Seriously, it’s pretty retarded if gold seller actually does that, because I can write a not so complex algorithm to filter and detect them. Ultimately if you summarize all of the actions, it’s just a long chain of who received how much silver from whom, and it became a big web.

You can even increase the bot numbers to 100k and I can just run the function to detect and mass ban all of them during maintenance. Yeah that maybe 10 GB of data but it doesn’t matter anyway in today’s computing scale.

You are severely underestimating the computational speed of a processor.

The reason why gold seller is hard to stop is because there are too many method to do RMT other than selling silvers, also, they can just kept recreating the account to farm items. The problem never lies within how the RMT is being done, but how hard it is to stop new bots from being created.

That’s the dev being retarded for writing a failed algorithm.

This is merely a tool to filter out the bots with high level of confidence to be bots. You would still need to manually check if it’s a real bot from the log.

There are several very simple statistic to be used for the scenario you posted, such as frequency of uneven value silver/item trade, first derivative and second derivative of silver changes, or number of unique person traded within a reasonable timeframe.

If the data overwhelm the analysis, the dev can always set a delay in silver transfer, such as 1 hour, which will result is significant less trade and make it easier to detect RMT.

It’s not about that, it’s if one can actually write bot on that scale, he wouldn’t be wasting time as a gold seller. There are much better way to earn money.

It’s just like the idea I proposed, usually those who are able to thought up these algorithm and method to counter the current bot will not be working at a small company like IMC because the pay is too low.

That’s the reason why the bot and bot countering measure is always on the lower scale of technology.

this is my suggestion about trading restriction
I think this game is really good market system but your game don’t have bank system.

Bank system is system about storage and check. (reference for Mabinogi)
If you trouble about silver trade don’t have to spend money to back you. I recomment check system that helpful return some money from player back to game.
If player would like trade silver or translate to another character you can restriction trade with check only.

Example
I have pocket money 1,000,000 silver I would like trade to my friend. I should make check for trade to him. Tax for make check is 10% of value check. totally you get check value 900,000 silver (tax 100,000 or 10% of value)
If you need check value 1,000,000 silver you need 1,100,000 silver for make check value 1,000,000 silver.

and personal storage should have some tax. If you input item into storage and team storage but if you withdraw item from storage it free. If you need reference system about tax system I recomment check Mabinogi. Mabinogi is good example for tax system and have enough restriction about market.

For trade system I think trade only item is good choice for reduce gold seller and If you need transfer silver to another player should transfer with check only.


About market and tax system in game. I have little suggestion.

  1. waiting time for retrieve silver should reduce.
    I’m ok with 10min to 30min
  2. tax in market should little reduce for fair
    token player 10% is good but free player 20% is recomment
  3. team storage shouldn’t decrease potential
  4. reduce tax merchant class (squire, alchemist, pardoner)
    50% tax is overvalued tax should reduce to 10% or 20% that make sense and can reduce more If player use token that make token popular for merchant player. and alchemist c3 should have skill open shop for sell potion.

Can an you announce the the proper situation that can be reported?

Harassment, action and word abuse? Macro farming? Kill steal?

How do we know what can and can not be reported?

It’s literally a report bot function, it says when you report “Do you wish to report this player as a bot?”. If you see a highly suspicious player that’s very likely to be a bot, you report them. Spamming urls, walking in set paths with obvious igns, standing in place swinging a sword hitting across the map…

Please change TEAM storage and make a storage accessible for all characters, in all games is possible transfer itens for other own characters.
Only in ToS you be punish if transfer a item for you own character.
ToS u cant transfer itens or silver for new characters, it is ridiculous.

If I’m not mistaken, there is a word phrasing saying it depends on the current flow of the market. Hopefully they also thought of the supply and demand rule (in which how the real world market works), they already anticipated the severe declining and boost of prices.
