Fencer to overshadow Hoplites?

XD Circle 2 and lvl 10 is going raise your damage only for 200 and increase your sp cost 20 sp… So 600 damage + no cooldown + 73sp cost… Is that worth it?

all i want for it is a gap closer and im happier +

edit: and anti mage skill from granado espada, IMC pls

Possibly. SPR block pen might be okay too.

100% agree, I’m rolling that now, and deciding if I want to stick with it in iCBT2 or roll Doppelsoldner (once I see what those new skills are).

Exactly, I was really looking for it in fencer, hopefully Attaque Composee lives up to it!

Mostly want circle 2 for preparation and attaque composee.

IMO Barbarians are still OP compared to other classes.
Highlander’s damage is pretty lacklustre compared to Barbarian and Barbarian’s high damage, buffs and stuns still bring so much to your build, no matter which class you wanna be.
All with no weapon restrictions…

Higher ranked Fencer seems to be beast in Pvp and Boss killing…

I feel that Barbarian is quite strong. But I also don’t think it’s necessary in all swordsman builds now unlike before.

They did a great job of making it so that barbarian isn’t really nerfed hard, while still keeping build diversity in the swordsman tree.

If you really want to do well with Barb, you need atleast c2, which means you miss out on other builds that have different synergy.

If I was a purely PvP player, I wouldn’t pick up barb with fencer. Instead I’d go either swordsman 3, or more highlander, but both seem quite difficult to PvE with.

If I was a pure PVP player, I wouldn’t be going fencer period lol, at least not at rank 6. Unless fencer c2 and c3 changes things…

I’d go Rodelero for PVP

if the fencer indeed has a gap closer in rank2 its another story

Nice info, truly amazing but it needs improvement. Thanks for sharing! :+1:

There one interesting thing about Fencer… It does not benefit much from Hoplite or Highlander… So if people go for Fencer… then maybe Swordsman, Peltast, Rodelero or barbarian would be good combination??

Or swc3>barbc2>fencer
I think its a nice deal going sword c3 to get maximum buffs and barb c2 with the same mind. It will be like and AA path build just to buff up fencer on hit.

Since the two classes have both good and bad points the only way to choose between them is: Which one is cooler (appearance wise)?

A spear holding like a spartan or rapier (or floret?) holding like a musketeer? Leonidas or Athos, Porthos and Aramis?

I was going for Petalsta>Hoplite>Centurion because he can aggro, tank and support with formations while doing damage with finestra. But now with Centurion going rank 7 I’m thinking of going Hoplite C2-3>Squire C1-2>Centurion for the Arrest.

With Spear + Net I can be a gladiator now

Aparently you cant atk while using arrest, but yeah its a nice concept build to a support tank.

I’ve considered this before as well, the main reason to get swordsman c3 is for Restrain.
GungHo and Concentrate’s extra attack/damage increase from c2 to c3 at rank 6 is negligible.
It’s a choice between 40% stun and losing buffs / strong attack skills from Barbarian, or
20% stun and getting max level of some of these: Flange / Warcry / Cleave / Helm Chopper / Seism.
For me, it’s a clear choice. Instead of possibly stunning more, I’d rather take the stronger skills or buffs and kill the monster outright.

Aye sir. It can be done too.
Swc3 (max buff) is nice though if your going to spend money in attributes to build it up a little more (+50 for both).

But Arrest can be used while Centurion’s formations are active right? So I trap them and let everyone kill.

But looking at the description, is Arrest able to stop charge skills from the boss?

It seems boss can keep attacking while trapped, but if he’s a melee type and everyone keep a distance plus the 50% physical defense decrease, it’s the same as attacking a rock.

I really dont know. Lets summon @DiscKZee and see what he knows about it

I’m actually not sure about Arrest vs bosses, but the skill seems to have changed from the original skill video.

You can see what I mean here.

It locks enemies in place, preventing movement but not skills and attacks. I’m not sure if they prevent bosses from using skills which make them move either.

I actually don’t know much about this skill, sorry. :disappointed_relieved:

Also, a reminder that Centurion will be removed from Rank 6 in place of Fencer. So when it comes back at a higher rank, it may be slightly different.

Thanks for the answer.
It seems the mobs can’t turn around while trapped, if the same is applied to boss and you arrest him from behind, we can basically prevent most of their attacks, even if he can use a charge skill he’ll go on the opposite direction. Only an all-directions skill is usable in this state.

Because of Centurion going rank 7 that I’m thinking of taking Squire C2 and not Hoplite C3.

I feel like Barb is pretty big waste after the nerfs. Compared to Hoplite for example. Barb gets 400 flat attack from 20 frenzy stacks and Hoplites have a flat 150 crit rate.

But Frenzy’s duration was nerfed hard, you can only have it up for 50/90 seconds. That and it takes time to build stacks, and you’ll only be at your strongest less than half the time, compared to Hoplites which have their buff up permanently. (Warcry is similar).

Hoplites get all 3 melee attack types, bonus dmg against bosses, mobility and a 7 second root to balance out the other stuff Barb gets.

Barbs do have some great AOE skills, but their base damage is all outclassed by those of high ranked classes, so those will fall off in the end anyway.

Fencers have a lot of potential but I still think Doppels are stronger with what we know.
