Came back, need advice with pelt -> c3 hoplite -> doppel -> dragoon

Greetings, everyone.

After waiting for ToS to get a few patches, i come back on an 68 hoplite. With a +5 dory spear and quest gotten equips. 5:3:1 str:con:dex.

However, i feel quite weak, especially since others - on a same level - kill foes much faster. More precisely, i need about 4-5 strikes - on an enemy weak against my weapon! And with finestra i seem to only score crits every fifth hit or so. I feel like i could me much more powerful, especially after seeing an endgame KToS Paladin deal with dungeon mobs in mere seconds. I have some other questions, too.

Equipment progression. What should i get? What is my goal? There are so many equips, and it is hard to determine which ones are good to farm and/or to buy.

Consequently, how much silver should i plan to have at which level? It is hard to determine how much i need to divert into training.

Speaking of which, what should i get nowadays? How have the skills changed? What attributes are important to get? And most importanly, is it still worth it to invest in finestra? Or do i need more dex, escpecially later?

Oh, and this is my planned skill build:

Oh, and stats. Should i get (much) more con for later enemies? Maybe even Spr, because of - what i heard - normal enemies spamming pole of agony?

About the dungeons, which ones? And at which level?

Advice is welcome, and i thank you in advance for it.

skill build looks good (gae bolg vs draong soar is a matter of preference), for my hop 3 dragoon im doing 50 con 300-350 str rest dex (which means 170-190 dex at lvl 280)

well my hoplite is still rank 5, so i cannot tell you from a hoplite c3 experience
i can tell you my experience with my lancer who is lvl 300, the lancer is weaker in pve than a hoplite 3 build and i have to say it took me a very very long time to complete inner wall district 8. i had to find a party which i don’t like…
Now i have seen and partied with some hop 3 dragoon c2s in these rank 8 maps, i have to say that they are VERY strong, 1 of the strongest builds i have ever seen which is why i am making 1 myself (i guess i just love spears)
they out dps almost everyone (with the exception of fencers) the real power of the hoplite 3 drag c2 build is that it has access to both high single target and high aoe damage.
keep in mind that these maps are VERY difficult to deal with, and there is almost no class that can solo it (dragoon c2 might be able to solo it actually considering that i soloed the centaurus quest with a lancer)
again i had a very difficult time with my lancer, but that won’t reflect anything because my lancer don’t have dethrone

I guess i have to go full str:dex then, huh. After the dory, what weapons would you recommend for me to get?

no, do not ditch con
put AT LEAST 50 con, my lancer got 35k hp and still struggle and die fast in these maps.
for weapons my lancer is still using a cata pike, i will recommend either cata pike, cripple, or hell’s demon pike and eventually sacment or regard horn pike.
until you are able to actually get a hold of these 315 weapons, i would use cata pike hell’s demon pike or cripple.
cripple is pretty expensive, hell’s demon pike is cheaper and catapike has crit rate, honestly a matter of preference.

Ah i meant that i’m already like 30 or so con, and that (most) of my remaining stats go towards str and dex. I guess ill go 60-70 con since i’m prone to lagspikes here and there.

I´ll be making this build as well, was looking for exact skill distribution ty :), also what good gears for lvling (im asking for mostly spears since the armor/acc i know)
1handed spears shield, 2 handed spears?
Also stats i was thinking something like 4:1:2 str:con:dex , but would say 50con be enouhg for all new pve content right now? how muhc hp would that give me by say 280 - 300 ?

20-22k hp naked, you’ll struggle no matter how much hp you have as i said my lancer got 35k hp and struggling

CON is very important, I have at least 100 CON on my Hoplite as of level 205.

Oh and remove Thrust from your skill set. The skill Concentrate is much better, it’s like having your very own blessing. Also, remove one point from Rim Blow and add it to Guardian. The evasion gained from the Guardian attribute can be helpful at times when tanking bosses.

With regards to equipment, here’s the rundown:

Weapons:
75 - Grand Spontoon

120 - Zega Spear AND Seimos Spear or Tilly Spear

The Zega Spear is not not really used for killing but instead, used for giving you +2 levels on your Finestra skill. You hotkey the Zega Spear, cast Finestra and then switch over to the main spear that you use for damage. I suggest that the Seimos Spear be used for damage. Since, it gives crit rate and I believe it’s cheaper than the Tilly Spear. Don’t quote me on this, though. However, choose whichever spear you want. Both are great.

170 - Magas Spear AND Brandish Spear AND Geras Spear

  • Magas spear is for general mobs and leveling since it adds bonus damage to medium-sized monsters. And most, if not all, mobs are generally medium-sized. A Magas Spear should cost less than 1M. I crafted mine by buying all the ingredients from the market and it cost me around 300K to craft.
  • The Geras Spear is also for leveling and dungeon mobs ONLY when using the Spear Throw skill. Since the update, Spear Throw is a beast against mobs. Generally, I can deal 9K-12K damage per cast and the skill is easily spammed. All you need are a couple of Blue Potions to keep your SP up. A Geras Spear is the cheapest of the 3 spears and should cost less than 300K. I crafted mine by buying all the ingredients from the market and it cost me around 100K to craft.
  • A Brandish Spear is used against bosses. It adds bonus damage against large type monsters and, as far as I know, it’s comparable to that of the Catacombs Spear in this regard. The spear should cost around 1.5M
  • And yes, I use all 4 spears (Geras, Brandish, Magas AND Zega for Finestra) as I level and do my dungeons. Life has been easy for me, especially since Spear Throw has been buffed.

220 - Really not sure, I think the three spears from the previous section should do you fine until 270

270 - Lolopanther Spear

Haven’t gone up this far yet. But I know that this was the best spear before Rank 8 came out.

At level 68, buy Cafrisun set and keep Sacrament and Blessing all the time

This should help you 1 or 2 shot most of mobs under level 100

The Cafrisun armor set in combination with Pardoner buffs (which includes Aspersion, since it does wonders at reducing damage) make your life easier as you quest and dungeon. I only used the Cafrisun while I was leveling and only up till level 170. (Switched over to Roxona permanently at this level). When I went and did my dungeon runs, I always removed my Cafrisun set and switched over to Plate armor. The armor truly helps in reducing damage.

You either:
-rotation between knockdown CC Bashes and damage skill/AA
-Do NOT stand where the poles are
Magic melts every one, simply, ‘dont let em kill you’ by disabling them from attacking thru your CC skills(not viable on elites n bosses)

hmm green gems on gear, and cards are very expensive and takes a lot of time, if you have silver then glass mole imo.

My main is inquisitor, my secondary is dragoon. So take my advise with grain of salt. But here is what I got for my dragoon so far. 70 total CON/170 total STR/ rest is dex. She is 273 right now.
With the buff to hop3 spear throw + medium damage attribute, it performs very well farming 145 solo.(I use geras spear) and catacombs pike for bosses.

I like playing it. Felt underwhelming until about 220 or so, after that, I had no issues so far.

Gear progression is simple, focus on attributes, get whatever gear you get.
Roxona plate is decent, virtov can replace it later. For roxona only go for top and bottom. Slashing gloves and whatever their upgrade is sweet. And those swordsman exclusive +2 move speed boots.

Attributes make a HUGE difference, esp spear throw and stabbing. Serpentine over dragon tooth in that regard as well. Once dragoon two dethrone over anything.

I will try to take her to 315+ sometime soon for the card exploration bonus on new maps. And will probably leave it tthere

Whats about Pierce?
It feels very slow should i keep the points (got it on lvl1) and put the points in Long stride/Spear throw?
Finestra 15 Stabbing 15 Longstride 8 spearthrow 5 spear lunge 1?

How would you compare an Inquisitor and Dragoon 2 for the new content? I’m planning to reroll and I’m not sure which of the two is better.
