- Swordsmen (or rather, everyone), it’s alright if you don’t want to tank but if you do get the aggro don’t run around dragging the boss out of every AoE. You can dodge 90% of boss attacks literally by jumping, and circling around is a much better strategy than running away.
- Archers, please turn off Swift Step’s attribute. It does next to nothing for other players, all it really does is overwrite their selfbuffs and good party buffs.
- Wizards, please don’t use Reflect Shield. It does nothing for anyone other than overwrite actual buffs.
- Cryos, PLEASE don’t icewall if you don’t plan on PP’ing it. It’s completely anti-synergistic to a ton of skills and restricts movement for the players themselves.
yea that cryo one. i’ve seen cryos use icewall and doesn’t even compress it. he just releases that wall in a straight line blocking melee characters. all for what? that little tiny damage that doesn’t even matter because he didn’t compress it and chose to release it in a straight line. as for people who take mobs or bosses out of aoe’s not only swordsman are guilty of this but other classes too. like ones that draw aggro due to their dps. in low level parties pyros drew first hit with his skills, ele cast hail and only grazes the boss. other mages who can jump and attack don’t seem to know how to circle around the boss and instead retreats backwards. if you hop and circle around boss the boss pretty much move very little. as for reflect shield and swift step’s lack of use for others, that message never seem to catch on. well for pyromancers… fireball problem, pryos hate swordies.
This is true. I mentioned Swordsman mostly because they have an attribute to generate more threat, making it so they can get aggro even if they aren’t the top DPS. Nonetheless, this is a issue with every class.
Pretty much.
That’s why I got Krivis as Priest full support: Daimio all the way!! A party that can always have 14-16 buffs at the same time is a happy party
No more overwrite!!
This only applies if there’s no Krivis in the group.
I’ve some more:
Krivis, please keep Daino up all time. Don’t just cast it once and then let is expire. It doesn’t cost anything, it has a short cooldown, it’s literary the easiest buff to keep up.
Non-clerics, if you have a Priest C2/C3 in your group, don’t always run behind him, when you are on low health. He can only heal in front. Not to mention that taking cover behind the priest is…
Archers / Swordsman, if you see a blue spiral sign on the ground, walk on it. It gives you a very good crit buff.
Also mostly for all but less important:
- If you ask for buffs, don’t run around, stand close to the cleric
- Don’t run into the orange field, it’s a debuff for monsters that is removed when a player touches it
While this is true, it doesn’t change the fact that they’re still virtually useless buffs. You’re basically relying on people stopping and checking if there’s a krivis, if they even know what that is (which’s very dubious for someone who took reflect shield in their build to begin with), to get… nothing at all.
If people just realized those are bad skills (or bad attribute, in Swift Step’s case) parties with a Krivis would still be just as happy, and parties without one would be 100000x happier.
Im ok with the running for cover behind my FS cleric, shes tougher than them (most of the time), but it gets annoying to see them panicking because they got hit badly and running like headless chickens.
Also, no one, NO ONE seems to get the dont step on my monstrance PLIX
Another thing for cleric/priest in the 50s dungeon… if you end on a party with other cleric/priest check who has the highest buff and let that person do it…
I have had to yell at the party to let me bless instead of them.
You can hover over the party list and see what classes are in your group. That’s what everybody should do at the beginning of a run.
Also I don’t know Swift Step, but Reflect Shield is pretty nice. Even if it’s just 5% less damage in endgame, 5% is still better than nothing and at no cost if Daino is active.
Yeah but that’s pretty much the same issue, I always position myself so that I can heal the one that is about to get hit and when the damage comes in, I press the Mass Heal hotkey, but they often just start running and dodge the healing all the time.
Haha, yeah. In fact, it magically attracts the players. Maybe because it’s shiny.
Could generally be said for buffs too. But often people just rush through the dungeon without saying a word, so there is hardly time to start talking about who has the highest level of what buff.
At least with blessing you can see who has the strongest, but level 10 Sacrament vs level 1 Sacrament can’t be distinguished.
For Blessing I usually try to let the one with the stronger Blessing cast it, but the problem is that other players often have a problem with 100% upkeep time. Or they have a stronger blessing but refuse to use it because it’s too expensive. So in the end, I often end up casting Blessing anyway on my Priest.
No, i will use these skills, if you dont like beg to IMC more buff slots
You pasta is out of control.
Careful, you might cut people with all that edge.
@topic: I’ve learned not to use Swift Step’s attribute or Reflect Shield as time went on. So nah, I believe I hardly do anything disruptive anymore. XD
It does suck to be an Elementalist when I’ve cast my Hail/Frost Cloud on the monsters, only for them to be suddenly lured away.
I have one to add:
Aspersion is a pretty garbage buff, don’t use unless you have Daino. Think of it like (party) Swift Step or Reflect Shield.
They should just remove Swift Step attribute and Reflect Shield from the game so nobody can screw you over by casting them. Garbage buffs.
@MagicTart I agree with Aspersion. I mean we all now that physical defense and evasion are pretty worthless in this game so why bother with another useless buff slot. Health and total avoidance is more useful than Aspersion.
And remember linkers, physical link does not consume a buff slot so keep using that skill. Link everybody until a riot starts and IMC finally notice us.
tl;dr Use physical link /sarcasm
Video, where? Because I’ve never seen anything miss me purely because I was jumping.
In missions you can dodge some, not all, if (said poata previously meant golem) aoe ground pounds by jumping at the right time. Earlier than what you think. I can record a video later. There are other ground based aoes you can avoid in a similar manner.
You can also jump-attack away from falling spines and apples
Plz dear elementalists, dont use rain right after the pyro deploys his fire skills… the rain will cancel them.
Probably not all the bosses but namely the golem and tree in the siauliai mission. Golem, you can avoid all attacks by jumping on the spot except the rolling one. For the tree, all except the double palm slam. Poata you can avoid his normal attacks if u timed well. But the aoe roar attack you have to get out of range… For the mole, I didn’t bother and just run around
Can we add:
If you have Revive on you do not NEED to run when your HP falls below 50%, you may though.
Druid2 has a Safety Zone like skill they can cast on their grass. If you get a little sprout icon above you, it’s like safety zone. Feel free to chill there for the ~10 second duration.
