Going SR2 but not sure what to do before then. (Endgame viability)

Here’s what I’ve come down to personally.

A2 - R2 - Wugushi 1 - SR 2

A2 - R3 - SR2 (standard, but I don’t believe further ranks into Ranger are worthwhile.)

A2 - R1 - Sapper 2 - SR 2 (This is only if Broom Trap offers immense AOE DPS for late game vs more ranks of Ranger/Wugushi)

I don’t plan on using QS3, so let’s not mention it.

Why Wugushi 1,

I would LIKE to believe the poison duration would do more for me than the 3rd circle of Ranger but it’s hard to say.

I am open to other paths but they need to be viable for most PVE endgame content.

EDIT: Wugu 2 skill doesn’t work on mount.

Depends really.

R3 vs R1 wugu2 is like a gamble.

Ranger 3 has better burst and will be technically better once damage gets to stupid levels.

On the other hand wugu 2 has better early gameplay, sustain, and is “true damage” (meaning defense is not factored for it)

I don’t know if you’ve hit 280 yet but what would you consider is a smooth playing experience at 280 for Archers? I know AOE is a big part of it which has led me to believe that

I am either going to end up as a
Canoneer for their short CD AoE Spam
SR (The middle of pack I assume but +++mobility)
Falconer - Musketeer (Otherwise I’m just single target burst which I might as well go Fletcher for/This seem like a high CD kind of build and I haven’t heard any information on the PVE field experience.)

I know Sapper’s boom trap adds alot of AOE utility but I’m not sure how it fits with other things. Wugushi’s poison apparently has some crazy scaling and acts as a nice filler although it’s debatable if it beats R3.

Sadly nope. I haven’t even passed level 160~

So I can’t help you there. The only thing I do know is that SR is considered the king of aoe once rank 8 comes along.

Go and read this guide, currently I’m building Archer > Ranger 3 > Archer 2 > SR3, (sitting at Archer 2 right now) and this guide is helping me a lot. The author points the difference between the early picks and what is viable depending on what you are planning.

Even before r8, SR is already the best archer to bring in ET. One of the first team (both in ktos and itos, iirc) to clear ET had SR as their main dps.

Oh really? Fcuk Gu Pot. 10 points every other poison work

This is perfect, how you found this is beyond me haha! Thank you.

It’s a toss up between R3 and Wugu but if you don’t mind then unmounting for throw pot seems OK.

Just don’t add Throw Gu Pot. 5s poison with bonus 500 damage doesnt worth much. You can use the Skill point to add to Zhendu which prolong the Duration, Poison properties debuff and little damage.
I could make a quick build here. Free to choose whatever in SR

my sr build is a2,r1,wugu2,sr2 , i am add 1 point for throw pot , because i need this skill for going to sr1 , i think ranger3 is better , because you don’t need to much damage skill for lower rank , %buff is more usefull for end game

My build A3-Wugu2-SR2. Also I have A2-Q3-SR2 and A2-R3-SR2.

combo “Wugong Gu + Retreat Shot” (vs. 100k+ HP mobs) is better for me in solo grind, than “Steady Aim + Retreat Shot”. Retreat shot spread poison Wugong Gu, and mobs die faster.

I already have a A1-QS2 with +7 GC and now I’m thinking of going A2-R3-SR2/3 instead. Tree of Rerolls.

why did u stop at qs2? it gets much easier at qs3 with running shot

lol after I got my ranger 3 to sr I’ve been thinking all the opposite on how cool it could be to have running shot and keep attacking fast after retreat shot is over. SR is all about the skills when mounted, if you want mobility while shooting basic attacks better get that running shot.

but sr have limacon, that skill give mobility basic attack

went A1 > R3 > Rogue1 > SR2

i traded A2 (swift step attrib crit rate) for Rogue 1 (sneak hit).

with the help of werewolf cards (allows every atk to be considered from behind). and sneak hit (being a flat Crit rate of %%). so yeah. that sums it up. i’m still trying to complete werewolf cards. but i think you guys know where its going to… right?

  • Ranger 3 deals crappy single target damage in solo missions.
  • Steady Aim sucks hard until you get a Krivis 3 to join your party (hopefully with Chrono 3 too)
  • Spiral Arrow literally goes out of the window if you’re just a bit distant from the target.
  • Bounce Shot? it’s only good to lure some enemies once a while.
  • Nobody knows if Ranger 3 will be technically better in future. Steady Aim Lv15 gives +20% damage for 10 seconds. Don’t forget, there’s a DAMAGE CAP in this game. :innocent:
  1. Running Shot is much better than Limacon in single target damage due to hitting twice a second with increased attack speed and animation cancel.
  2. Limacon deals fixed additional damage, while Running Shot scales with physical attack and elemental attack. This means Running Shot is in better position to scale with Weapon Transcending and future power creeps.
  3. Limacon can be attributed to deal up to 2x damage, but can you pay the attribute cost? Most people probably could only afford 70% attribute on it, which is 7.68m silvers after counting the recently implemented 20% attribute cost discount. Want 100% attribute on it? Pay 59.2m silvers.
  4. You can only use pistol when using Limacon.
  5. You need to get the new spread attribute for Limacon to make it worth it. Pay 1m silvers.

pistol autoattack scales with aoe-ratio equip unlike the crossbow. I dont think it’s bad.

It would be nice if Limacon’s auto attack has a synergy with AOE Attack Ratio.
Unfortunately, I have only ever seen Limacon hits two targets with the new spread attribute though…

Let’s say…
If a pistol auto-attack penetrates three medium-sized targets with 5 AOE Attack Ratio, will it hit another three nearby targets with the new spread attribute?
If it works like this, it will become the SR version of Split Arrow! :airplane:
