DPK is indeed worse than before

That was a big problem in early MMORPGs. I remember Final Fantasy 11 that was a huge deal, Ragnarok Online with god items, and this also occurred in WoW up to fairly recently. The big difference in these is that players had the option of pursuing this as a team to power up one player to prop up the rest, so both the player and the guild got stronger. This system doesn’t ask you to opt in or out, it’s just there, and it doesn’t benefit a collective of your choice, nor do you get to dictate the terms.

Even in a more recent example, Blade And Soul’s raids (black tower) give a set amount of drops and only one person gets to have x or y drop. Thing is, this is still fine for the other players because they usually get a lot of money out of the bids FOR that item.

Granted silver isn’t as valuable here as gold is in BnS so it wouldn’t work here. You can’t buy practonium etc iirc. Though maybe a loot roll could still work for friends farming together so an item doesn’t get locked to the one person that may not even need it, he can then just pass the roll.

Then so be it? Enjoy the ignorance as you try to mindlessly farm? This precisely the reason why i didnt shared the previous DPK, you guys are so annoyingly entitled. If your test proves me wrong then you gain internet e-peen? If you test it right you gain loots? It is win win for you if you tested it right now and with proper method.

What loots? Stuff doesn’t drop remember

There’s just as much to gain for you as there is for us. I’m not going to personally test it since I’m way too busy figuring out real tangible stuff like skill/debuff/bonus modifiers that IMC loves to never list ingame. Or why the hell Armor bonuses are affected by mob level instead of always +25%. You know, things like that. I have good faith someone more into grinding than me (be it you or AlleyCat) will test it sooner than later.

the drop cube ■■■■ ruined the game for me i liked how you could kill certain monsters to earn a weapon/armor piece it requires some research to know who drops what.

this rng nonsense paired with dpk is overkill and proves imc doesn’t even know about their own game :smiling_imp:

hell you could report skill bugs and they would instead fix tool tips and miss the bug completely they must be playing a different game or something.

Flagged because there -> Dpk more difficult than before?
is a thread to this topic.

Show your evidences for your scam thesis.

You trying to discuss with the guy that compares Cure with Dethrone…

Anyway, hope IMC doesnt ignore this thread. Doesn’t matter what kind of dumb and fake QnA they make trying to show how “good” this DPK is, we know it sucks when it is at 20k.

DPK MAFIA FLASHBACKS

DPK MAFIA FLASHBACKS

Isn’t that what the DKP is doing right now? Pretty sure drop chance gets higher and higher every time you kill mobs.

I like good old fashioned rng. at least with how the new system is I won’t feel paranoid every time i’m farming and someone enters the channel. it’s kind of annoying to not be able to just play the game. having to worry about awkward social interactions with other players sucks.

Now that we know how DPK works atm feel free to feel paranoid and check every 2 minutes for ppl on other channels.

Today I “farmed” a little bit Hunting Ground 170-190-210.
I always loved Hunting Ground, I spent most of the time over there to farm items.
Most of my characters have armor with 2 slot.

In 1 hours I was full of EVERYTHING in HG.
There were a lot of equipment of HG in AH at 10k. Now the worst is at 100k…

And now… CUBE? Is this Tree of Cube?

In market prices have increased a lot. And new player can’t afford it (barely I can afford it and I’m playing since 1 year).

DPK could be ok with 2 conditions:

  • DPK is PERSONAL (not shared)
  • DPK must be few mobs killed (max 100 mobs killed, you know there aren’t many mobs in maps)

We - can’t - kill - thousand - and - thousand - mobs - to - drop - a - single - item - to - create - a - weapon.
Can DEVS understand it? How we have to explain?
Another IMPORTANT question is: do they play at their game?
Probably the answer is no, and this is a mistake because they don’t realize how stressful is this game…
Do they know that we aren’t satisfied?
Do they know that we’re tired?
What they think about our reports?

I’d rather have old DPK back than this. At least then I knew I wasn’t wasting my time.

Maybe they deliberately set 20k dpk to try not devalue the purple practonium equipment too much. Practonium system really fuxked things up.

The cheapest way for budget players who don’t have time to grind DPK items / HG cubes is to use your Practonium on a purple 315 weapon and upgrade/trans it with whatever silver and shards you can earn. Purple 315 prac weapons have the same attack as the new purple HG 315 cube weapons, so it’s a decent substitute and the mats are nowhere near as bad as the DPK items

After spending a few hours farming lower level HG (170 and 120) gear it’s plain as day how much more difficult it is than before.
Pre-patch i would get 2-3 drops an hour. Post patch hours can pass without drops. In addition, when you factor in the RNG nature of the HG cubes your odds of getting the drop(s) you want decrease further, not to mention the chances of getting the amount of slots you want as well. The fact that someone on another channel can get an item drop before you regardless of the effort they put in, resetting the dpk counter without your knowledge, is infuriating.

This change has really sullied an otherwise really good update. Mobs are more challenging to fight and combat feels more enjoyable but it isn’t very rewarding at all. The tedious nature of this “Top-down” system is very disconcerting and I do believe “tedious” ,too long, slow, or dull; tiresome or monotonous, is the most appropriate word. Farming for rare materials/gear should be difficult but rewarding, not tedious and stressful. If something drops and you feel relief instead of joy…there’s a problem.

Not every material, weapon or piece of amour has to drop within seconds, that’s unreasonable and unrewarding. I’m not asking for that and I really doubt that anyone else wants that either, but I am almost certain that no one wants to have to compete with other players that they can’t see or interact with for an item that we need tens of or gear that is required to be effective in core gameplay, especially if it takes an hour(s) to get a single drop without competition. I’m also sure that with the current system many players rather farm solo since drops aren’t shared among party members even though with a party mobs die faster, they provide much wanted company for long grinds and provide exp bonuses (this is gone now). It’s almost funny, considering Tree of Savior is a “massively multiplayer” online rpg. Seeing another player enter you channel or even the same map as you while you’re farming fills me with dread sometimes and that’s really bad plain and simple.

Something needs to be done about this, more experienced players than I have made their contributions already and I just thought it would be good to put my two cents out there. Sorry about all the text.

Btw, the reason for this thread is that the other will be closed within a few weeks since IMC decided to lock threads after a few months, regardless of activity. Also, this is a direct response to the new updates.

I’ll admit the example is very vague, and could be clarified better. What the change in drop rates means is that it will take at least four hours to get a chance at a piece of gear. In each weapon and armor cube is around 15 to 20 possible drops. This is further compounded by DKP limit the number available on the market.

If a single player wants a specific set they would have to get at least 4 armor cubes and possibly 2 weapon cubes minimum. However, you are unlikely to get what you need from those cubes, meaning that on average you would need 50 cubes to get a 90% chance to get the specific item you need, and this doesn’t account for appraiser quality.

50 cubes means that 1million monsters would have to die for those to drop. At a rate of one monster death per second, meaning continuous map farming, it would take about 12 days of 24/7 farming. Think about that, for an entire sever you are only looking at an upper limit of 30 cubes a week to split amongst an entire sever. Furthermore, this assumes each weapon is equally valuable, which it is not.

I have decided to just play the game and not be paranoid. no one should be able to claim 8 channels.

besides we still have an rng chance with the new dpk system, just gotta pray to rngesus and sacrifice your first born pet.
