Brief feedback and thank you IMC ❤

Thank you for the opportunity to test and play ToS! I loved the game, it has its flaws, but it’s beta, so I know it will get better with time!

Here’s my feedback on some things:

  • Music: 10/10. The BGM of this game is awesome! In some maps the music create an atmosphere so perfect that you just want to stay there listening.

  • Graphics: 9/10. I really liked the cartoonish style with 2.5D. The only flaw here is the death animations of monsters, that I find boring. Most living creatures could just fall off dead with a little grief, better than exploding.
I made a post with some ideas for unique death animations. Ideas for death animations of monsters 🐯

  • Equipment system: 4/10. Your build doesn’t matter when you choose your equipment, there’s always the best weapon and equipment for your class of choice. This happens because lacks variety. This game have so many materials that doesn’t have any use, you guys can make much more recipes of equipments and add more level requirements (equipments level 11, 19, 27, 33, 51, etc) and other types of requirements (you need 50 STR and 15 SPR, you need INT < 30 and DEX > 15, etc). Also make more weapons and equipments that doen’t have recipe and drops direct from monsters.
A good thing here is the Awakening option, that helps in the variety.

  • Class system: 9,9/10. Almost perfect, just needs some balancing (buff the weak, don’t nerf the strong).

  • PVE system and monsters: 7/10. The PVE is very good, but the physical attacks of monsters are underpowered while the magical attacks are overpowered. I played Cleric, Swordsman and Mage classes, I didn’t suffer from being hit by physical attacks because of 2 reasons: the AI of monsters are slow and it’s easy to avert attacks, DEX giving too much dodge. The Magical attacks are a huge problem, because they give high damage and you basically don’t dodge, so the maps with magical monsters are a real pain to grind, do quests or even pass through.
The boss fights are a little boring because the majority of them are slow and don’t do much damage. My suggestion is to make almost all bosses fast and strong like the Necroventer (the only boss that made me think before attacking).

  • Companions: 6/10. I like the idea of companions, but right now they don’t offer too much. They are useful in the early-game (level 1 ~ 80), as they tank mobs and give a little damage, but after this, they die/faint very fast and do absolutely nothing.

  • Dungeons: 9/10. Nothing wrong here, just that there are very few of them. Dungeons are a solution for whom don’t like grinding or do quests, so I think there should be dungeons every 20~30 levels.

  • Flat damage: 1/10. This is horrible, the skills should scale with the stats, opening more ways to do different builds.

That’s it, thanks for reading, I hope it helps to make the game a little better.
I’m not a native speaker of english, sorry if there are errors.

Awakening changes this and makes a few choices but for the most part there usually is a clear best choice.

Iv said this a hundred times its easier to nerf 2 or 3 classes then buff 40 this won’t happen its a logistics nightmare the strong will be nerfed.

Everything else i agree with except dungeons would be nice if the rewards were more interesting.

[/quote] yeah, i said this

I have a bad experience with nerfs, I used to play Dofus and the game became bad because of various nerfs in all classes through time.

The problem with nerfing the strong classes instead of buffing the weak ones is that the weak classes actually feel weak.

Take Cryomancer C1 for example: you only really have 3 damage skills; energy bolt, ice pike, ice bolt.
Energy bolt doesn’t really add too much more damage than a basic attack - but has some AoE which is nice.
Ice bolt is alright - no complaints with this skill.
Ice pike is great, but has a 35s cooldown.
As a Cryo C1 you also don’t have too much mana to sustain constant skill usage, so you spend most of your time basic attacking - which does little damage, has no AoE, and gets boring pretty quickly.

Cryo C1 just feels weak and isn’t that fun to play (the only reason I suffered through it was because it synergized well with future classes). That is why I think it should be buffed, rather than nerfing the classes that feel strong and are fun to play.

odd when i lvled my cyro i had a blast and decimated everything my only complaint is one you mentioned was i felt icepikes cd was long but i defiantly never felt weak

Thank you IMC :corn: :blue_heart:

The biggest problem with strong vs weak to me, it seems IMC wants to push players to get as much class as possible, but they don’t understand players want to be different and take C3 classes.

They should have make all classes scale and equivalent to each other, so whenever Rank you are in, it is your enjoyment to take any class at any Rank without feeling weak. So that someone can take a damage class first, and go back to take a CC class, and become a valid built.

Meanwhile, at this point, it is hard to determine weak or strong, since we do not have PvP. Maybe some classes perform much better in PvP, but poorly in PvE, which may not need to make changes to.

yes they do. they have been slowly improving the c3s and replacing some of the bum skills. Mind you not very quickly but it appears to be inprogress
