Yes, the fact that people can just fall into a trap and get banned is really unfair. It’s not even really their fault. IMC should have really done this differently.
i’d almost sign everything i just read here except for that last part about features that most mmos in 2016 have. you gotta understand that TOS is intelectual property of its owners/devs/publishers whatever. just because you can add-on stuff via lua does not mean you should do it and fear no risk.

I played Asherons Call for 10 years. The UI was such a mess, addons made the game playable, but nothing game breaking. GREAT game otherwise.
Here in TOS is the same thing, but kids are getting slick adding in ‘extra’ things to trigger bans. Yes, I use the xp meter, map, and xp/card calculator. Not banned here.
They just need a real LUA API to allow addons with restrictions they see fit, something like WoW. It’s not that hard to set up even, just takes a bit of time. What’s going on now is just outrageous.
After seeing these waves of addon bans, I’m going to stick with what I have. I’m not tech savy enough to find the ‘hidden’ exploit addons and remove them.
Banning cheaters is not the problem and should not be yours.
If you’re really that innocent, you should stop fueling this thread and wait for IMC. You’re not helping your case by being agaisnt IMC…
Ban hammer have been a thing in mmorpgs, because they’re cheaters. Players are scared now and they should be so they won’t try stupid stuff because X reasons.
Also feel fortunate, IMC didn’t ban for life first time offenser like Overwatch did.

Or simply making a steam workshop for ToS which is only for addons, and control which ones are acceptable by this making everyone happy? ^^

Yea I know, I will keep this thread alive as long as I can. I know I’m innocent. They’ve already responded and closed my first ticket with a generic response, I posted it above. I opened another one with the response I would have given. Even their ticket system is garbage though, it doesn’t even allow you to respond to their response, you have to open a new ticket every time and wait the entire ticket line again, who knows how long that is now after all this banwave stuff as well.

im not much into lua scripting or addon-writing but i do know stuff about programming (c#, java, python, and stuff alike). what i can tell right now is that people are modifing gamefiles (this alone might even trigger a ban) to make stuff work. that stuff being either xp viewers or worse things like autopot etc.
give people a nice api to work with and everythings fine.

looking at your set of addons. was it installed from an addon manager? its how i get most of my addons. and if yes then we probably have the same one. i’ve only bypassed it once with the cwMarket, then i removed it rightaway

You are responsible for your own account - you chose to use addons at your own risk - if you didn’t stop to consider whether your addons were violating any rules, TOUGH COOKIES buster.
We’ll see you in 30 days when your ban is up – maybe next time you’ll be mindful and actually do your research before slapping on mods?

Just so you know IMC isn’t exactly bright as I know people who are using cx-addons and autopots that aren’t banned.
Please tell us more about how you thought than repair and open NPC window anywhere was legal.

Yeah, nobody is perfect. That’s why with the ban announcement IMC stated anyone that feels they were mistakenly banned should put in a ticket.
Putting in a ticket and whining on the forums are two very different things.

I am quite blind but I do not see anywhere in his posts where he says anything of the sort.
