Guide to Fencer / Doppel / Bullet Marker [PVE]

Sometimes I regret not going Highlander, until I hook someone and pull them to me, further immobility with Helm Chopper and Cleave as they die, mwhahahahahahaha!

The PvP experiences I’ve had with other Swordies and Clerics has been great fun. Archers and mages you stink. I’m lucky if I catch you in a Seism, more so with a hook. I use keyboard and touchpad controls so it’s a bit slower for hooks it seems, though I seen a video where they implemented a sliding scaler to speed it up in kToS.

How well does Fencer do in things like PvP and GvG anyway? I know the entire Swordsman line in stunted when it comes to the end game stuff, but whatever. =P

er… correct me if im wrong but have you looked under your controller vibration settings? take a look, please.

I’d say about average? Magic classes are a real challenge, but fun none the less, because every time I have killed one I do a little happy dance. Scouts are the bane of my existence since I have no way of throwing them out of cloaking.[quote=“Lis, post:83, topic:300257”]

Isn’t magic the bane of everyone’s existence because of just how much damage it does and because there isn’t very many ways of preventing said damage? =P

It gets particularly retarded versus a class you can kite all day, us. and that sleep. DAT SLEEP JEBUS CHRIST.

@Lis Oh my God, yay. I had no idea it had even been put in already. @_@ Hides face in shame.

And yes… Both mages and Scouts can eat me. XD

Alrighty, so they do relatively well… nice to know. I’m trying to figure out what to go for at rank 7 for GvG; have a thread about it, but no discussion is going on in it.

For the record 30 seems to be the perfect speed, anything beyond that just skips too many cells. @_@ Sits here fiddling with speed controls.

What build are you considering Double? (Edit: Ah nevermind I see it.)

It is excruciatingly hard to pvp with most sword classes without corsair, unfortunately. And even then it is still hard, but rewarding if you can pull a win under all the disadvantages. (piece of advice versus archers: cross guard if youre doing said STR build, but shhhhhh)

Currently I’m Swordsman 2 > Barbarian 2 > Corsair 1 going Corsair 2. Fencer has good synergy with the build, but I’m really considering my options.

You have left me laughing now cuz I have been doing the exact same with that slider for the past few days, only to leave it at 25 because of that very same reason x). but then again it is with a cheap PC thrustmaster controller and a 7 years old laptop so results maaay very well vary cough 7 fps sometimes cough

You might want to try and build a Sw1 > Highlander 3 > Corsair 2 > Fencer 1 in parallel to your main. I believe its a pretty fine way to be somewhat viable in pvp with a fencer. and its not wasted time since youd be able to run twice as many dungeons and missions per day.

(Or dont, if you are allergic to weapon swaping like me.)

I’m very lucky I live in Virginia where the Klap server is. Even with my new gaming laptop and good internet though, I still lag. Someone suggested some where they move the server to the west coast and I wanted to scream “Nooooooo!” I mostly play auto attack classes so that’s a nightmare for me. x’D

DWA and Running Shot are (will be) my bread and butter.

I tend to weapon swap all the time so I can maximize my damage output. Also, it’s taken me this long to get to 135 (this is barely playing my other characters as well) making another character at the same time just isn’t going to happen… =P

Hi everyone, High DEX / Pelt 1 -> High C3 -> Fencer 1(on my way to Fencer 2) here, currently lvl 210 trying to drop a Venier recipe, how many Yellow Candles did it take you to drop one? I’m at 555 right now and 0 recipes.

Also i’ve decided to only play with my Fencer 'till i hit rank 7 then i’ll probably make a Cleric/Wizzie and invest my time/money there.

Edit: Nice guide btw, i agree with your first Q&A part, Fencer isn’t a meta build and can’t really deal good DPS late game, sad but true. Flaconnade is also too unreliable(imo) to replace the C guard from shield which is a big turn down for DPS Fencers.

I really hope they give Sept Etoille atleast an Overheat charge, 30 seconds cooldown for 15k damage(when the target is affected by Coquille/Skull Swing) is bullshit.

Also, i believe Toucher would be a better skill if instead of giving you an Evasion buff it made you invulnerable during the animation… 30* seconds cooldown for little damage and a 1s evasion buff is ridiculous.

I farmed four, three to sell but I’m also a Corsair. It was about every 500 kills for three of them. So probably some where between 500-1000.

how many Yellow Candles did it take you to drop one?

honestly try and get the 12 lizard ambers first and only then the recipe. chances are you might leave the recipe unused and get bored of farming those ambers. but answering that is quite hard, nobody knows the % drop

Annnd Esquive is actually 30s cd x).

Took me a lil more than 14 hours gameplay total to get both the venier recipe and the lizard ambers. Ide say venier farming went quite well. But now im @ frikkin 7 hours total and still no sage wall recipe. Dosent matter ill keep going until my eyes bleed. Then cry whats left of blood insides me coze i got zero zircons !

Alright! I hit rank 5, Corsair time! One more rank to Fencer!

Dust Devil seems to do pitiful damage, I won’t miss a point or 5 if I dump them into DWA. However, it doesn’t have an AoE ration, I assume it hits all mobs in range but the hit area is quite small?

For swordsman skills that doesn’t specify AOE attack ratio, it uses your character’s AOE attack ratio. For example you have 6 AOE attack ratio, the skill will also have 6 AOE attack ratio. Regarding Dust Devil, the first 2 hits’ AOE is a circle around you while the 3rd hit is in front.

Edit: For monsters immune to bleeding, I actually prefer using Dust Devil in combination with Lunge.
