Guide to Fencer / Doppel / Bullet Marker [PVE]

Yes but Cleave, Helm Chopper and Seism specifically state what their AoE attack ratio. I always assumed that how many target it can hit at a time. Dust Devil doesn’t have anything like that on the tooltip.

Also, I can finally taunt while using my primary weapons, didn’t know you could use swash buckling while having a dagger equipped. I mean it does say that on the tooltip.

Also, why does my offhand attack does more damage than my main attack, even though the sword in my right hand has higher base damage than the dagger? Is it just slash vs pierce on certain mobs?

Is it just slash vs pierce on certain mobs?

yep

Ah ye, sometimes it does show up with 50% Slash or 50% pierce message but not always.

Slash
Deals 50% additional damage against cloth armor.
Suffers a 25% damage penalty against plate armor.
Suffers a 25% damage penalty against ghost armor, like all physical damage types.
Note: Swords and 2H swords deal slash damage, as well as numerous Swordsman classes skills.

Stab (Pierce)
Deals 50% additional damage against leather armor.
Suffers a 25% damage penalty against cloth armor.
Suffers a 25% damage penalty against ghost armor, like all physical damage types.
Note: Spears, 2h spears, daggers and rapiers all deal stab damage, as well as numerous Archer classes skills and some Swordsman classes skills.

Hit (Blunt, Strike)
Deals 50% additional damage against plate armor.
Suffers a 25% damage penalty against leather armor.
Suffers a 25% damage penalty against ghost armor, like all physical damage types.
Note: Maces and wands deal hit damage, as well as several of Cleric classes skills, such as Monk’s and Paladin’s.

Magic
Deals 50% additional damage against ghost armor.
Note: As you can see, magic damage doesn’t suffer any penalty. This is because most magic damage dealing spells are associated with an element. Elements possess their own bonus/penalty chart.
Note: Wizard classes auto-attacks, regardless of the weapon equipped, as well as most of their skills, deal magic damage. Numerous Cleric classes skills deal magic damage as well, this includes Sadhu’s Out-of-Body melee attacks.

Missile
Suffers a 25% damage penalty against M size enemies.
Suffers a 50% damage penalty against L size enemies.
Suffers a 50% damage penalty against XL size enemies.
Note: Bows, crossbows, pistols(?), muskets(?)

Go ahead so long as you realize that
1 - Do you like playing optimal meta builds?Yes - get outNo - continue

It’s because we insist on playing swordsman dps classes, we find the enjoyment on it. I think everyone who still goes dps swordsman route at this point already realizes that competition against fletchers or any other real dps classes isn’t going anywhere.

So if it’s something to further improve what the said builds can do, there isn’t a problem about it.

And if it’s a HL3 variant instead of a barb, I’d welcome it, but didn’t include it because I’ve never played it or experienced it.

I lost my cool when someone literally ignored the first few lines of the thread, Not only the first few lines on the first post, even my first reply to him. I rarely bash someone or go full hostile over it unless someone is really asking for it.

@AnitaCafe @the7crowmisfits

Definitely using this to hurt you guys for derailing! But if you look at it closely…when held the other way around, it actually looks like a rapier without a hilt

Doesn’t seem like it, I’ve also seen Rexipher and that thing in Kalejimas. I wasn’t even trying to kill to boss there, I was doing the SP potion gimmick and came by seeing this thing getting raped to death, so I joined the party.

@igor_lavor
Yes, this is why I suggested leftover points only to esquive, I have 3 unused points waiting for a fencer change too, or at least some useful skill in the next fencer rank to spend on.

Sept really is inferior, also a reason why I went deep and tell people to not spend on attributes if they feel that they do not want to continue on fencers anymore, it gets better with attributes, but not as much as other skills, Like Hexen on Cor variants or Lunge/Composee might actually be better, preparation is the only thing that boosts sept etoiles by a lot so far.

and about the venier recipe drop, I got mine off jolly roger, lol

You need a total of 1100-1300 (I’d love to get an exact number, but I don’t know what mob has the highest accuracy in the game) to reach the 80-85% evasion cap on everything once you’re level 280.
Thanks for the information, this is exactly what I was looking for. Really nice to know the DPS difference is only ~10% from STR-focused as well.

Question, though: how easy is it to actually get that much EVA? Considering DEX only adds 1 per point, even with Guardian and such, that seems pretty damn high…

With Lunge at level 10-12, it’s much easier than you think, without it though is a different story. (considering you get 4 sec evasion out of a 14-15 sec cd, it isn’t bad)

With Guardian I have 872 evasion, 739 without (not counting Lunge). It got a bit lower since I started replacing some of my evasive gear for more damage/ratio. Like replacing my crystal bangle for a gladiator band. god that was a big upgrade

Lunge has a terrible uptime. Having to rely on lunge to reach the evasion cap is a bad idea.

@Naivety

It’s pretty hard but yeah it isn’t as bad as you think. You only get 1 point of evasion from dex per point but you also get the dex bonus points which add up. Every time you level up, you also get an evasion point. Also, the main stat of boots is evasion, which means anvil upgrading them can result in some nice evasion too. I also gem my boots for evasion to get a decent boost. There’s also leather armor mastery (I use 4 set leather) and rokas leather. All of these combined gives me 1079 evasion with guardian on at level 266. 1100 is well within reason. 1300? Pretty hard.

You snuck in gems on roxona right? I was waiting for either virtov or ibre before doing that

Hitting that 1100 without Guardian is impossible, eh?

There’s other buffs such as swift step party buff and what not, but there’s nothing wrong with using guardian. Gung ho is pretty bad. The only issue is if you didn’t go peltasta

That’s exactly it. I passed up going Peltasta; didn’t want to go a class I didn’t want to just because of community pressure. Not regretting it.

Nope. I use superior bandit boots. I don’t see any point in using roxona leather. Virtov would be pretty nice but I’m not banking on getting any of that set. I don’t really want to put the time in to pursue it for just one piece anyway (from a DPS standpoint the rest of the set isn’t worth getting if we get the new KR item drops)

I could live without swashbuckling (community pressure) but if you’re going for an evasion build with fencer I don’t see any reason not to pick up peltasta

–I probably shouldn’t have double posted. I don’t know if people on these forums care or not though

Oh, you’re right, forgot about each level giving one point of evasion. That makes it much more manageable. Those numbers give me hope as I wasn’t going to go for 1300 anyway, but how much DEX did you get to those numbers with? Near-full DEX?

also, what’s the average crit rate with that DEX? just for reference

300-400 depending on your choice of accessories

yeah we have about the same dex judging from the evasion, the main difference is that I have massively inferior boots with no gems since RNG gods hate me and won’t give me an Ibre Boots I do have a superior bandit though so I’ll probably make do with it

To be fair, I was never going full Dex so it would have been impossible for my character either way. =P

these are my stats at lv 266. I plan to put the rest in dex from 266-280. This should hopefully answer your question about crit rate too because you can scroll down and see the base value and just add to it depending on what your gear provides.

and can I get to those numbers without sacrificing 34567 evasion?
