Don't remove magic scrolls

So basically in the end, you have excatly the same headgears and people who paid get those.
It’s just that it’s less convenient for them since they must do a dungeon run.

I’m sorry but for me you didn’t change anything comparing to what is in place… The way of acquisition is different, different form.
Is that what was problematic to you?

While I agree 100% with you. There are some f2p games being a hit right now without gambling for stats , they do it by being good games.

One cool way to add gamble is costumes. Let people gamble away for rare costumes and even companions. THAT would certainly earn them a lot of money , I would guess way more than those rng stats that are not so usefull.

@Faile Exactly, Gambling stats right from the cash store, That is VERY problematic for me. And why would You have the same headgears, its still rng , I dont get what you meant here.

Screw that noise. stats so small they do not effect the game can be random, but dammit you ■■■■ with my vanity and im done with you.

Also there are no GOOD games that use that system mostly just trash aria games.

Is this a solution or just an overall example to problems for “pay for convenience”? I understand how pay for convenience can get out of hand, its just not this particular situation where the stats aren’t very gamebreaking isn’t one of them.

Well, if you’re okay with hiding the fact that we’re buying stats by buying an indirect drop boost item in the shop… I have nothing against it… if it pleases you … (and if IMC spend the time to do this :x)

yep, exactly . And here is the cool part. Instead of buying to skip the game, you buy it to play the game. It sounds awesome.

Gamble for enchanted costumes? No thank you. I’ve played those games and that stuff is so stacked against the players getting anything. I’ve played the games that do that. Those types of cash shop items don’t benefit anyone but the company.

At least with the scrolls you are guaranteed an enchant. It might be + 7 defense but at least you know you’ll get something. They might be RNG to get the good stats, but at least you get some sort of bonus no matter what. There’s no “oh hey better luck next time” or a small hp potion… for $0.80.

If they make it part of the token system, I would say sure, that’s less money we’d have to spend.

Isnt that the whole point here? Benefiting the company without hurting the player base? How are people ok with gambling for stats, but are not ok with gambling for costumes? That just blows my mind. Whats the difference?

also if you roll good stats but are not that stats you are looking for you can sell it on the market to a player to lazy to farm scrolls.

Fashion is incredibly noticeable.

id rahter be weak then ugly. That is the difference. But in the current system i am nether because those stats are so low.

Ugly? Why would you be ugly? WoW, are you for real? Why do you think ALL cool costumes would be behind that? I said rare not pretty lol.

If you’re a company, and create a cash shop that displease your whales, they will leave and you will not earn anything and go bankrupt.

If anything you should try to please those and hear them.

I guess that’s how you do business.

Well Exactly. And I’ve seem games where whales spend A HUGE amount of money on gambling costumes. Also , if pleasing whales is what you do to make your game successful , then why not do like pwe games ( like saint seiya online) and just sell power for them? I guess they would be pleased , it isnt that easy.

I will repeat here. There are f2p games right now being a hit without gambling for stats in the store.

Because, there’s a big difference between gambling for stats that are guaranteed to a certain degree and gambling for the chance that you might get and any of the 95% chance of everything else in it.

For example:

Technicolor Yawn Box
A loot box guaranteed to contain a semi-enigmatic scroll. May also contain a Rainbow Cloud (hair accessory), alkahests, or other consumables.

You know what those consumables are? Crap you can buy at NPC shops in game. That’s a current box in TERA. No thank you. I do not want to have to gamble for costumes.

And that is how those sort of gamble boxes are done. Across the board. Multiple games.

Just out of curiosity. How much do you intend on spending on Enchant scrolls?

You seem quite oblivious to how it’s really working.

What you want to achieve is a balance between f2p users and whales.
No whales will make you go bankrupt.
No f2p users will make the game less hyped/interesting.

It’s not because there are games without stats gambling that are succesfull that you won’t be successfull with stat gambling. It’s call a fallacy in logic.

i will mark this thread and look it up when one day there’s the new super magic scroll that enables your to get 10% ATK/MATK etc

I plan on getting a few every time I charge, which tends to be monthly. I won’t be spending an unreasonable amount. I would rather just hunt them in game since they come from dungeons and it’s just a nice bonus. None of the stats they give are ground breaking. So it’s more of a “hey, I got a cute new hat and have some TP left over from getting my token this month … let’s see what I can get!”
