General etiquette for dungeons and missions - let's make queues great again!

Jesus christ it was up for 3 minutes, calm down.

And you’re advocating for people to interact with other people nicely while overreacting and being snarky like that.

ok but

Yeah, that’s me being snarky…

Cure. That’s a good one to bring up. Players standing on that tile will burn it out faster. Then I can’t have my weird cure machinegun attacking the boss.

I know they will, i played cbt when queues didn’t exist to begin with.

People WAY overstate this whole “people would get kicked because of their builds” garbage. Just give it a rest.

  • If half the playerbase really was getting kicked from parties, couldn’t THEY make their own parties? I mean, if you accept that their parties would just flop then there’s an issue with how people are building and what they’re expecting out of that character.

  • I play a good class myself and yet literally all i want when running a dungeon is a half decent healer (i.e. cleric2, i don’t care if you’re bokor, sadhu or monk after that) and maybe either a pelt or a linker. Having those i wouldn’t kick anyone else unless they’re actual shitters.

In the end if queues didn’t exist it’s not certain players that wouldn’t get to run dungeons, it’s certain parties. If you enjoy getting matched with 4 swordies, afkers, boss rushers, etc; then more power to you friend.

Btw can you drop the whole “it’s a game design’s fault and not the player’s”? That’s literally the speech of a shitter - if you don’t want to learn how to play a game as it is made and blame design everytime you have to use half a braincell you’re better off going to watch TV instead, i’m sure it’d be just as enjoyable for you.

I didn’t say I wasn’t snarky earlier did I?

Everyone expecting people to tryhard in a mode that literally can’t be failed deserves calling out for it.

This interaction is only justifying my point further, you have to matchmake people or you’ll get countless shitty interactions that serve to colour people’s experience and feelings about the game and its community.

You only have to look at how people feel about grind parties to understand that.

No they don’t overstate it. I fundamentally disagree.

“That’s literally the speech of a shitter”

Please communicate like an adult. This is completely unnecessary.

“blame design everytime you have to use half a braincell you’re better off going to watch TV instead”

Expecting people to tryhard in a gamemode that can literally not be failed is the problem here. If you want people to try harder, then actually making them NEED to try harder is the point I’ve made. If you spent 5 minutes reading my post you would have understood that. The problem with the design is that there is absolutely no need for players to bother trying - so they don’t.

Right, forcing people that dislike each other and how they play into the same party over and over makes SO much sense, instead of doing something simple like promoting like-minded individuals to form their own parties together…

You know what’s funny at the end of it all? Is that even if you were somehow right about players quitting the moment they can’t force themselves into a party, all you are really doing is delaying the inevitable and building up the impact.

By your own views, the moment people get to a point where queue EXP/EXP in general is no longer that relevant, everyone you just described is in deep trouble anyway.

You don’t need to phrase it like I would argue otherwise. Yes that’s the case. It’s also where a significant number of players quit the game.

We don’t need to make it worse.

Pardon my french sweetie: That’s literally the speech of a lazy individual who wants to play mmos with other people despite having no regards for them and who will act in a way that’s detrimental to everyone (including themselves) just because they can and blame the game’s design for it.

I did read your posts (sorry if i can’t keep up with your constant edits though), and yet all i see is you saying that not wanting to spend half an hour doing something that could be done with those same individuals in half the time if they worked with their party instead of against it is “tryharding”.

Can you be any more condescending?

Stop bringing up edits to fix grammar made within 5 minutes of the post being made. The edits are timestamped, everyone can see that, don’t act like I changed anything important or significant.

All I’m seeing here is ad hominem instead of actually addressing any point made.

Are you even serious? You literally make 1 line posts and edits it into an essay

Literally lying.

Is it really that unenjoyable to play with a build that isn’t completely unsound? And to play in a way that isn’t near equivalent to a cat walking across a keyboard?

Why even play a multiplayer game to begin with when you have such a strong desire to play in an abnormal manner.

Actually you basically went from saying “Half the population wouldn’t be able to find a party because of their build” to “People wouldn’t party with others who are 16 and under” - That’s why I brought it up the first time anyway, because that’s a totally different reply.

I saw it happen with this post actually. You posted the first sentence then edited the rest of your speech in.

The forums doesn’t show edits made within a couple minutes of you posting a comment. It also doesn’t show consecutive edits until a certain amount of time has passed after an edit has been made.

You’re trying so hard to save face that i have to wonder if you’re the same guy who deleted his reddit account the other day… Can’t imagine why :frowning:

Welp. I don’t remember doing that at all. Bad habits?

Besides the point anyway, the edits don’t matter at all and the two of them are totally using it to avoid having any meaningful discussion about the points.

I would be entirely willing to discuss the merits and flaws however people want to throw insults instead of address anything meaningful.

If you don’t even remember doing things you’ve done repeatedly over the last several minutes, I question your credibility to argue a valid point at all. Perhaps you’ve had one too many to drink? If that’s the case then it’s cool. I could use something to drink too.

You’re right, the edits don’t matter that much - but YOU’RE the one making a big deal out of it. See:

This was my entire post (unedited tho…). Yet, you literally picked out the parenthesis where i said “sorry if i can’t keep up with your constant edits though” as if that was the whole thing and said i’m failing to address your points. Meanwhile i did, repeatedly, you just didn’t like it and said all i was doing is insult (beautiful word btw, you can use it, no need to try and look smart with some over-used latin words) you.

Good job though, calling 3 people here liars cuz they called u out on ur bs - them sum gr8 points ur making.

Ok ok let’s take a step back and reset then! We can both take a breath agree to both focus on the points rather than the person right?

I think the counter argument is that there’s also nothing stopping anyone using premades isn’t it?

Aside from the exp boost. But that’s the incentive for using the search function. It’s a design choice.

I would be thinking that both features need to remain, but I wouldn’t be at all against removing this incentive and simply making both premades and search function equal. If people want to do that, they then can with no differences.

I don’t think they will though, because it’s not exactly a gamemode that requires premades or thought and everyone will just use the search function anyway. But I think that’s why you want the search function to go away entirely isn’t it? But then I’d be asking why we would be doing away with a function that everyone would likely still preferentially use over premades.

That’s written as a bit of a stream of consciousness assuming that the discussion would have gone that direction anyway. If I’m wrong at any point in that stream please pick it out!
