Going SR2 but not sure what to do before then. (Endgame viability)

Already better than Running shot even if it hits just two targets

Also u can get ridiculous AoE ratio with parties…

limacon is much better than running shoot because you don’t need luck for runningshoot gem , didel grand cross , mahanas set and marvel grand cross .
why not choose a class that has a synergy like canooner if you really want to maximize running shot , bazooka stance for AoE running shoot

Running Shot can be used to burst down flying bosses with a bow.
Or mow down flying mobs in 130 and 145 dungeons while your skills are on CD. I highly doubt the new Limacon can perform as effectively like Running Shot against flying mobs and bosses.

Meanwhile, both Running Shot and Limacon are filler skills to help fill damage while waiting for Concentrated Fire, Retreat Shot, and Forward Shot in grinding parties.

QS has pretty good single target damage for both field/dungeon farming and mission/dungeon bossing. While SR 3 provides 2 true AoEs (fixed targets, no need aoe ratio) to sweep dungeons and grinding maps.

Cannoneer’s bazooka stance requires proper usage of Barrier scrolls to use it effectively (can’t attack close targets) and affected by AoE attack ratio.

I’m sure you just need Marvel Grand Cross and Running Shot Gem for the ideal setup. Even without the ideal setup, Running Shot just need a good bow to burst down flying bosses and mobs with ease.

In fact, QS 3 - SR 3 can use both Running Shot and Limacon alternately depending on the situation, whether it’s single target or multiple targets or flying targets. Making it an even more machine-gunning playstyle.

Limacon has dmg attribute so it has potential to do the same damage against flying and 100% more against non flying than running shot.

You’re supossed to have Retreat Shot(CD 40), Front Assault(CD 60) AND Limacon(CD 35), don’t see much space for running shot there.

Better have Ranger for Melstis combo for Steady Aim with either Retreat shot or Frontal assault.

Also, neglecting QS makes it easier to focus on a crossbow purely for it’s secondary stats, leaving only your pistol for transcending and oferrefining.

Have i said already that’s why SR is so damn op?

I prefer using running shot vs boss / high hp single mob (saalus, mission whatever) than any of my sr skills ( my RS is 90%, C.fire 80, current limacon 80).

Most of the time u only do more dmg with SR skill when there’s a WIZ that willing to lethargy for you (well if u got fix pt WIz for that skip my post).

Also do notice that limacon range is somewhat short, running shot range longer.

I like my QS3SR2, works well in ET run. I can easily solo 1 lane in Uphill using only 5-10 barrier scroll max. Feelsgoodman, hail the mighty PAVISE BLOCK! Think ranger3 gona be either running around kiting or hide at mid with party

And 1 thing I guess most ppl don’t notice when u up attribute, I been doing some data gathering on my attribute actual dmg % gain lol. Guess wat, lv70-lv80 u only gain 6%+ instead of the 10%. My C.fire attribute lv40->lv80 only get 28.57% dmg gain instead of 40% … wellplay IMC

As a current A2>QS3>SR2 lvl 264, i can just say that the new limacon will be a good filler for SR but it will never replace the sustained damage of the Running Shot, you guys are talking about RS like if it was the only good skill on the QS set, but the stun from the Stone Shot and the utility of the caltrops, pavise and teardown have a great synergy with the SR too. I don’t really like to use limacon so often because it is just too mana hungry

At endgame, the only thing worth looking at on ranger is steady aim, and that is where multipliers are the most important factors.

It doesn’t matter if steady aim has 40% uptime. The point is it’s a burst. Big damage in a short time frame.

Also, SR isn’t going to be hitting damage cap anytime soon.

And yes, ranger will be better than wugushi in the future because wugushi scales additively in this game and that isn’t good for the future since multiplicative bonuses are more valued with higher numbers.

The only real benefit wugushi brings is free unconditional damage.

I dunno man. Unless we truly play SR3 we will never know if RS is really useless. Well, as per report most popular SR3 build in KTOS are QS3 btw.

You talk about RS like its damage is useless. Remember that running shot is FASTER than limacon and with the new crossbow (Marvel crossbow with +1 RS) you will deal alot of damage with the running shot (Talking about like 12K+ per shot in RS).

As a lvl 280 QSSR2, i was actually saddened when people talked about QS being useless in R8. I was like, OMG do I need to reroll? But when I saw the video of limacon, it was slower than Running Shot and it is a buff that MAYBE won’t replace my RS but instead the FILLER that I have been waiting for . But of course, I still don’t know because I haven’t tried SR3 yet.

As for me, I swear by the running shot because it suits my playstyle being at a range while shooting and constantly moving as compared to Ranger 3 melee playstyle. In addition, I like caltrops, pavise and stoneshot which helps me alot in pve and pvp.

And talking about ET… Yes, Ranger build has great advantage as compared to QS because of the steady aim buff but please do not forget that you can use Mole cards to boost your damage.

As for OP’s question, I would go the R3 route just for the steady aim full boost.

here’s my personal thought:

not sure why Bother for Running shot if you got Forward Shot and Retreat shot alternately. this are key skills until the end game, while R3 (steady aim) backing it up.

Here’s the thing for QSRS builds, there are still two (2) circle coming, R9 and R10.

IF, any of those Rank doesn’t contain a good Buff or supportive Skill to improve your AA, your builds are dead. IMC said itself, mostly R1-R4 will be fillers.

TL;DR,

Rotation wise, QS3 will never be a good pick.

Assault fire is by no means going to work on rank 9 or 10 as long as it doesn’t get an enhance attribute. QS is still awesome if you watch ktos videos. The only thing I hope is that assault fire is a strike skill so we get a lethargy buff like with concentrated fire and retreat shot :3

For bosses there’s a trick for using retreat shot in a better way than relying on walls or moving a lot: Boss monsters usually have collision box smaller than their hit box.

How do you animation cancel crossbow attacks with running shot active?
So I read running shot is ping dependent. I’ve seen this personally because there are times when my auto attacks are slow as mud.
How do you get better ping in tree of savior?

I’ve done the cut and paste change in the tos user file.

Personally I use the mouse mode anicancel. Set the game input to mouse mode, then just hold left click on the target while moving around a bit.

You can use Mudfish or Wtfast to lower your ping. Both are paid services though, with Mudfish as the cheapest alternative.

That is just your personal assumption.
Can you back up your info with an objective evidence, such as hard facts and/or numbers?

Retreat Shot has 40s cooldown, while Forward Shot has 60s cooldown. Even with a Chrono 3, you will be forced to use other skills during the cooldowns.

Running Shot with 300%(+80% with grand cross) base attack power will remain as one of the best fillers, especially against bosses and high hp mobs. BiS setup will give you 460% attack power with Marvel Grand Cross and Running Shot Gem. Running Shot with a bow will deal 600%(+80% with RS gem) damage against flying enemies. Combine all of this multiplication with Weapon Transcend (+550% at Lv. 10), is this the damage output of a supposedly dead build? :stuck_out_tongue:

We haven’t even mention the other QS skills, such as Rapid Shot’s zero critical resistance debuff, Scatter Caltrops’ knockdown and burst, Stone Shot’s 10 seconds stun (5s in PvP), Pavise to taunt mobs and block those Spiral Arrow spams when you are underleveled and/or underequipped.

you forgot to deduct the duration time for every skill, because the cooldown starts once you press the skill button. that’s -10sec for Retreat shot.

oh, did i forgot i mentioned regarding R9 and R10?
with the new addition of Marvel Grandcross a light was shed for QS, but without R9 and R10 info. the future is still too dim. it seems you didn’t fully understand what i posted. i’ll just say it again.

and don’t give me this reason:
Transcend (+550% at Lv. 10), is this the damage output of a supposedly dead build?
550% boosts your basic atk? that’s nice, shall i remind you how that 550% will boost ‘MOST’ skills with 100% attribute damage?

can your Running shot compete with these damage? Barrage x3, Multi Shot x2, Concentrate Shot x1, Retreat shot and Forward Shot?

this game mostly relies on skill attributes. even without weapons. they can deal mass damage.

but just 1 of those 5 skills is ranger only, and you cannot compare Barrage with RS, one is a great AOE with 3 overcharges and good damage, and the other has great single target DPS and sustained damage for +30 seconds that let you fill the gaps between the CDs of the other skills.

In my opinion both builds (Ranger/QS) are good, you just have to choose which one suits better your play style. Btw, what is your SR build?

You should stop with breaking a single quote into a multiple quotes of the same post. It makes it so hard to clean up all of that quotes, you know…

 1. Let’s just say Chrono 3 uses pass after you finished your Retreat Shot + Forward Shot.
 2. Retreat Shot cd will be refreshed (20s + 25s pass), while Forward Shot will be at around 25s cd (10s + 25s pass)
 3. Pass will go into cd.
 4. Retreat Shot is used
 5. At the end of Retreat Shot, you will have 15s cd until you can use Forward Shot
 6. Pass is still on 40s cooldown (Pass can’t be self applied on itself on kTOS, not sure if Pass in our version is prenerf or postnerf)

We don’t know what will happen at rank 9 and 10. Both of QS3 Sr3 and Ra3 Sr3 might need to reroll to the latest shiny meta. We don’t even know whether iToS will last until then.

At rank 8, Cannoneer 2 and Musketeer 2 started to reach damage cap on their strongest skills (thanks to Smoke Grenade and Butt Stroke’s new attribute). Too many assumptions to form a coherent conclusion for the present situation. Can shed a light on me with your clairvoyance?

100% attribute doubles the skill damage, which effectively makes it a 200% multiplier ratio. Running Shot has at least 300% multiplier ratio, which can go up as high as 460-680%. Higher multiplier obviously gets more candies from the huge attack increase of Weapon Transcending.

I don’t know why Running Shot has to compete with all of those skills. It is not like that QS3 A2 SR3 suddenly can’t use all of those skills, except Barrage. Do you understand what a filler skill used for? :cold_sweat:

In the long run, I am pretty sure the total damage of Running Shot’s auto attacks during its filler time can still outdps the difference of all those skills without Steady Aim and without needing tons of Lv.10 Glass Mole Cards being used in the video. :stuck_out_tongue:

Since you seemed to have left out the poor Spiral Arrow, I propose that you should at least mention Spiral Arrow + Full Draw combo here. That combo works great against flying mobs too (with 2H Bow). #nochildleftbehind

Anyway we have gone out of topic here. Sorry to OP for hijacking your topic.

Imc should let RS die quietly, instead they threw a bone to avoid crybaby koreans(remember the guardian fiasco?), now we still have to hear people defending RS. Just stop relying on it for endgame damage,it won’t ever happen.

RS can’t hit more than one enemy, it will never compare to skills, let it die, fin.

why let it die as it is one the class that you can actually mount and AOE?

maybe some doesn’t care mount or no mount, some ppl do

The fact is IMC has been coddling up to QS3 players, so it’s pretty safe to say that the trend will continue.

QS3 got Didel and Marvel Grand Cross, and now they are considering to remove trading restrictions on items up to purple tiers. Do you really think they will stop supporting QS3 at this point?

All of this happens while most of other low rank classes are being left to fend for themselves. :smirk:

Bazooka Stance’s aoe attack is considered as normal attacks, so its damage is amplified by Running Shot. Does it count as hitting more than one enemy as it’s affected by Running Shot? :joy_cat:
