Exp Gain with PvP/Arena/etc

I think this would be a nice feature, if it’s not something that’s already implemented. Basically, allow those who enjoy PvPing to use it as an option for grinding. No different from spending time grinding, no more advantageous.

Games that I am aware of that employ this are TESO (specific area) and Everquest 2 (pvp server, faction based).

It would not affect people who don’t want to do it to level and it s also helpful for people who get burned out on grinding. Instead of being forced to grind PvE content just to gain experience tl do the PvP you want to enjoy you can do both at one time. Plus it’ll give those same people more actual play experience in the area they want to be without making them feel like they’re just saying their time.

They dont actually need to be balanced.

Better to say it will be impossible to do that.
You can enhance your equip before an match, evne get buffs on you.

It’s easyer to make certain combos work well together.

Like 1 Monk, 1 Archer, 2 Clerics.
Or 4 Monks.
Or 4 Archer type.

It all matters which skills are used on what timing.

I’m not saying that because i plan to go the “best pvp build character”, just because PvP balance … is in fact impossible here.

I have seen clerics stomp people.
Drievbrys stomp people…
Every class can stomp another class in pvp.
The one who triggers his skills in an effective way will prevail.

An AoE set right, might kill off the enemys squsihys.
An 30k hp Squire, might just headbutt the enemys mage into the sand.
An single fletcher cross arrow, might just kill everyone.

1vs1 you can balance a fight.
2vs2 it’s doable.
Up from that it’s just plainly stupid.

One of the reasons many mmorpgs have classes, that are nearly identical in their dps output and playstyle. Just with another name tag on them.

I would count on it, that there’s a hidden class with PvP and/or Cosmetics.

on TESO(if you are referring to the elder scrolls online) you level slower on PvP(killing players and doing objectives), but you can still level: if you do quests on the pvp map, but then, it isn’t PvP you are doing.

WoW applies exp gain on PvP and makes it something to break repetitive questing and grinding(but in there it’s only rewarding to level if you win your matches).

I expect the TOS pvp to apply some exp gain to make PvP not only for fun but an option to level, slower(not so much slow please, say 10minutes more per level)than “conventional” methods, but you will level. +1

Nope not in this game there are to many class combinations for this game to ever be balanced its the price we pay for all our options and i accept it.

Sounds good, as long as both sides gain exp for participating with the winning side just getting extra, because support classes probably won’t be doing any killing.

10 mn per lvl is damn quick man. Even more at higher lvl.

oh sorry I wasn’t clear enough, but I wanted to say it should be 10minutes more than your usual grinding, and not 10 minutes making pvp :3
E.g.: you get a level every 30 mins grinding, you get a level each 40 mins on pvp

Hm. It seems good when you say it, but it will be really hard to do it in practice…

1v1 is balanceable simply. because of one single thing.

Placement of oneself and skillrange.

with so many skills and wahtever. The moment of engage will settle who wins xD.

Have you just spammed Safet Wall?
Is there a trap?
Is your kneeling range so high that he ran into you.
One Shot Monk energy blast in a direction you suspest enemy to come from.

The variations are fast.
But at the end it’s reaction time and range xD.

I second this notion. This will be easy to implement.

I think it would be the worst thing they could actually do to this game to be honest.

It would basically kills the game as it is of now.

Not sure if satire or…

Ya sure the game will die if they enable exp gain by doing PvP xD
Same as the game dies if they implement an optional PK channel xD
Oh and the game dies if they implement the P2W exp booster xD
And it will die if only Cosmetics are being sold xD

Damn so much BS on the forum

Anyways this topic already has been discussed somewhere on the forum - and same old thing…sure why not people who are more into PvP and hate grinding gonna like it - after all they have to play the game to level up same as grinder do. Some money and points for mediocre equipment at a mediocre equipment NPC and we are done. How they handle endgame gear and other stuff is in their hands.

Explain how would the game die is they allow PVP to gain experience?

Only gonna respond to you since the 2 other are totally biased and act like childs.

Basically it won’t “die” properly speaking but it will turn a bit like WoW or TERA right off the bat after they implemented this system, meaning people farming PvP in teams in order to level up, but basically if the exp rate kinda look like these that we got during iCBT (or even if they are slightly better), so much people will just farm PVP which will make the PvP lively and populated which is nice. The issue is, the game for now is basically the leveling process and the discovery of hidden quests/new areas/better way to exp as a team, as a solo player or w/e. So (still under the assumption that the exp rates are near what we got during the iCBT) a lot of people will level up by doing mostly PVP, a bunch of others exclusively by doing that because people seem not to handle the current exp rates that well. Finally when they’ll reach the level cap they’ll basically run out of things to do since they already exhausted the PvP content so much during leveling, thus leaving them with not that much to do (in the current state of the game). This leading to a quick depopulation after reaching C6 or max level (in the current form of the game).

That’s one of the issues, the other one is that people that just want to enjoy the game that IMC games did by exploring new areas, finding parties and exp-ing together will be screwed up because the vast majority of the people are gonna farm PvP for exp, thus leaving them with very little choices as with whom to exp with in a party, sometimes no one. And this could cause also a depopulation of the game, because the more you advance, the more you’ll find it hard to advance solo. (and also somewhat boring after like a week or 2 of solo exp because you have no one to party with).

So that’s basically the two main issues with PvP giving experience in this current state of the game.

If people are not talking about the current state of the game this topic is irrelevant anyway so.
because the vast majority of the people are gonna farm PvP for exp,
So you know all of the 50000 player good enough to say that? Did a strange voice speak to you at night?
Happy…Happy…everybody will do PvP for exp go onto the forums and stop them at all cost

Hope you do know that PvE player exist who really hate farming PvP for exp? Who know nothing else but grinding Mobs? Why would you farm PvP for exp as a PvE player? Seriously idk where you get such ideas xD And yes sure everybody will get tired after they farmed PvP till cap and stop playing the game cause there is nothing to do. So PvE grinder won’t get tired of PvE after hitting cap and they keep going according to your reply. Okay good to know so it’s just because of PvP that people are getting tired and quit xD

You guys can go ahead and farm off of PvP battles. I’ll be the one with all the hidden jobs in the end when I explore every nook and cranny this game has to offer. I +1 this notion. Bring in the PvP arena exp!

  • building up your character through the world quests and monsters that’s how we level up then ‘’ if ‘’
They implement a pvp room like in RO which is free to access at any time it would be better without reward or anything maybe a statistic list of the joiners situation (kills / deaths etc.) but if they decide to do some pvp events and tournaments of course rewards would be nice ( points , chests,…) but no exp points through pvp x)

  • ( we level up and we fight ) we collects resources then we construct good pve leads to a good pvp

When people manage to nail down the ratio between PvP and PvE, a lot of people will opt for faster option, and the one option left behind will cry for “balancing” (see FFXIV Fate vs Dungeon exp rate). For a game that promote players’ interaction like ToS, I doubt they would want the player base to split. Also, more work to do since PvP balancing is always a bitch, and people would never be happy.

Yes, I have seen people who hate PvP farmed PvP for exp because “it’s faster”.
