Boss/Monster Drop & Exp Distribution Suggestion

I don’t agree with S5 being the best one, as I wrote here. S2 is the one that rewards based on contribution, and is the only one that makes you actually do something instead of just hitting once and standing by. S1 is just bad, which makes S3 as bad. No real opinion on S4.

People are very ingenious when the result allows them to be lazy.

Let’s extend S2 to a real S6: “He who does not work, neither shall he earn exp”

  • The exp earned from killing is directly proportional to your contribution. To not alienate support classes, count heals/buffs as contribution as well.
  • Drop chance is 100% of the drop rate (so for an item that drops @86% it’s 86%) for party who dealt the most damage, then scales down according to contribution. (Party A contributes 52%, party B 48% -> party B drop rate is 98%)
  • Kill count: certain level of contribution needed (e.g. not just hit and run)
