Clearly we aren’t allowed to leave guilds after we join them. Nope, not at all. Forever locked into a guild. /sarcasm
I don’t really care but I feel there should be a category on this forum specifically for guild advertisements.
It doesn’t really make sense to me for people to be making guild advertisements before guild functionality is even available in the game (unless you have a website to communicate with the people you’re recruiting).
It’s a bit awkward to recruit people months before a guild system is available and you have no method of organizing recruits as an entity.
Some guilds are already established branches from other games, so that may solve some problems about stable foundations.
I strongly agree with you that managing a guild/being a guild leader is not easy and that there is a lot of responsibility that comes with one.
One of your post, particularly this:
If your point of the post is to ‘deter harum-scarum guild leaders’ or ‘remind the community to carefully evaluate what guilds they wish to join’ that is fine.
However, I highly doubt anyone would get stuck in any guild as there is always an option to leave that guild for another that is better suited for them.
but most guilds are looking for loyal prospects and opening an option for them to leave just casts a doubt for me regarding forming a guild this early.
Well, except for those guilds who are well established from another game where some members have had a fair amount of time together, i dont know how recruiting guilds atm weigh in loyalty for those people who had just been invited.
The same thing with new members weighing in guilds they applied into regarding “how fun to be with in that community” where the only “guild activity” they can do together is post on forums/voip.
im saying, its not bad for people to join in and or recruit, but both the applicant and the guild must be aware of what they are doing this early on.
That’s the purpose of my post
Yet some people took it the wrong way, salty life; salty perspective
Take it easy… Just think of these “guild forming” as social circles… Some people like to start off the game in a group… There’s no need to be so serious on this for now… =)
In my last Guild on Echo of Souls we had a 10 man Guild with super active people who wanted to enjoy the game together - we formed pre CBT and everything worked well. Guild Leader wasn needed since we are more of a small democracy.
Whenever we entered Valhalla (a daily GvG map) we stomped alliances with over 60+ people. Coordination is the key - and trust to your own member. It’s hard to trust and know everybody in a “mass” guild, so the OP got a point.
But ya most people gonna join such mass guilds like bees round a honeypot. Their thoughts are probably “auto win if i join”. But in the end never contribute themself to such an “auto win”
@kmazamiko Several things here… I personally don’t think that the mere act of organizing and forming a guild, timing aside, is something to scoff at. I mean if anything, wouldn’t it be better to try and organize it during this down time? It’s never too early to start being organized
Take for example one particular guild that i’ve become personally invested in. Sure they formed early, maybe a little too early for your taste, but they have their ■■■■ all sorted out. Basically you have the option to go about the game (very early on) in a more social and organized setting. Some people like that, others don’t. I believe i’m allowed to make this statement because I’ve spent an acceptable time talking to members and reading their literature. So let’s consider this particular post one whose main point is backed with supporting details and information and not one that’s merely sensationalized without any real leg to stand on, A proper argument if you will.
I can’t say the same for other guilds simply because i haven’t spent enough time learning about them and as such i don’t think i’m qualified to make statements like “they’re really weak and have no foundation”. Now if you on the other hand have actuallly painstakingly combed through them and did proper resource and information gathering then I will stand corrected at least in the sense that your post has zero basis. I will still disagree however about branding “most” of them as mass guilds.
I’m also aware that the formation of a guild is quite possibly dependent on a particular group having access to the templar class. That being said a guild’s existence isn’t solely dependent on there being an option to create one in-game. Communities and guilds usually cross from one game to another so maybe take into consideration that there might actually be well established guilds from other games that are just planning on transitioning into this one?
So you sir can go ahead and argue that you’re fighting the good fight and warning people about the “dangers of mass guilds” and I on the other hand will, through this post, will warn people about the epidemic that is flawed logic and general lack of common sense.
Some people seem to think that their opinions, said with enough volume and conviction, magically turns into actual indisputable facts. That sir is not the case and neither is this a case of being salty more so someone being allergic to cow poop.
I plan on putting a guild together myself, and I’ve put a lot of thought into it. I however don’t plan on releasing information about it other than it being an casual/RP guild that I’m thinking of.
One thing that does disturb me is the Templar class and how limited it could possibly be, perhaps even limiting guilds to a small pool. It’s upsetting that such a service is being limited, although that’s only speculation of what little we know about the Templar. Perhaps they could set up a table for people to sign up a guild, giving money for that service? Instead of having a Templar a lead in a particular guild.
this thread XD
forming a guild is not rocket science.
i myself have created numerous guilds with my friends and know that the way to a succesful guild has more to do with the actual people in it than the organization itself.
if the guild is known to be a nice guild with awesome people in it, it will be succesful. people will hear of the guild, people will want to join the guild and be a part of it. even if there is an extremely organizes guild it still will not become a popular guild.
Yet another person trying to pass off opinions as actual facts and General truths
hello is there wheere i learn to be a good guild like you
please tell me how to guildmake
pease
please
haha
This is typical of any new MMO, but proper planning and building a community can give way to creating new relationships, great friendships, and future success. Games aren’t as social as they used to be, need to start somewhere!
Well said MrNova! Even I can’t tell which guild is weak or have poor foundation or which ones will succeed in the long run, it is just simply too early to tell (this is coming from a guild leader of more than 10 years now). There are always leaders and officers who work hard behind the scenes to keep their guild together without having the need to advertise their efforts in public, and members play a major part as well.
oh my god, is the wait guise , we’re turning in insensitve monsters with no patience, please vakarine guide my soul to peace D:
What I dont get is the creation of a guild even tho the game is not on cbt…its just all talk if you ask me.
CBT was like 4 weeks ago.
I got rekt.

Nothing to worry about. Most of them wont even know how to make a guild in game.
