[DropPerKill] Drop rate system- DPK- Explained [Updated]2

So is the general consensus that this system exists in lieu of standard RNG as opposed to possibly existing in conjunction as a supplement?

they are both implemented, RNG and DPK, so far i would say that they are unique to each item meaning that one item only has one of them.

Are you blind or something? Sure geppetto leaves are considered gems. Also they all clarified it was all done in the same channel unlike what you claimed on your post.

Meanwhile hundreds of people saying otherwise.

Believe what you will.

monster gems are dpk then?

like i got one on the very first kill

Yeah monster gems are dpk. Just so happens you came around and snagged it on the right kill #.

I donā€™t see why no one suggested a true mix between RNG and DPK:

If thereā€™s an item with 1/X chance to drop, every time that item is dropped (or ch goes back up from crash/maintenance), the DPK will be a random number between 1 and 2*X.

I think that would be more fair than pure DPK (that makes it impossible for you to farm some items that need insane amounts of kills) or pure RNG (that has the chance of never dropping the item). Of course, there might be that guy who kills all the spawned mobs and crashes the channel to get the item, but thatā€™s not a problem of the system, but a bug of the game c:

So this thread is still going lol.

How I see the system is most likely something like an item may have a really low chance of dropping, but when a threshold is met, the chance of the item dropping increases substantially for every new kill and resets until it drops.

This also explains the ā€œrange DPKā€ system. Technically from the wording, DPK = drop per kill, meaning there is a set # of kills that has to happen before a certain loot is dropped. So there is no ā€œvariable rangeā€ at all.

Also from @Blehbl claiming he got 2 hanaming gems within 500 hanaming kills in the same channel during 1 killing session. If that is true then the whole DPK on gem drops is already false, since DPK would mean there is 0% chance of it happening.

True,i kinda donā€™t like DPK system unless is per char based.

like how unfair is it a guy stays hours killing a mob for a monster gem, then come someone and snipes it?

like i didā€¦lmao,it was on royal mausoleum workers lodge,i entered and on the very first mob i killed it droped his gem.

i also donā€™t like cuz how long until someone creates a mod that can get the DPK of the channel in real time for ā€˜insert mob hereā€™ and keep track of it just to snipe it?

And about the hanaming,i actually trying to farming his gem(need 4)
i am about 2.5k kills with no gems yet, same channel.

question: if you log out or go to town but stays in the same channel it resets you dpk?

Hey, the dpk is channel based. Around 10k kills shared between every player that were there. if you log off or leave channel the dpk wont reset till the item drop.

Have fun.

Why do you need 4 Hanaming Gems? O.o

wanna test if 2 on gloves and 2 on weapon stack, giving 4 lvl on heal.

Monster Gems do NOT stack.

If this was true, wouldnā€™t items of certain higher percentages (like 30% chance) drop after every 3 (roughly) kills? On an empty map that would be easy to figure out. And by easy to figure out I mean this is BS because Iā€™ve done that, and that was not how it worked. >_>

RNG items follow binomial distribution statistics. Ex 30% chance per kill to drop.

In this instance there is about a 12% chance for one drop in 10 kills.

DPK would be ā€œkill 100 things, the 100th one that does drops itā€. But these are channel/server wide.

I seriously hope that somebody will create an addon that shows the kill count for monsters on the channelā€¦

Yeah, the DPK system is frustrating. Once I found out it existed I felt ā€œcheatedā€. No longer were drops about understanding statistics and grinding (an hour here an hour there) it became a ā€œgrind for 6 hours to guarantee you get itā€.

In practice, assuming semi active kills on the DPK monster, the players experience is roughly equivalent to RNG.

aww =[

not even one on gloves and one on weapon?

Just one gem will count.

I think they added a message to warn you if you attempt to add the same gem. For some reason, this message will also pop up on green/blue/red and yellow gems even though they clearly stack.

@Topic, Iā€™ve personally proven that DPK (or a variation thereof) is implemented in Monster Gem drops. Iā€™ve personally secured 2 Hanaming Gems just following the principle mentioned by OP.

I personally would prefer just pure RNG on everythingā€¦ helps make ā€œluckyā€ moments feel genuine (otherwise Iā€™m just counting and I know roughly when the drop willā€¦drop).

edit - in case someone asks, Iā€™m using the 2 gems on 2 separate characters that I do not intend to share gears between
