Hmmm… what about Guardian’s attribute that add 6% evasion per lvl, is it really worth it assuming your build is pure CON and you’re wearing cloth for Mdef (since we dont have any restriction when it comes to armor) ?
Well it’s 6% of your current evasion. If your building pure CON and wearing cloth for MDEF, your evasion is non existant. It’d be 6% (18% when you max the attribute), of your total evasion, so it wouldn’t really add much.
However, if you want to PvP, you’ll need lot’s of DEX as well to hit players that have high evasion. If you do have lot’s of DEX, 18% bonus evasion is very nice to have.
Thanks to all of you, really. What you’re saying is incredibly helpful.
I’m playing with the class builder/skill simulator right now.
What kind of DPS/tank would you be, though? If a R2 Peltasta works, then…
If you go for Peltasta at first, the only viable option would be Rodelero, since Cataphract uses two-handed spears, and not shields. (I suppose they can use swords, but that would make some of their skills useless…)
And the Rodelero class doesn’t have that much DPS. Do you guys think it’s a good trade…?
You can always go Barb, Hoplite or more Circles into Swordie. That’s if you want more DPS. And if you do go Hoplite you can always go Cata after. Since you DON’T NEED 2H spears to use Cata skills.
Thanks! Well… I guess no Guardian buff for now and go at least c2 peltasta for High Guard since I planned to be a full tank
Correct me If am wrong but is high guard good (auto block buff) ? Since peltasta can use manual guard due to class attribute and high guard reduces your attack and crit chance drastically…
I’ve had the most fun playing a DPS tank. R2 Peltasta is more useful for a full tank.
R1 Peltasta is just fine for a DPS tank, you may not be able to taunt all adds in a dungeon, but that’s where the DPS part comes in.
Naturally swordsman can get very high AoE atk ratio (a stat which determines how many mobs your skills/auto atk hits), and in ToS, a player has an aggro limit (the amount of mobs they can aggro before any more mobs will just ignore you).
Swash Buckling does not use up the aggro limit, it adds on. I can’t remember how much the aggro limit is, it;s somwhere between 5-10. So naturally you can use level 5 swash buckling to aggro 10 mobs, and then DPS skills from other ranks, to hit 10 more mobs, effectively aggroing 20 mobs, and keeping aggro due to high aoe atk ratio.
As for what classes I would choose, Hoplite is my number one choice, a must have in any DPS tank build, for a couple reasons:
- It gives you the ability to use 1H spears, which are amazing.
- Finestra is amazing, it gives block % and flat crit.
- Stabbing is great too for high boss damage.
Cataphract does use 2h spears, but if you want, you can use weapon swap to wield a shield whenever you want to use swash buckling, and then swap back to a 2h spear. I found this to be more troublesome then it is worth, and you lose the auto blocking ability since your wielding a 2h spear.
Barbarian is great, because all of it’s skills don’t have a weapon requirement, they can stun with 2 of their skills (which each have 2 charges), and they deal high damage.
Highlander is also okay since they don’t have a weapon requirement, going either Highlander or Barbarian, also gives you the option to use 2H swords, a nice option when your just grinding.
Corsair is a little iffy. If you go hoplite, you can use a spear and dagger for corsair, but wielding a shield makes their skills unusable, so you’d need to weapon swap often.
-50% attack is a huge penalty, but if you want to be full tank, having more guard is always helpful. Personally I wouldn’t do it, but I’m partial to being more of a DPS and not a full tank. The benefit of having high block means you will auto block, and won’t need to be holding your shield up with guard. That means you can dps, while auto blocking physical attacks.
Oh, I have a question, then. If I go from Hoplite to Cataphract, can’t I use a one-handed spear and a shield? (When I’m a Cataphract, of course :B)
Yup! Cataphract skills work with a spear and shield as well.
What happens if I use Finestra and change to a non-spear weapon? Do I keep the buffs/debuffs?

‘‘I was merely pretending!’’
Okay.
LOL. What an obvious and pathetic attempt to save face after being proven wrong countless times.
Drastic times calls for drastic measures
