Guide to Fencer / Doppel / Bullet Marker [PVE]

the skill in question was thrust though. if it was flanconnade or composee, I agree to that. but what I was replying to was about thrust which is a 1 hit skill.
and by the time you get to fencer, you will never use thrust ever again.

I’m done with Highlanders.
Well, if Peltasta once again then I pass Hung Ho propably and put more into pain barrier.
Just theory craft for now. Maybe if we got class reset option i switch into this one.

There is no need to fight about Thrust. Its purely prefence if you like or not.

I also forgot that AA can outdps flanconnade incase you did not take Fencer C2. First venier has high element damage that can apply to all lines of damage, like sacrament and cafrisun. but there is one more reason. it is how coquille works, it increase the damage done by piece by enemy defence. that defence is also added to all lines of damage. so there is that (and I got bummed because DWA of cor2 forced my main weapon attack as slash even though im wearing a rapier, no coquille bonus damage on that)

@BlackCat Then it would be a nice theory for AA damage focused builds. It is a weird build for a caster like Fencer, though it seems you don’t intend to take all 3 circles like me, which is fine.

@Kascly I’m not seeing it as a catfight (sry for the pun), I think things are still healthy.

@Suzushii Well, you can still have both guardian and gung ho at use, it is a nice “bravely<->default mechanic-like”. Hope you played the game to understand what I mean. But yeah, of all options you could take, Peltasta give more tools with only one circle.

  • Peltasta: Lots of Defense and Block increasing attributes while using a shield; a stance (C button) that put you block rate into heavens; Taunt and Evasion boost.
  • Highlander: Cartar Stroke and CC (crown is not that good yet with only 5lvs)
  • Barb: Pretty much a slash and crit rate buff and CC.
  • Rodelero: Tons of CC. The End.
  • Hoplite: Two skills that benefits from your Fencer buffs. Finestra is laughable at this circle, even for occasional AA farm.
  • Cataphract: What’s this thing doing here?!

For me AA swordie is viable only if you can stack a high amont of elemental attack or critical attack or both. High amont of str grants you a rasonable PA for AA but that PA is reduced by enemy def.

AA swordie need a very high investiment for a non granted future.
Sad but true.

Well, this is true, goinc C3 swordsman give you a lot of options (because costume!)
I tell you what Cata doing here - GOTTA GO FAST!

AA is actually good for those who have whatever damage they can accumulate and lots of AOE.

One of my plans, if circle reset = true, is resetting my farm character into a hop3>dop1>Dragoon. 2hspear+Finestra is awesome for solo dungeon silver farm. I already tested it.

Anyone here uses a Xbox One controller. Not a X360 controller. I’m intending to buy 1 for comfort. Wondering if using wire is better or getting a receiver is better

I played with one of at my friend’s. I actually liked it a lot, though I never played a wireless one to compare.

But the only thing that I dislike of wires is that sometimes you get a bad usb connector, which is the issue I have with my current ps3 controller (it is a separate micro usb 2 usb cable), so pay attention to that part when searching for one.

I do have a Xbox One so I knew that every Xbox One controller has a usb cord with it. Not every long though. The X360 controller was a beast, this One is even better

I took rode simply because it gives me more CC (shield charge being the main reason).

Unfortunetely, I can’t stand doing quests (I like grinding) so my char “died” at level 171 with no more xp cards.

The worst thing can happen with a wireless joystick:
When you’re killing a wb, your joy get out of power, you got crazy searching your cable, after you find that damn cable, you lose your cube.

hello fencers, i’m going to try and play a fencer too for the first time (i disliked the class at first) my plan is to go:
SW3>Pelt>Squire>Fencer3
reasons because i like pain barrier and restrain, pelt ability to swash, and squire is for self repair, arrest, afk shop and nice looking costume

about stat i was thinking maybe 2dex:1str with enought con but i don’t know, pls tell me what do you think and how much con i need!

also i don’t know how to juggle skill points in sw3, i was thinking
15 pain barrier
10 restrain
15 concentrate
1 pommel beat (hooray for the only strike dmg of the build)
1 double slash
3 bash

but i don’t know if thrust is needed and i’d like to take gung ho lv3 too…so i need to drop somethings but i don’t know what, ideas?

oh the focus of the character is to level with a group of friend or alone at sometimes and just have fun, i don’t care too much about ET but if the build can allow for it i might think it in the future

edit: i read somewhere gung ho is going to be % based, is it true??

Remove Pommel Beat, Coquille+Composee will do better, it’s pierce but ignores def completely.

you can take bash attribute at level 3, reset skills take bash level 1 and maintain the attribute. if you don’t want to do that take points away from concentrate or PB

possible, but I doubt it would be % based, probably str/dex scaling similar to concentrate.

also do NOT take squire in your ranks if you plan to use your character, that’s cutting off your potential directly because you can always repair from others. I’m using end game gear (all 170-220) and my repair costs are 15k-25k depending on which I repair, it’s cheap, don’t worry about it.

I suggest Barb1/Corsair1 instead of Squire.

how about stat and thrust?

btw i love squire too much and always wanted to do one, i don’t know if this char will be my main but i think i won’t regret picking squire anyways even if it’s not optimal.

i didn’t know the thing about skill reset but i don’t have lots of tp to spare so i’ll just keep lv3 bash and take some points from concentrate probably.

are you sure about pommel beat? it’s just 1 skill points in the end, it may prove useful if i up the % attribute? (since it’s a rank2 skills should be cheap until lv50 or so)

Composee around 50% attribute can do somewhere around 5k per hit if used with coquille vs plate targets

Squire’s okay to make money, but no way are you in a good condition to compete with c3 for the same price

if you are 100% sure of taking c1 squire go ahead, but you’ll miss a lot of slash damage by not taking barb1.

thrust - ignore it, you won’t need it.

stats, well tell us your plans first, if it’s soloing+bossing I recommend 1str:3dex and 35-70 allocated points in con

could be 1str:4dex if you want to use plate and have more evasion

edit: tested Lv3 composee(+5 venier) 50 attribute, does 4.3k per hit on magburk (plate)

After checking tos-kr to see monsters stats. Wizards will have a bad time with them, IMC literally triplicated monsters Mdef.

With our current patch, monsters has about 200+ mdef if compared with pdef. Now monsters over 280 has betwen 380~1300 pdef and 800~3k+ mdef. Will be pretty boring leveling solo killing normal mobs with minimum 170k hp and elite with minimum 300k hp. Feels like every mob become a miniboss.

Edit: Didn’t saw any mob with more than 200 con(critical resistance)
Edit2: Hightest acc/eva 540.

That’s the problem with Quick Cast attribute.

see how bad balancing destroys the game, now those without it will suffer even more.

this mdef thing has to be done because they know QC attribute exists and will try to balance around it.

When rank 8 comes, archers will be even more stronger. Some mobs has more than 1k pdef and for swordies who don’t have any armor breaker will suffer alot.

With mobs 540 eva/acc, full str build is out of question, and for us high dex how much eva will be our new cap? 1,6k?
