Guide to Fencer / Doppel / Bullet Marker [PVE]

I dont usually use Guardian all the time honestly.
Gung ho is more for lvling then anything else…

The only reason why I didnt take War Cry is because you cant get its add target attributes until c3…
so a lvl 5 War cry with no add target attributes is… +95 dmg?.. +30 so +120 …
Its not making as much as difference I’ed think?.. But ill take it into consideration.

My only problem with Arrest is that it Roots you too… so… you cant do anything while locking something else down…
So its bad for Solo, and in parties I feel like your wasting your party’s time if your not doing anything yourself…
However one value point for Bosses that move around a lot might not hurt.

She/Her*
And no, I just love the class?.. Its my favorite .-.

No idea yet xD

@xechidna: Please tell me your most preferred build in the 4

@hienng1991
Maybe Squire really… just to fix the durability problem…
My 280 Fencer carries around 2 venier’s because Rapiers are just THAT pone to breaking…

As a Fencer IRL i can assure you that Rapiers and Sabers ar MUCH more durable then that…

But i would REALLY Like to try out Corsair c2 on Fencer…
It just feels like im only going Corsair for Hexon Dropper and thats 2 Circles wasted… for… a good skill but… yeh…

And Im still on the fence about Hoplite…

Sorry, I just assumed your gender. Btw, Fencer is my favorite too.

Rapiers might be durable IRL but obviously not as much as your normal Longsword, Zweihander or Mace. These weapons can break in game so Rapiers will break faster too.

Now excuse me I need to go and watch Man at Arms.

Hoplite Fencer? Now we are on the same boat. But weapon stance

@hienng1991

Plz, no need to apologize xD
theres no girls on the internet! :3

But anyway I think Im going with Squire…

LOL.

Squire for more utility. Might be fitting with Fencer.

Or wait till data merge and go Spear route with me. Zweihander in TOS looks really bad

@hienng1991

Not much Really changed for Hoplite in KR so I doubt the merge will do anything…
Squire seems to be the only Fit… but it causes me to lose some dmg in exchange for utility

Barb 3 Pouncing seems so promising.

On the other hand, Hoplite locks you into Spears. Finestra is the biggest culprit because it’s so good.

I’m going Hop 2> Corsair 2 atm and wait for more stuffs, my Barb 2 and soon to be Fencer is still on hold due to info of data merge. Considering Barb 3> Fencer 2 or Barb 2> Corsair 2> Fencer

I’m thinking of taking one circle of squire for my fencer tank. Does arrest work on bosses? Corsair’s hook would do the same? I heard they do, but I have no hard evidence.

@xechidna
Durability is based on the idea of long use. Try to hit everyday stones, metal, ice, fire and…ghosts. Compare it to other types of weapons. I believe some might resist more hits than the rapier. Though one handed spears are weaker likewise…I think.

Arrest works on Bosses but unlike with hook you cant actually do anything when you lock down a boss with Arrest, Iron Hook only works on mobs. but you can still attack and stuff

You mean IRL?
No rapiers usually have about as much durability as a one handed sword, if not more because the blade is not strained by the weight of it self like a one handed sword is.

@xechidna

Well if you don’t build for evasion then I guess guardian won’t help you much. Also I don’t think warcry is very good as a damage booster even with c3, its main use for me is a secondary psuedo swashbuckling

War Cry is not a taunt xD…
It dose not raise your threat level to enemies it only acts as if you hit the enemy.

For example if an enemy is attacking another player you can use Swasbuckling to have it attack you instead.
War Cry doesn’t do that because your threat level was unchanged

Yeah and what you described is exactly what I use it for

Unless something was changed while i was on hiatus, then thats not the case…
when I tested it, your threat level is unchanged…

But if the enemy is not engaging another player/target you WILL aggro them with War Cry

Threat doesn’t change but it still makes monsters come to you. Easy enough to generate aggro after that just by hitting them

I still dont think its that good at only 5 targets, i mean its not even half the range of swashbuckling

Personal preference I guess. I don’t like having my party members standing around having to wait for my swashbuckling to go off cooldown when that issue comes up

Well, the idea is to make a boss stay in one place while everybody is hitting it, so yeah, squire is good enough. The only question remaining is, although I can’t do anything, can I still block? Or do I have to count on high guard?

Well, you are right to say that, as rapiers are in fact a type of an one handed sword.

But I was trying to compare, mixing the aspects of both reality and the circumstances of the game, with more resistant weapons like maces, broadswords, war hammers, giant axes and such. Although the material forged might be the one to really rule how resistant a weapon is.

It also depnds on the type of rapier…

An Epee is basically a one handed sword on a Rapier’s hilt, which is why most people find them slow…

Where a Foil is more thinner and about 4ft longer, some times the blade is wiggly but that makes it harder to break it as it can bend to reduce the force its being hit with.

And a Saber is basically a Slim sword on a Rapier’s hilt, some times its curved and single edged like a Katana and other times its just a double edged slim sword…

Oh… Im one of those Noob Swordies who Builds high STR and just wears Leather armor…
I know Plate give you the best Bonus’s for a swordie, but Ied rather out right dodge most of the hits then to just take reduced damage from all the hits… >_>
