Seeing as I didnt explain my self very well, and everyone is taking what I was trying to say the wrong way, I have closed this Poll <_<

I also want to say, I play a tank character based around Peltasta C3… In no way am I playing a DPS Swordsman class, so dont make this out to be another “cry me a river” post about DPS Swordsman.

The whole point in making this Poll was to add a taunt to swordsman C1. (I do want to say sorry for not wording that right.) I say this because every DPS Swordy I run into has a problem getting into a party, or have been dropped from the party because they “Don’t have Swash Buckling.” I don’t believe that a DPS Swordy should have to waste one circle on Peltasta just to be useful.

I also said that if you didn’t like that Idea, then I wanted to hear ideas to help the DPS swordies out there.

Anyway, I know I should have not posted this so late at night when i’m half asleep, so that is my fault, but good grief…

no because I want to see you lvlv 200 with no investment in peltasta cry taht you cant get into a grind party because literally no one likes you LOL!

First of all, that was very rude, and because of that, holds no value. If you have no real reason other than that, I feel bad for you. Those that want to pick on others like that on forums are, most of the time, those that get picked on in the real world. I take pity on you and only hope life gets better for you.

BTW, I play a full tank just because I enjoy it and always start off as a tank. However, I do feel that DPS swordsman are lacking and would like to see a little light at the end of the tunnel for them.

one of the cores that turns pelasta into peltasta, and you want to move it to swordsman. if thats the case, what would peltasta be able to do instead?

Sorry but… NO.

The more important skill for a Peltasta is Guardian, High Guard and Swash Buckling. If you quit one of these, peltasta… dies.

Honestly, I’d like to see Swordsman (probably C2) get Swash Buckling. But a lot of people will bring up that “If Swordsman gets SB, then Peltasta is useless.” Why can’t Peltasta get something new/different/better? The whole Swordsman branch can use some improvements anyway.

Either this or give more classes a taunt-type ability so Peltasta isn’t a requirement to be considered… a character.

I don’t agree with this, the issue with swordsman is that the offensive lines lack real damage boosts, lower lines like Swordsman or highlander should give real increases to damage that actually mean something in the endgame, similar to how Wizc3 gives them a giant 50% MATK buff, but removes 2 possibilities of support jobs, forcing them to be completely attack orientated.
Moving it to swordsman is lazy, sloppy and just wouldn’t work well. Swordsman already has 5 skills, you want it to have 6? what do we move to peltasta, mind barrier? then everyone goes it for that.

I don’t think that buffing swordsman damage would be as bad as people say, I know that there is a gap in HP pools but considering most swordsmen need to be right next to the mob to hit it, I think this is fair, you need to put a shield on to tank so most DPS swordman wont be doing this, they’ll be dualing or have a 2h weapon.

I think a 2handed weapon mastery passive would be the best way to go about it but it has to be multiplicative, or else its just going to be another gung ho. Or even an attribute to Gung Ho that raises ATK by % When using 2 handed weapon, this additional buff would then fall off if the swordsman ever swaps on a shield, preventing easy hybridism.

Destroys the balance of the game if all ranks and classes in the Swordsman tree start with a taunt from day one.

That is all.

Blame yourself if you don’t want to take just one single circle rank of Peltasta. Blame yourself if you can’t chop off your own legs to save your beloved loved one.

The people who don’t like Peltasta’s skills in general forget that Peltasta is unique and known for it’s taunt. Giving everything a taunt right from the start makes it obsolete and Peltasta will definitely have a drop of -75% for being used.

For the passive; what if the character uses an off-hand weapon? (dagger/pistol) While the idea can work, it shouldn’t be exclusive to 2-handed sword users, just shield users (like how Gung-Ho and Guardian can’t work together).

As Swordies getting SB, that’s why I suggested it could go to C2 Swordsman because 6 skills at first class is ridiculous (Concentrate or some other skill could be moved to C2 for Swash to be in C1, even) As for the Peltasta, again, just something new/different.

Swordsman getting Swash Bucking could be seen as lazy, but think about it; since 90% of Swordsmen are going Peltasta simply for Swash, means that it should be a more core skill for the Swordsman branch as a whole, and having to spend a whole Rank just to get one skill to be considered competent limits build diversity (not much, but it does) and is itself sloppy design. (probably something unforeseen on the devs part.)

Tbh, peltast is kinda of useless, because of his kit that makes going peltast c2 or c3 useless. If they were going to move the taunt to the swordsman tree, they should at LEAST rework the entire peltast class… I don’t like to “waste” a circle in peltast just because of the taunt… i know a lot of you guys will disagree with me about “peltast” being useless, but you guys know that without the taunt the class itself is garbage =)

Peltast is the best tank class. Provocation is an extra that makes you a better area controler.

Then Peltasta would get something else so it isn’t a rank 2 Rodelero. Give them something like a party buff, damage reflection, or damage redirection. (party members takes X% of damage while the Peltasta take the rest.)

JUST NO.

It seems you didn’t understood the problem.
Moving Swash Buckling to C1 circle is not the point and is completly brainless.

We DONT NEED every swordsman to become taunt machines regardless of their build.
We need they find their place in parties as for their usefull tanking IF they are tanks than for their damages output IF they are damage dealers or their utility IF they are some kind of Squire or Corsair.

Actually, they think of swordsman as a tanker, cause late game swordsman dps sux compared to other classes like Ele3 - warlock, cannoneer, etc
