Have you seen how Rift has been going downhill with all its decisions? AH used to be for everyone and now its locked behind cash. Now, new classes for characters are being locked behind paywalls and there are pay to win equipment as well.
The game went from behind highly rated to completely terrible by its player base, leaving again only the minority left. The game is not the same as it once was to people.
Iâve jumped ship from most of these games and was right about a lot of things. Archeage being the biggest one where people defended it to the death on how it wasnât bad but in reality it was horrible. Hardcore people especially in the competitive scene always want people to knock around because thatâs what keeps the game going and not so much the gameplay itself. These people will be the last person you want to believe about things since they usually want you to stay because it keeps them busy. lmao
Iâm sure Archeage âis doing greatâ right now.
I donât think so. You have to keep in mind that Rift is an old game and itâs wearing off as well as WoW, not necessarily because their model but because itâs getting boring, so itâs hard to tell if its downhill is due their new model.
On the other hand, donât forget this is business. When you run a business you want to know your environment and past experiences. They know whatâs going on, you canât just assume because you didnât like a change itâs going to do bad to the game
That doesnât even make sense⌠wait till its too late?? Your blowing it way out of proportion and trying to instill fear into people with little to no reason. Itâs like trying to convince people something might happen when you actually have no idea. Theres a thin line between being proactive and being paranoid with your tin foil hat.
Hm, ArcheAge is a bad example because everyone I knew and entire reddit knew the game would fail because their model, it was super clear since launch and you didnât need to be a genius that it was P2W.
In this case (model), players can only save time that itâs not broken.
As I said before, I agree trade needs to be tweaked but you can have a nice conversation about it and not bitching, calling people liars and stuff
Five years is not old, but the age of a game is not what makes it good or not.
Hell, the Nostralrius WoW Private Server that was recently shut down, though probably may have heard about it, was based on the original WoW Expansion and had a ton of players. Age doesnât determine whether a game is good or not.
Business? A business makes money by bringing in potential customers while keeping current ones satisfied so that they keep paying, so what do you know about a business? Their current business model is causing me NOT to pay, and is turning away others and are never coming back. There is a lot of MMOs out there and that means those who play are spread thinly among them. You want to keep as many as you can.
Btw, I refer myself as a hardcore player and I complained million times on many games but itâs always and exclusively when itâs is unbalanced, when you canât compete even. Money being a factor.
In this case, I see no unfairness in competition. When the time comes, Iâll wreck token or non tokens

Have you tried to compete on market with 30% tax against 10%?
If you are alchemist selling pots, youâll have to add 44% to the cost of materials to get even.
Token users have it easy with additional 12% - everything above is their profit.
Being able to list only 1 type of pot at a time against 10 only rubs salt into wound.
Itâs an apples to oranges but still all fruit example. One game had the publisher lie about not putting content into the game everyone hated in order to buy $100 founder packs then proceded to go full retard putting everything in the game in the cash shop. This game decided it was alright to rush release offering early access not even listening to testers about server issues, hacks, and bots while also putting in things people hated. Both Korean games except Archeage is the truest form of what people should complain about P2W schemes.
Also, sorry for seeming brash about the hardcore competitive comment. Itâs just usually I see these people in the most denial about things because youâre spending more time engaging people rather than other aspects of the game. This game could very well go that route if they seriously wanted to given the cries of all the people on here asking for open world PVP. Any complaints people had would be drowned out and fueled by all the people who just simply want PVP not caring about anything else.
Well, you are a merchant already then, you should have enough money to stay relevant at market. I donât see it unbalanced but more like you have to pay some fee (right now even 1m silver is not that much) if you want to play the market. And even if you are non token you can buy and sell items but only limited
I thought we were having a nice conversation. With that attitude you seem afraid to say what you really think
Sometimes we can agree and sometimes we wonât, but why would you waste your time playing passive-aggresive here? Itâs just opinions at the end of the day. What you do doesnât bring anything to the discussion
I can be wrong with my point of view but thatâs why you share with others, so you can point it out and let me know in a nice way
How is increased team storage game content?
Team storage was usable by token users anyway. The increase of team storage space is just a convencience, so people donât have to constantly relogin between characters just to transfer 3 items. Or do you say itâs âgame contentâ because it is a collection?
How is it bad that token users can now sell more items?
It just makes using tokens more worth using. I know that non-token users still can only sell 1 item, but thats a restriction i think is acceptable for playing a good game for free! You do realize the developers also need money to live, right? Developers bills are not getting paid by happy thoughts from players who play for free, these people need money to live. So there is nothing wrong in making tokens more worth using.
Itâs not like they are introducing additional subscription-like cashshop items that we need to buy for real money, they just improve the tokens that we already have (and use). If they introduced a âtoken mk2â with the feature âif you buy a token AND a token mk2 then you will have all these improvementsâ then iâd agree that itâd be a greed cashgrab. However since we wont have to spend more money other than the tokens that we already use and still get improved features i see nothing wrong with it. Essentially weâll get more convenience and more features for the same money.
For non-token users nothing changed to the worse. Quite the contrary : the trade changes make it a bit more convenient for non-token users aswell.
Exactly. Whatever you do there will always be problems.
The subscription base on the game isnât even that expensive too. so I donât know what these kids are whining about. You can even trade the token now even without the use of AH. so i donât know whats pay-to-win there. Also itâs pretty cheap if you buy it in-game. 300-500k isnât hard to farm even if youâre new to this game.
Last time I checked you can get tokens for 300-400k on the market which doesnât take much time and effort to farm if you know what youâre doing. So in saying that I donât understand where your argument comes from. Plus if you enjoy this game you shouldnât be complaining that they are offering more reasons for people to support it so it doesnât just die off from going bankrupt. The only valid argument when it comes to paid content is if itâs only available with real money and gives the user an unfair advantage.
Reading through all these posts, I can say for sure once F2P hits, the tokens will no longer be at 300k-500k range. In fact it will balloon up to at least a million (maybe more).
Reason? Itâs simple 101 Economics really. If there is demand for it, supply will decrease, and if supply decreases, prices will go up.
Also I donât really care much for the team storage (it is good that they remove the potential and stuff), since I donât see myself playing more than one character. However, that does not mean I disagree with OPâs post, I rather players have free access to Team Storage and then limit said storage slots.
