stop spreading Petalsta bullshit and not choose DPS over anything, Doppelsoldner isnât a CC or ULTILITY, play Cryo Chrono Linker if u want that, if u go for Doppel, go Full DPS with enough HP so you donât die easily while deeds stacked 10, I mean it, Doppelsoldners hit very HARD.
before I end my post here is another well-built DPS doppel in KTOS, his path has high c2 and barb c2 instead, look at his DPS (that cartar stroke lvl 1 charge dmg, petalsta cant do that!), basically thats the DPS after buffed up+++ from everything (and thats what i m doing)
Good luck building Doppel guys, playing swordsmen needs 3x the effort than other classes, donât let some people like Kascly opinion ruining the DPS build Doppel, Peltasta was picked by many because of how people mocked Swordsmen classes in the past with parties like âLFP Sword, Peltas onlyâ, pressuring every single Sword taking it (please you know it urself if you are a sword, stop becoming like one of them, if you truly wanna go Peltas please C3, it is a huge different compare to C1 where people took it just to fit in and sacrificing 1 rank for it), and taking Highlander paths really boost up the total DPS Doppel can dish out, need example? Additional rotation skill, Cartar Stroke, fast cooldown, overheat, the longest STRIKE attribute 4 hit skill with just 0.5 second charge lvl 1, +50% total Critical Attack, this 2 alone will speed up Earth Tower 1st Floor DPS check by alot, especially in a game where Tanker is on a really blur line here in TOS (many parties finished 5F and hit 10F without a real tank, every1 is a tank with 45k HP, look at those full con chrono warlock).

For people reading this thread. That attibute add a flat value at the end of your critical attack(you can see when you press C) and not 50% to your full critical damage done.
Can I ask a question, tho? Which utility peltasta bring in ET, that canât be replaced? From what I know, the only team who made it really far in ET had 0 swordsman, peltasta or not.
I may be wrong, but from what i can see, luring is still only luring. It serves the great purpose of getting monsters inside AoEs, something mages can do as well. So, aside from guardian atribute, why peltasta?
In ET you have time to kill mobs. Swash helps alot in luring and get 25% more survivality. You have acess 2 more striker attacks 1 with CC and guardian 18% more evasion.
With highlander you get cartar stroke with long charge(0,5 sec * lvl). 2,5 sec wasted charging to do a crap damage. Crossguard with youâre not full str is useless. Crown you can combo with zucken.
In peltasta you can keep the control the mob wave in case cryo/kino fail in deal with wave. Swordsman without pest mus deal only with you provoke attribute and trust me, if you donât have a high AoE attack ratio, you are a joke. If a monster is running after your party members, you need to do at last 3 hits to recover aggro = time wasted, with taunt you donât need to run after them.
Thats true there is 0 swordsman in high level ET because Utility>Damage and swordsman has only swash to compensate him. In damage there are betters options to go without them. In little words, an archer can do with a +0 weapon what you can do with a +15 weapon because enhancing swords you get low stats.
If we get a canonner as a example, his cannon will do far way more damage with a +0 weak weapon, wizards can do the same with ignition +0.
Donât get me wrong, I love swordsman(I have 5 in my acc), but we must face the truth and try to do our best.
Wow, I guess you are the one who doesnât know how much that 50% FLAT DAMAGE CRIT ATTACK ADDS together when using CYCLONE with KRIVIS -20% CD and CHRONO PASS skill alongside Sissel x2, Max Peta and +10 Magi-two handed Crit Rate , dual 5 star above crit stone and Crit ATK increase and weapon 15 buff and krivis Zalchiel skill.
You donât even have a Doppel, u serious?
