Not necessarily, lots of games have simple “power shift” or weak skills buffed into usefulness, for example, a change that’s not completely out of this world, and would be buffing a not OP class could be:
“Attaque composee/Flanconnade: The skill was too similar to Flanconnade but paled in comparison, since it didn’t add any utility unlike it’s sister 0 CD skill, so we decided to change the class a bit, Flanconnade now gives scaling % on block based on skill level instead of a full 100% chance, and Attaque Composee now gives a scaling % based on level on Evasion for a very short duration during skill execution, similar to flanconnade”
Suddenly if you were a Dex build Attaque composee becomes way more attractive than Flanconnade which won’t do much anymore for you.
You didn’t pick an OP class, you didn’t pick an OP skill, but a mere rebalancing/ power shift hurt your build a lot, which isn’t very fair, considering the ammount of time it takes to reach c7.
This specific example would double as an advocate for a skill reset in rebalancing situations, but maybe you simply enjoyed the “theoretical” 0 hp loss against physical" from flanconnade perfect play, and without that, the fencer class just doesn’t appeal to you anymore and you would prefer playing a Doppel/Corsair
